That poor, lost little girl. I felt so badly for her. It must've been incredibly frightening for her, especially since she didn't seem to speak English. I'm so thankful for the mother and her daughter who were just incredible, presenting the little girl w/ kindness and compassion. They're real heroes in this situation!
All of the rescues these guys do are unbelievably amazing. The woman who lost her wedding ring of really touched something in me. I had been married for 35 years and lost my wedding ring on the beach. That ring had been on my finger since the moment my husband put it there on our wedding day. It's not about the ring. It's about every memory that you've ever made with your husband and your family tied into something tangible that you carry with you everyday. To lose that was devastating for me and we never found it. These guys on Bondi are so compassionate and understanding!
I know it wouldn't be enough for everyone but I wonder if beaches could start putting in lockers you hire out like at swimming pools for your keys and personal items etc, especially for say like surfers or people by there selfs who don't have family members or friends sitting by there belongings 🤷🏼♀️
The power of lost and found. If you ever find someone's valuables, return it to the authorities. I left my wallet on a bench at a local beach and someone handed it in to the police. Nothing was stolen, everything was still there including money. Great job to those who returned the shirt with those ladies keys.
The mom and daughter are so kind and helpful and stayed with that poor lost girl.. even the daughter was so gentle and helping to comfort the small girl.. good job to her parents! ❤
The second case reminds me of my swimming classes where the teacher taught us to never get too close to a drowning person unless we are absolutely sure the person kind of responds to the words we say and can still follow directions or that we are able to free us via some "tricks" or of course have a floating object that can hold both of us. I never understood completely why but this scene showed me exactly why.
yeah im a former lifeguard and i mean the reality of the situation is that someone who is drowning is in fight or flight mode. their immediate concern is going to be about doing anything and everything to stay afloat which often means grabbing onto whatever they can manage to find even if that is a person. no one does it on purpose but the brain is not processing that they could be drowning someone else with them it just sees a way out and takes it. if they aren’t coherent enough to respond clearly to verbal cues they aren’t coherent enough to be near safely without something else for them to grab.
Well, but what else could she say, when they told her-- nicely-- that they were too busy to deal with it? Or maybe I misheard that, in which case, oops, sorry!
Once we forgot our bags! Just as we were going to to car we remembered. As we turned some man walked up to us with our bags. We thanked him and left. We had all our belongings in there so we were pretty lucky the guy helped out!
The man who lost his cousin I totally feel for, my family had a big reunion at a beach once and one of our uncles had wandered off and then no one could find him for hours and I stg I thought my grandmother was going to have a heart attack from the worry.
I don't understand that kind of thoughtlessness/inconsideration...and for some reason, it always seems to be men who are missing...or at least, that's all I've seen so far. If that is the actual case, I wonder why that could be... Thank goodness for those dedicated lifeguards, who are so reassuring and do everything possible to find these missing people!
@@jennynott3841 ya, it isn't that simple if you have 8 kids. And I know you either don't know what that's like or the 1% where you popped out a whole classroom and are so strict that they don't really have a life and don't know what fun is. They only know your fun. But other than that most people let their kids go play on a beach. It's hard to keep them together.

Mom lost the diamond to her wedding ring a while ago when I was younger and never found it. I remember it really well because it's the most upset I've ever seen her in my life.

I'd think they could also add an outline of a person on the lifeguard board to show people how to place their body on the board in rescue. Language barriers would be solved for that situation, too.
Finding those huge 20 years' worth of marriage sparkly rings of diamonds was amazing! : ) And I love when they start many segments with... "and we were just packing everything up for the day"... cuz you know that's just the beginning of a whole new, frightening, yet solved adventure!
In Chile, what is done when a child is found lost on the beach is to clap and say the child's name. that warns parents, it is a pretty good technique, they are almost always found when it is used.
Love you guys!!! Great saves each time! Teamwork is so efficient that it's crazy. You guys move all as one. You watch and protect as one. When one moves, the others cover that area and hold it down. TEAM BONDI RESCUE ❤❤❤❤❤
There was a beach in England that I used to live by & would visit daily. One area of the beach where it had breakers would be painted in different colours to create zones. If you went up to the lifeguards that worked in that area all summer would give groups of family & friends coloured wrist bands that you would write your child’s name on & the name & number for the parent or guardians that were with them down at the beach. That way when a child would lose their group they would be able to go to get help & the lifeguards could use those wristbands to contact the person caring for them. I think it is something all beaches with lifeguards should have available. Maybe have something more permanent for locals to avoid waste. And maybe when visitors in fly into a country that have beaches, these bands can be handed out on planes & other transport. And maybe on planes they can give a video guide on rules for beaches like swim between the flags!!
it would not be feasible at bondi beach - 1000s visit every day - it would take up all lifeguards time - i doubt that is the case in england with their beaches probably just handfuls at any given time so it is much easier to track everybody
You are incorrect about UK beaches & the numbers visiting beaches during warm sunny weather. And we happen to have some long beaches as well. If places like beaches, large shopping centres, music festivals (or any other large festivals) sporting venues, amusement parks etc gave out wrist bands (or you could pick them up at shops in the area or airlines, cruise ships etc) for a child to have their first name. Contact name & number of the adult that is responsible for then that day that day, along with language they speak & allergies it would speed up the time for a child to be found alone & then to be reconnected with their responsible adult. Would it not be faster to call the responsible adult rather than walk up & down the area hoping to bump into the missing adult especially if you do not know the adults name to shout out. For lifeguards to be able to contact the missing adult by phone call within minutes of the child being taken to them lost would speed up the reunion time compared to how long we see it take them as well as it also taking more lifeguards attention off the water to aid in the search for the responsible adult. The faster the reunion time the faster lifeguards get back to focusing on the water again. Therefore I believe it to be very feasible. And it can be used in a number of locations.
You should always keep your belongings with you if going to the beach. If you wish to swim stay between the flags and either put them in the lockers provided or get the lifegaurds to keep your bag in the tower. If you are a tourist leave your valuable things in your hotel safe.
