This Milli Vanilli story will never die.
It's so horrible what Farian did to not only Morvan and Pilatus, but these original singers. None of them deserved how badly they got screwed by the producer.
Anne Haight not only that, but this Farian also steal the song from the original song writers , when the original writers sue Farian which makes him include their name on the CD

@@viperRX Farian did not "steal the song", he legally covered it which anyone is allowed to do. The names of Bill Pettaway, Jr., Kevin Lyles, Ky Adeyemo, Rodney Hollaman, Sean Spencer were all credited, meaning they all made a ton of money. Pettaway & Adeyemo submitted a song, "Too Late (True Love)", for the 2nd Milli Vanilli album.
For "All Or Nothing" it was another story. David Clayton-Thomas sued because the chorus hook line was very similar to his song "Spinning Wheel" (Blood Sweat & Tears) and his name was indeed added to the song credits.
This story of Frank Farian being the bad guy and abuser of all those people is completely wrong. None of these people got screwed by him.
The original singers of Milli Vanilli kept doing projects with Frank Farian, even after MV imploded. All of them, including Rob and Fab, became rich through him.
I think this bs about Frank Farian is fabricated because people try to put the blame for this disaster on a person. This “fake” singer thing has been done dozens of times before in the music industry, even by Frank Farian.
Milli Vanilli was a collaborative effort by all those people, those singers, Rob and Fab, and Frank Farian bringing it all together. None of them would’ve been anywhere without him. I think we tend to symphasize with the people that are publically visible and also tend to forget about all the things we can not immediately see.

Seeing this set of of videos is really incredible. To see the original, real singers actually singing GYKIT and explaining how it all came together means so much to me as a fan. I've been looking for a performance like this forever, it really brings it all full circle. I learned so much more about the musical side to the Milli Vanilli story, thank you. Fab has a voice, and honestly I think that nowadays he performs this song live much better than the original singer in this specific track (talking about live performances of the same song by both artists, not the studio version because the studio version is unbeatable) :) They are both incredibly talented artists!

@@ulzzangloverxD Well Ray Horton didn't get involved with Milli Vanilli until after Rob & Fab were let go once the scandal became public though. He was bought in to replace the eye candy lost when they were outed. Gina Mohammed might have been part of the band before, as I believe she was a backup singer until she became a face of the group though.

It was always with the real voices, just not the real faces. I’ve never thought Milli Vanilli were to blame for any of it. As usual it’s the record producers and labels who were the real criminals and they were quick to throw those to guys under the bus and wash their hands of them. It tragically led to one ending his life far too soon, but at least Fab has been able to rebuild his life and seems to be doing well these days from what I’ve seen. From London, UK

How come no one ships on Arnold Schwarzenegger for lip syncing his own lines in his earliest movies when he was still learning English?
Growing up this is the very first digital recording I had ever heard. I remember while in High School all of the controversy surrounding what had happened. What this producer did was tragic for everyone involved. That said I am feeling left with more questions than answers all of these years later. Is it true that there were 3 lead vocalist on these recordings? (Charles Shaw, Brad Howell, John Davis) And 2 backup vocalist (Jodie and Linda Rocco)? Who sang on which songs? Did you or the other original singers ever get compensated beyond what they initially paid you? How does Rob Morvan play and sing as Milli Vanilli today? Why didn't you and the other original singers get together and re-record all of the material so you can get properly compensated for your talents like Taylor Swift recently did for her works? Is Brad Howell really 92 years old now? Is it just me? Listening to all of these songs again today, I am finding it nearly impossible to believe this production is nearly 33 years old. Mind blowing!!!

First of all, John Davis only got brought in after Charles Shaw was fired (for speaking about their roles in the group). So for "Girl you know it's true", only Charles Shaw and Brad Howell were the lead singers while the Rocco sisters were the female background vocalists.
No, Brad Howell is not above 90, he should be close to 80 now (born 1942). John Davis was born 1954, Charles Shaw in 1960 and the Rocco sisters (or let's just say twins) in 1959. Not sure with the Rocco families ages! But in a recent interview in 2017, Jodie Rocco said that she is going to turn 58 that year.

I still don't get the whole Milli Vanilli scandal. Why put the other two guys as the face of the band instead of the real singers? What on earth was the point???
Frank farian used Rob and Fab for models to the music his musician buddies recorded - but the music they recorded was STOLEN - 'Girl You Know It's True' is a song originally by the group Numarx.
Rob and Fab were being ridiculed and didn't want to fake anymore so Frank sabotaged the entire operation.
In my opinion they could have ALL toured and performed together to create a live and legitimate version of these songs - explaining that Rob and Fab came into the project a little later, because they did - no harm in the truth at all.

Fab learn to sing the songs later in life, I saw TH-cam videos of him singing live back in 2018 and he's actually really good, too bad they didn't give them a chance and none of this would of happened
