I like Virgil cuz I'm reading it right now! Didn't know that Horace, Ovid, and Virgil were considered squarely in the Golden Age of Roman literature, and that authors like Livy and Marcus Aurelius were in the Silver Age.

The Roman stuff is just weak and frail compared to the Greek canon. No comparison. I think the corruption of Christianity discredits the Romans. The Greeks were so much stronger
