I wanna say that for me Raye’s music reflects her old self especially escapism because she talks about lack of self confidence drug/alcohol abuse, toxic relationships and she reflects that through her music but her soul in person seems so healed and free from that now❤
You're correct! Each song is about her old self! Ice Cream Man she lists the ages that she was SA'd, Mary Jane about drug addiction, etc!

She can do pretty much every genre & her style is really how she effortlessly mixes them all up in one song, shes said she loves juxtapositions and that R&B & Jazz is what she loves the most, her favourite artist Nina Simone, her cover of Feeling Good on TH-cam is one of the best I've heard, all her live performances I've seen have some Jazz elements, live music, she's a mixture of old school & 2024, someone described her as an elegant gangsta that's pretty accurate attitude with style

She's so lovely as a person, humble, likeable, music is her heart & soul, she's been through a lot personally, professionally & that's reflected in her first album, it takes you on a journey songs written over the last seven years, she's now clean, independent, releasing the music she wants to release & starting to get it heard which artistically has always been her goal, her happiness & joy in that is self evident when she's performing live & when she's being interviewed

I think some songs are better on the Live orchestral version Oscar Winning Tears, Ice Cream Man, The Thrill is gone, worth it, Mary Jane but others are better on the studio version generally those that have an official video like Hard out Here, Black Mascara, Escapism, Flip a switch, with Five Star Hotels I like both equally

Everything but the album. Where is the album reaction. Y’all did Victoria Monet video as soon as it premiered. What is the hold up??? You keep saying that we keep asking for it so why won’t y’all deliver. You said you guys were going to do it, ok when then because a reaction to an old ass Beyoncé performance does not take precedence over a artist that has won 7 Brits recently including album of the year. Give Raye her due time and flowers. Please and thank you. Signed a frustrated fan.
They are doing enough already for us, we have to be grateful. Showing up everyday is a sport already. For Victoria Monet’s alright video - it was in her album which they already reacted to months ago and it’s one of the top best from her Jaguar 2 album, so reacting to it as soon as it drops was the best thing. Please be patient. I’m sure they already have a list of things to do for us.

Escapism was a #1 hit for months before the album came out. They even reacted to it. It’s been more than a year. They giving us videos on old albums and old performances by Beyoncé and Lauryn Hill. Even Billie got a album review before Raye. This interview is recent, after winning the Brits, even this came before the album reaction. Which they can’t really appreciate fully because they haven’t listened to it. It is a masterpiece. I am just saying I would rather have the album review over this interview. Or at least give us a premiere date. As I said I am a frustrated subby and I am not the only one.

They can’t even fully appreciate the interview because they haven’t listened to the actual album. I am just saying can we at least get a premiere date.
