He's full of shit. If it's true that Scott Williamson's ring went for $89K, he's a more known player. He was one of their best relief pitchers in 2004. This ring belonged to Brandon Puffer, who didn't even throw a single pitch in his 1 day with the Red Sox. Only reason he got a ring is because the owner decided to give a ring to every player who was on the roster at any point that season. Who would want to pay 89,000 for a ring with some no-name player on it? I'm curious as to why Puffer would give it away in the first place unless he felt like he didn't deserve it since he contributed nothing to the Red Sox championship run or he was trying to make bail money lol. If the ring belonged to....say...Pokey Reese, then I could see someone paying 89,000 for it.
The Pawn Stars guys are crooks anyway and the show is fake.

No, the guy didn't mind that it was Brandon Puffer. Out of all of the player rings that were made, this is the only known 2nd one put up for sale. The players rings were different than staff and management. Only players received the ring in "Jumbo" size. The other bunch of rings made for various staff and employees of the Red Sox were similar in look, but were not the same Jumbo size/weight as the players rings.

Puffer was summoned to the majors on Sept. 2. Puffer did not get in the game and was designated for assignment the next day because the Sox wanted outfielder Adam Hyzdu on the roster.
Despite not actually playing in a game, Puffer was on the roster for a day and was given a ring. The 18-carat white gold ring was encrusted with diamonds and adorned with a ruby “B.”
Didn't do much of anything other than ride the pine for one game.

Are you kidding me? Do you realize how many die hard Red Sox fans would pay to have that? Sox nation isn’t just limited to the New England area, it’s a global fan base. To turn down the opportunity to buy one of only 51 player rings because of what some no name reliever did in his spare time is absolutely absurd. That’s like saying OJ Simpson’s bronco isn’t worth anything because he killed his wife (come on we all know he did it).... The asking price might be a little high in terms of reselling it but that’s a horrible business decision and yet another terrible excuse by the Pawn Stars of David not to buy something.

Might take a while, but I'm sure that guy'll be able to find a buyer. I don't really get wearing a championship ring you didn't earn to begin with, but if someone's willing to buy a ring that belonged to an IT guy from the team, as was mentioned in another video, I don't see why someone wouldn't buy this one.
