Just some suggestions for playing nightblade. Have it a try. Get Bloodbriar MI amulet, which gives -1s cooldown on Ring of Steel (RoS) Get Servitor Slicer MI (1H use on both hand), which gives -0.6s cooldown on RoS. You can literally spam RoS which have high crits and fumble. And you can transmute to either ice or poison, so it is flexible for both trickster/dervish early builds. Easily coast until ultimate using this everytime i play a nightblade build until lvl94.
For a bit more context, Spectral Longswords are so good not so much for the skill modifier (which is good, don't get me wrong) but the global Pierce > Cold conversion; this is converting both the pierce damage on SS itself and the flat damage added via weapon damage from Dual Blades, and furthermore, it converts to cold all your pierce damage WPS (Weapon Pool Skills, like Whirling Death and Amarasta's Quick Cut). Also add the flat cold damage from Lethal Assault, two Coldstones... Tons of damage! Awesome blades for leveling for sure!
what armor do you recommend for later enemies that you try to kill and acid keeps falling and killing me from these enemies? the acid is the problem and the chill swords how high they go in level?i got a chill and a hammer for more sword damage ,is that ok ?
Hey man, thanks again for the donation. I don't have a specific armor recommendation because my build isn't planned out or finalized yet, but you should definitely be prioritizing getting your resistances up. You can craft Mutagenic Ichor - www.grimtools.com/db/items/2854 This will let you add poison/acid resist to your armor. My swords are level 80 ish (I need to farm new ones). They go up to level 94 - www.grimtools.com/db/search?query=spectral%20long&in_description=1&exact_match=0
how do you equip 2 weapons in your hands ? i can only do on weapon , im already level 20 and i am still suffering in this game boss wise lol. do you also use guns for boss fights or just blades?
Hey first of all, thanks for the donation. 🙏 You totally didn’t have to do that. To answer your question, there are certain skills and equipment that let you dual wield. For the nightblade there are 2 passive skills that will let you. Dual blades and Breath of Belgothian. There is at least one item you can find that will let you as well but I can’t remember what it’s called. Thanks again and Merry Christmas (if applicable lol).
@@Goomba_YT Marauders ammo belt and the ranger relic enable dualwielding. Irrc there is a chestpiece too. Since you are nightblade allready, just take the dualwield passive.
Are you switching swords as you move on,? i got the chill sword and a weapon with the green stuff on top. im level 26 now .do i stick with chill weapons ? i have the regular game, mine dont show shadow strike damage since its not defenitive edition
Hey thanks again for the donation! As I leveled up, I went back and farmed higher level versions of the same swords. I'm level 94 now and am using level 80 plus versions. I did find a "Mythical" Reapers Touch weapon that I'm trying out, but I'm not sure if it's better or worse...things still die the same lol.
@@Goomba_YT Most broken set of MI's you could get is probably Groble Sand Effigy + Viper Hemorrhager as early as 15th level in FG expansion (requires Shaman). Those 2 thingies will cheese you through entire Normal asap.
I was using the malk swords for speed leveling for a while, but I swapped to these and never looked back. They are amazing for damage. Though, now I kind of want to try the pusq tails since they buffed the crap out of them.
Malkadarr's swords shine the most on a Reaper, making use of both Execution and Necrotic Edge modifiers, which gets nasty damage, but if you're going Nightblade + anything else, the global Pierce > Cold conversion on the Spectral Longswords are too good to pass on, I agree!
You don't have to kill the Warden to go to act 2. You can just repair the bridge as soon as you have enough materials. Also, you can put Coldstones on your weapons. They're a craft only component, required level 20.
Great video, i just started playing GD for the first time. What would you recommend for a secondary class to continue building on this setup? Or even if you have ir can make a guide that builds off the back of this one. Cheers.
Huh. I thought it converted 100% physical damage (not pierce) to cold. I will have to watch again. Let me know if I'm wrong or right. I found lots of swords and axes that did more damage, but that conversion to cold is the greatest. I guess you could use one spectral longsword and something else with high weapon damage. Really appreciate this video. It was a nice find, right up there with the leafmane find!
@@Goomba_YT Yeah, I was wrong. Go figure! lol I was thinking about the 50% conversion per sword for pierce to cold. BTW, I was playing with gd stash and I discovered something by accident. You know how you can get like 100 ancient hearts. Well, you can do swords the same way. By accident I gave my character two swords (doubled up) and it doubled the numbers. Don't know what it would do if you put 50 swords in that slot! I'm to chicken to try! I don't want to crash my system. Just FYI.
@@michaelwallace5368 🤣 I haven’t used many mods. Just rainbow loot and one that I think was called “smash and grab”. It just made exp flow faster and gave more skill points per level.
I do not have a final build. Got my main guy to like…level 81. Dumping most points in phys for durability. Currently in the last act of the main campaign and not having too much trouble. in 1.2 you have a good chance to get it off the boss. Arkovian undercity is another place to get them. Take the quest for killing the oligarchs at the entrance area while you are at it to reach lvl 20 faster.

awesome guide. exactly what i need to think about what build i should play as a beginner
Thanks! Hope it helped.
I would say for a beginner just picking soldier and forcewave spamming with 2h melee weapon is easier. But this looks decent too :D

These swords turn a lot of your damage to cold damage. Any class that supports cold damage is a good fit. Necro/Arcanist/Inquisitor are solid.
