Hi there I just donated stem cells to a 5 years old four days ago and I can't stop thinking about him who ever he is I hope that works for him and he grow up healty and happy.
I was my little brothers bone marrow donor. We were a perfect 10/10 match and it blew away his doctors at Stanford. He’s been in remission since then, 9 years ago 🧡
I was a donor for a complete stranger, unfortunately my recipient wasn't able to survive. It is amazing how you feel such a kinship to someone you have never met. I received a card from the recipients wife and i still hold on to that card today.
What a selfless and beautiful act of kindness. I am sorry your recipient didn't survive. I am sure they are shining a light down on you for the sacrifice you made for them.
My son was 18 when he donated. He hated needles and had to have quite a few but it was worth it because after a year or so he was told that the recipient survived. Im always so proud of him. He is a remarkable person and not only because of his donation. Not everyone is fortunate enough to survive but it's worth trying.
I'm very touched that that little boy got to meet his bone marrow donor.I had leukaemia 11 years and my only chance of surviving was to have marrow transplant,I'm from Ireland and the only place in Europe witch did the transplant at that time was in Bristol England me and my family flew over so I got have it I was age 7 when I had my bone marrow transplant My donor was an American woman that is all me and my family know about her for the last 11 years. After watching this it is making me want to find the amazing woman who saved my life and I would honestly love to thank her so much.
To all the donors and to everyone who signed up to be an organ donor. Thank you. I wasn’t gonna be here if I didn’t get a donor heart, he was my angel.
When my son, 22, was in the hospital and was said to be brain dead, it broke my heart into pieces. He was still being kept alive by machines. I talked it over with his father about donating his organs. To give someone that chance at life is something I think my son would agree with.
This is absolutely weird. My brother.. on his birthday, 4, leg pain had leukemia. Then relapsed. None of us in the family were a match. And found a young girl to help her. Just found connection to this and decided to share.
Gianna Giorgianni wow. we know we are never alone because Jesus Christ is with us, but when He sends someone going thru the same things our way...it helps too. wow. ❤️
We cannot wait to meet the donor who saved my daughters life. I cried throughout this video because it hits so close to home. Ty to all the donors who save precious people like my daughter. :)
My brother died 2 years ago and give life again to 6 people. We lost Trevor but 6 people got a chance at life again through him and that makes us very very proud of him. I’m still crying for my brother 💔💔💔💔
Amy Pham Not to be a downer or anything, but just because you donate your bone marrow, doesn't mean the recipient is gonna make it. I think it's great of you to sign up as a donor and everybody who can should do that, but you have to be prepared for a bad ending too when you do this.
Herr Hurbig I know that it might not work out, but I don’t understand why you felt the need to make a discouraging comment. Donating is caring for someone else even if it doesn’t work out. I would still be happy that I tried.
that little boy is so sweet and grateful. u don't see that a lot anymore these days in kids around that age. most are big brats and completely spoiled. its so annoying. this boys parents really taught him the right way.
Sorry to disagree, kids are not born brats and spoilt, they are made that way by bad parenting, all kids turn out good with 100% love, they return what they are given , love love and more love to all children every where.
I have been watching videos' of people who stepped in to help others with life threatening diseases. I have been crying, but it's a good cry. We are Blessed.
I was blessed to come up as a match in 1995 and 1996 thru the National Marrow Donor Bank. My first recipient did not survive past one year, so we were never able to meet. My second recipient did survive, and my family and I drove out to Michigan from our home in Maryland to meet him and his family. I still get teary remembering when his father ran out of their house to hug me….he didn’t want to let go. My tears remembering that moment are dripping onto my iPad as I type this. Those marrow donations made me a better person and I am forever grateful to have had those opportunities to help.
As simple as seven words, this beautiful human being summed it up! "IT'S THE RIGHT THING TO DO" Not all heroes wear capes and this young lady is my hero now!!!!
Onions! Wow. When I was 13 I lost my mother who was 38 to leukemia. She could not find a match in time. That was in 1988 I made a vow that when I was old enough to get on the list to be a donor. I've been on the list for over twenty years and I got a call 2 weeks ago that I may be a match. I hope and pray I can help this person so that they can be a productive part of society. And if they have kids their kids will not loose a parent. And if the person still has their parents they won't have to bury a child.
Jason King my brother had leukemia and I was tested but was not a match but a match was found but he did not make it so I told my self I would be a match for someone time went on and then one day I got the call that someone would need my help and I said to my self that I could. To help me but I can help someone so I told them that I would do it I had all the blood work done but I did not get the next call. I told myself that if I could not help my brother Paul I will help someone now I’m just waiting for a call
Update: It's been 8 months since I was able to donate to someone. The process was done at a major hospital in Atlanta Georgia. I'm not sure where the recipient lives or anything about them. I did check the form yes if the family would like to reach out. I work for the railroad and my employer was great to allow me to do this, as well as my wife. It's more to it than just saying yes. Would I do it again, absolutely so many people die without or waiting on a match. Just the thought I may have helped something gives me a good feeling. And honestly at this point in my life good feelings are a good thing. If someone reads this and have thought about going on the regestery but haven't please do. You can't put a price on life. :)
Oh boy!❤😢 What a beautiful story! I tried to be a donor since my 18th b-day by because of my family history of diabetes, I couldn't 💔, but I never gave up; now I run for cancer 🙏🙏
My dad was given a gift of a liver by a wonderful family that had just been through loss. It's meant another 22.5 years and still going. I'm so thankful especially when I see him and my boys together xxoo to all the donors and families out there.
I think when this woman gets older, she can look back on this and say that it was one of those defining moments in peoples lives that make a difference. And when the little boy grows up and looks at her picture, he's going to think how can you ever repay someone back for giving you life. Excellent story, BTW checked to see if I could be a donor but I'm past the age restriction.
She didnt have to do that but she did, out of the goodness of her heart. For doing the right thing and potentially someone's life. It is a minor inconvenience, a few hours of your time and a small procedure with some pain, but to the other side and recipient, your sacrifice means the world to them. Please donate if you can. I've just sent mine in. Hoping for the best. Real life heroes dont wear capes. They get married this weekend, filled with love.

I had bone cancer at 13 and got so many blood transfusions and so much care. And you meet these brave little warriors they make you realize if they can you can.
