Same here. It should be obvious to anyone with brains that Kyras is evil! I know Apollo didn't want to admit that his centuries of service had been a lie and that he'd been doing Chaos's bidding for that long but he has to think of more then just his ego, he needs to think of the fate of the Sub-sector! Besides, his actions over the centuries foiled the other great powers of the galaxy and foiled other subfactions of Chaos worse then Kyras so his service wasn't all for naught.
It wasnt just his pride but also that he lost his identity and will to live atleast temporarly but he almost gave in when Kyras offered him to turn, many dont seem to realize that Kyras is a father figure to Apollo as he calls him,the only one to do so.@@girlgarde
I don't know it is Diomedes is epic or Eliphas is incompetence.I mean Eliphas wears Terminator armour with Power sword and combi-bolter(plus power of the warp) but lose to Diomedes who wears Power Armour (maybe Artificer armour) and arms only Chainsword and Bolt pistol??
I'm annoyed that they made Eliphas so crappy in Dawn of War II and that he lost in Dark Crusade. Couldn't they have had him achieve a partial victory by crushing the Necrons and Orks on Kronus but then is forced to pull his forces back on orders from higher ups to use for a more vital mission for Chaos?
This is canon. The Blood Ravens campaign in Dark Crusade was the canon outcome there, with Eliphas being pulled into the warp and tortured for his failure, he never ascended to Daemonhood. The Blood Ravens campaign is also the canon ending for retribution. Eliphas died on Typhon for good, having failed his masters for the last time.
@@brightestlight9462 I don't think so in this regard, Dawn of War 2 very closely follows the canon results of Dawn of War 1 and its expansions such as the Blood Raven victory on Kronus and the Blood Raven defeat at Kaurava.
Well, playing as Diomedes is quite interesting, but i can immagin, that most players gonna miss the Force Commander from Dawn of War II and Chaos Rising...
an honour guard is so small it can be considered just a bigger squad (though an incredibly badass one). Captain of the honour guard seems to be the equivalent for the ravens of the rank of chapter champion.
The best bit of hilarity, though? Araghast, the Chaos Lord Eliphas was the second-in-command to, and later betrays and leaves to die in Chaos Rising, was voiced by Fred Tatasciore; the same guy who voiced Megatron in War for Cybertron and Fall of Cybertron. @@mojewjewjew4420 Pretty sure they knew who the Ancient was, only the audience didn't know who he was. When Tarkus finally broke his silence, Diomedes reacted as if he knows who he was.
something like that. The first company is the elite veteran 100. The honour guard are the most elite of the company that escort the chapter master, and the chapter champion is the best in the whole chapter.
I really wish they kept the other Force commander, but oh well. Day -o MIDIS is alright I guess, but he should’ve kept his gear from Chaos rising. Also, from the *BRIEF* bit of dialogue with Kyras, how did Demontitties not get even slightly suspicious? I mean not one thing about Kyras’ mannerisms doesn’t screech louder than a howling banshee: CHAOS.
Uh, if it was the fully corrupted ending, then there would be no Cyrus, Martellus, or Tarkus. It is believed that the canon ending is neutral (sending Force Commander to Eye of the Terror), good ending (only one squad corrupted and killing Galan), or the execution ending and betrayal of Avitus. Personaly I think the last two options are most likely, since we don't see Force Comander in Retribution Campaign, and I don't believe that he died during that decade.
I also did notice that Martellus has the same voice lines as Cyrus. That is lazy. It's like Relic didn't use the time they need to have Steven Blum record different lines for Martellus to make him literally different from Cyrus. Literally.

Is this based on your previous saved campaign like Chaos Rising? Personally that was the draw of it...continuing your campaign, carrying over your gear and experience points... If they really "hard coded" the fully corrupted ending from Chaos Rising into this game then that's a shame...I guess I'll wait for this to hit the $5 bargain bin.
Cyrus seems to be cursed with idiotic commanders.

im guessing "the ancient" was the original force commander due to his helmet and oath of silence
they hard-coded the Crusade of Absolution ending, actually.
