When I first started my business in 85 ,those old Ford's were everywhere. My first mason dump was a new 3500 89 Chevy, bought it brand new for 12,000.00
Absolutely have to put the 6.0 in that. Do it right with nice wheels and tires. Also I heard miller is retiring and only going to wrench on the side…I know quite a few guys that are gonna be screwed without him.
6.0 swap for sure, it would probably be easier to swap the body onto the newer frame but you’d have to adapt everything over and it wouldn’t be as original.
Hell yeah I have a 1971 c30 dump truck that I have to put an engine in and I have an ls sitting in the shed but I’m not sure if I wanna go a diesel route
I would restore dump truck & do engine swap 12 valve Cummins upgrade trans sent it out suncoast & take it to truck shows. 2nd option do 6.0 swap that would be interesting one off old school dump truck.
Put a (rebuilt) big block Ford engine in it, but eliminate the carburetor and replace it with a modern, fuel injection kit. Please, do not put new wheels/tires on it (new retro style tires only if it's necessary ).
Literally have my dream job

Please don’t scrap the engine and transmission. I have the same truck and would love to rehome the drivetrain if you no longer need it.
