Fixing The Catch On The George 3rd Chippendale Mahogany Tilt Top Tea Table Circa 1760 PT3

The Button Latch On The Chippendale Tilt Top Tea Table No Longer Catches So The Table Is Unusable. If You Put The Teapot Or Another Item On The Wrong Side Of The Table It Will Tilt Smashing The Object To The Floor.
We Will Pack The Back Of The Latch With A Small Piece Of Cedar Banding Veneer Just Enough To Drop The Latch Down A Fraction For The Catch The Lock In Place.

I would have thought that adding the extra of wood to the latch. You would have to use longer screws, to make it secure.

I swapped the screws out with some longer old ones not shown in the filming
