    I love the fact that you highlighted on the need to consider both hydrostatic pressure and active earth pressure on the walls of swimming pool during analysis as the swimming pool will never be always filled with water during its entire service life. Most engineers like myself usually ignore this provision. Thanks
    This channel is actually the best RSA tutorials channel I have come across on the internet after a long search.
    I searched on TH-cam, Udemy and Autodesk webinars ( Rafael Gawenda, Arthur Kosakwoski et al) and nothing comes close to CEE webinars. Autodesk RSA webinars are usually not a step by step tutorials in the true sense but address issues users encounter whiles using RSA. Nothing step by step to help genuine beginners.
    As it’s usually said a software is as good as the engineer/user operating it. And this channel is the best place to learn the RSA software coupled with some engineering knowledge.
    You are a good tutor with many great ideas and I think you should you should write a book out of your experiences of using RSA in the future. You’d surely get buyers like myself, for that am sure.

      As for my ability to deliver lectures, well, I am an Assistant Professor in a University, and teach courses there, so it is basically part of my skill-set ;-).
      I am also delighted that I am comparably amongst the top tier in your opinion. Such comments only encourage me to give it my all. There is a retaining wall that I have recorded yesterday, and am editing it at the moment. It should be released 12.09.2022. You and Eng. Khanye are referenced there by name ^_^
      As for the book, I will consider it as a valid project I might undertake in the future, once this channel grows. As for now, I am focused on growing the channel ^_^.

    Thank you CEE, you really make it look so easy. Your tutorial is full of all the essential concepts that are so often overlooked (the tutorial keeps true to the spirit of the channel name = essentials)
    I appreciate the time and detail that you took to explain the walls results [I am aware that this topic was introduced and covered before on your earlier tutorial about "Learning Basics of Plates and Shells" however you have made it even easier to relate the interpretation of the results by highlighting this again while using this relatively relatable structure.
    All the other information that you have provided including the importance of the circumferential modelling direction of the local x axis, and the panels orientation for the local z axis, .... the list is endless (in a good and welcomed way) is truly amazing. I am of the opinion that it is these seemingly small details that makes all the HUGE difference.
    I do not plan to miss your "...raft foundations in RSA..." tutorials after seeing this. Keep up the great work.

Like circumferential modeling (coz it helps have 1 single metric Mxx to determine the reinforcement horizontally, helping the user understand the results he sees).

    This is the best tutorial have seen on swimming pool design in RSA.
    I liked the fact you emphasised on the need to consider hydrostatic and soil pressure.
    I will be looking forward to your tutorial on raft foundation (mat foundation and mat with beam foundation) in RSA.

      Considering the work-around about the "floor" used as a "wall", can the reinforced generated be used anyway?
      I'm a little bit concerned, only because only shape 00 is given back when doing calculation...

    Excellent class, the models I have developed include hydrostatic pressure, which applied on the bottom of the tank, directs to take it off the ground.

    Thank you very much, but i want to ask i have a semicircular swimming pool not rectangular, how can i draw ita walls in robot?

      You can do that via:
      Geometry -> Objects
      then you can draw a cylinder and attach materials to it.

      I would definitely love to see the slab finalised as well. I'm trying to mix this video with the retaining wall, which indicated how to model the slab too. But it would be awesome to have a video explaining properly how to do it using the floor command.

      To your question, the reason is: because when you tell RSA to design, if it is a wall, it treats it as a shear wall.

    Very good tutorial but how come the lateral earth pressure is 51.68kPa? With only 2m of earth, shouldn't it be around 25kPa, so half ??

      I just checked the video again,
      in 6:55 it shows the pressure at level 0 to be around 21-24 kPa, so as you were expecting, I am still surprised that it shows on the load label 51.
      I need to investigate this to be honest, I think it might be a bug.

      Yea, I'm working on a project at the moment and having exact same issue😢 I have spent hours trying to rectify it so I think you are right about it being a bug

      @@nickbailey1640 A nice "hack" is to modify your specific gravity so that it produces the pressure you are expecting.
