I always wondered what happened to these guys . They were a part of my growing and I loved them. Glad to know they’re living life still. Nothing but good wishes for them all.
Yeeeeeees! And a couple of years before '90, we had Salt-N-Pepa (Push it), Bobby Brown (It's my prerogative), so I guess we can start from 88 -- absolutely golden, and Mariah Carey ruled from 1990 with her debut album -- almost all songs from that album were a hit! One of my all time fav from that time is 'I touch myself' by Divinlys and 'No rain' by Blind Melon! Those were the days! With MTV and VH1
As someone who grew up in this era, Color Me Bad was one of those groups that teetered between cool and corny but somehow by a stroke of good luck, made it to cool. Kind of like the Spice Girls who would come out over a decade later.
The early 1990s era seemed to be filled with so many music stars who were so big at the time. I remember the feeling of that time when I was extremely young and Color Me Badd was one of the most talked about groups out there! C+C Music Factory, MC Hammer, Hi-Five, and Boys 2 Men automatically come to mind as some of the most popular acts when I think about 1990-1993.
I have always wondered why C+C Music Factory never kept up making music. They sounded great to me then. I guess maybe the producers were trying to farm the music, like maybe they threw a bunch of people (unfamiliar with each other) together to sing the songs they were given. Whatever happened, the group didn’t develop much past the initial hits and they seemed to dissolve. It’s like no one ever talks about them anymore, but they had some really great songs.
@@BlackSeranna One of the producers (David Cole) died shortly after the release of their second album. Along with that, the guy who raps on "Everybody Dance Now" (Freedom Williams) left the group after the first album. Things fell apart basically and were never quite the same. Not to mention after the lawsuit and lip-sync scandal, the public wasn't feeling them as much. Similar to what happened with Milli Vanilli just not on as huge a level.
@@BlackSeranna Before the release of their second album Freedom Williams who was the rapper in the group left to be a solo artist. Then, one of the two producers (David Cole who's the other "C" in C+C) died after they released their second album. With half of the original group gone, I believe Robert Cliviles (the first "C" in C+C) just hung it up. The female singer, Zelma Davis, apparently was blacklisted in the music industry after C+C due to her being so closely associated with the Martha Wash lip-synching scandal from C+C's debut single "Gonna Make You Sweat (Everybody Dance Now).
@@TheNewgreatlife Ah, thank you! You know, before the big scandal with Milli Vanilli, we rocked out that summer, 1989. The songs are still good, but the lip syncing threw a shadow over the whole thing and ruined it. The worst part is, those guys could actually sing. The original singers were American soldiers based in, I believe, Germany at the time. They recorded the songs and then the songs were lip synced by the Milli Vanilli members. I thought it sounded so crazy at the time; I think the general population was baffled as to why music producers would think that this was a good idea to create a team of “musicians”. Right after it happened, our local radio station had a “Milli Vanilli Hits Day”; the whole day the dj’s played top of the chart singles music from GNR, Digital Underground, Bel Biv Devoe, etcetera, and back tagged the music with, “That was Milli Vanilli.”
My dad used to work with all 4 of them when they were in high school. Bryan called my house looking for my dad once but i didnt realize who it really was until after i hung up i was at a party with one of the guys when i was younger

However, Caucasian, Native-American, and African-American/Black are races identified within this group, which makes them more diverse than many of the top R&B groups in the early 90's that had all Black members.
@@hushg2000 Jew is religion, while Latino is a language group. White is a race. Mexican is a nationality, as in citizenship. Mexicans come in all races and ethnicities, just like Americans
I always wondered what happened to these guys . They were a part of my growing and I loved them. Glad to know they’re living life still. Nothing but good wishes for them all.
The 90s are the golden age of hip hop and R n B and just about everything
Eh no. Fashion was alright. Much better than the 60s, 70s, and 80s but still okay.
Yea and the best of all of them was the banger "ice ice baby" by Vanilla ice💪
@@ForeverSweetx3 you say this, but in no timeline, is an original pair of Airwalk Style 1's, dated.
Truth!
It's funny the most successful one in the group left in 98' and never came back instead focused on producing and living his own life with family.
And he was the least popular, growing up everyone always talked about how fine Brian was

As someone who grew up in this era, Color Me Bad was one of those groups that teetered between cool and corny but somehow by a stroke of good luck, made it to cool. Kind of like the Spice Girls who would come out over a decade later.
These Oklahoma boys did left a mark on the American music and inspired a generation...
Yes some of our hometown heros!
Did leave a mark you mean
@@SharJones87 *heroes*
Yep! Always honored at home! I pray that they overcome their personal issue and atleast become cordial.
I was in high school then and remember all of them
I have always wondered why C+C Music Factory never kept up making music.
