I loved it when Sasha said, "And your hair is just your crown!"
As if someone didnt say that before her.
+Jas monroy as if she's heard it before
@@jasmonroy6351who cares, just because someone said it first doesn't mean she didn't came up with it ,humans are similar remember?
"You are a queen, and your hair is just your crown"

Everyone watch her in American honey !!! She's so good
Londonn Klasss yasssssssssssss x 10million times yes
Londonn Klasss hated her face in that movie...she did look dirty too. IMO
@@m.r.5016 everyone was dirty in that movie
slantdwave ....lol😂.... yess!
for her first movie she did amazing i was surprised
she's beautiful
shes so f'in gorgeous wow
I think she's gorgeous and her hair looks amazing
Even though I don't really like dreadlocks, she's right about the most natural hair bit. Dreads are the most natural state of hair because early humans never brushed their hair, it just grew out lol
Delaram Sani dreads are washed regularly please stop spreading misinformation. you are thinking of plaits from Germanic peoples.
Delaram Sani she just said 'never brushed' not washed. You don't brush your dreads right?
Purplefrilly actually people do sometimes brush their locs
Plaits are braids original dreds were in fact knotty dirty hair
@Selly Stfu you don't have a goddamn clue what you're talking about. WHITE dreads are knotty, dirty hair. Dreads from afro hair are a completely different thing and take a completely different process to make. You can also wash dreads.
that little "thank you" at the end :') angel
Sasha's an absolute gem.
People are so quick to ridicule locs but to truly appreciate the glorious crown that rest on our heads, you must understand the history and those who rocked the style before it become modernized.
Her natural performance at American Honey was amazing. I didn't think this movie was her acting debut. She can be a great actress in the future.
She's amazing and gorgeous. I love that she is so true to herself. Everyone should go watch her in American honey!
She is so pure it weirdly hurts my heart
OK WHATS HER SKIN CARE ROUTINE THO
t LOL SAME
Money is her skin care routine
No makeup lol
cause we're little on the light side we ain't got any black in us #lightskingirlstruggles. I'm not one, I'm just aware. i love this chick
Wow...you are gorgeous! Do you model?
imagine2C You're not light-skinned?? Lol..
You're darker than me where are u light skinned at?
You ain't light tf lol
Lol. She quoting the girl in the video. She even said "I am not one" actually watch the video instead of judging
Here in 2020. LOVED it when she said "this is all me" I also love telling people that about my dreads. Its all me
imagine we all love eachother and fight for eachother like she does for her dreads. the world would be such a beatiful place 😍
This gave me the confidence I needed about my own locs
she is sooo BEAUTIFUL omg
She is an actual angel. An actual angel. An actual real literal angel
It isn't just hair. Back in the 15th century, when the Europeans voyaged to Africa and began taking Africans for slave trading, the Africans wore their hair in elaborate hairstyles, such as cornrows, which sometimes took days to style. The hairstyle represented social status, among other things. The Europeans forced Africans to get rid of these hairstyles and shaved their heads so they would look "normal." And when they were put on the slave trading boats, they had no tools to style their hair with. Thus, their hair became matted and the term "dreadlocks" was coined. Now, in the 21st century, when white people, the dominant group, wear hairstyles such as dreadlocks, cornrows, or bantu knots, they're praised for it, and it's seen as "trendy," erasing the history of the struggles Africans went through just because their natural hair was different. Even today, in some places dreadlocks are banned, and when an African American wears their natural hair in dreadlocks or cornrows, it's seen as "ghetto." This is the problem. The hairstyles, which represent the history of African culture, have been diminished to a mere fashion accessory. Not only that, but black men and women are still alienated when wearing their natural hair just because it doesn't look like a white person's; the European beauty standard has basically forced the black community to believe they aren't beautiful and that their natural hair and features aren't pretty. And when a white person adopts something that originated in African culture, it makes black people mad because they've gone through centuries of the white man telling them their culture isn't normal, but now that a white person is wearing dreadlocks, suddenly it's trendy and beautiful?
👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾
I have no clue why I cried but this was just beautiful , I loved this so much💗
she looks so cool with the pearls and the hoops agh it's so amazing
I have to say I have them and I want anyone to want them to have them. That's just my thought. And you are a Queen. :-)
beautiful sentiment
I was listening , but hardly, I was mesmerized by all her cute little dance moves Lol
I love this special letter, "Dear Locs."
So true, the most naturally state of hair you can have; I love my locs, too🧡
"just saying" I only think dreads are good for people with nappy, kinky and curly hair but if you have them and your hair is straight twist them all they grow. some people have one or two dreaded and the rest of their hair not combed and swear they're locks
she's stunning
okay but can we talk about how cute her dreads in pigtails are?
For all of you white peoples complaining about not being socially able to get dreads, it's literally not for y'all, the MAIN reason would be that you don't have the hair type to be able to create dreads. You'd just get matted hair. Dreads don't work on loose hair types, it is meant for curly to the kinkiest hair that only black people have. You can't be mad for not being able to be apart of this. You've already appropriated many things.

Cultural appreciation is taking something from a culture different from your own and respecting its origins and meaning, as well as the people who created that cultural movement/trend/style/etc. cultural appropriation is taking something from a different culture without acknowledging its roots and using it for your own personal fashion statement. If a white person( or non black person) wants to get dreads, go ahead, but make sure you make it clear that you are aware of its history and the purpose behind dreads, as well as the story that dreads share. Respect and awareness are number 1. If you want to get dreads, and then go around telling Rostas that their way of life is dirty or gross, or you look down on a POC wearing dreads then that's cultural appropriation.
Weslie RossMal
Except dreads aren't historical only worn by "blacks" Also everyone can have dreads, it's natural. Let's not put imaginary patents on hairstyles, no matter the history. Nobody can tell me I should feel a certain way for showing my hair in a way nature intended. lol
kizanko Exactly, Dreads have been worn all over the world by nearly every race & ethnicity, sick of people branding dreads as a black people thing Smh lmao
dazed if you can give me ONE example of an ethnicity wearing dreads before blacks I'll give it to you. Give me an example of a race other than blacks who have a significant meaning behind dreads.
Weslie RossMal fucking Asians bro Google it
dazed I did look it up, and no where did I find Asian or any other race besides black wearing dreads for a particular purpose, meaning, or cause, or before it was introduced into black culture. Dreads were started by Rostas who were naturalist. They didn't use soap or shampoo and relied on getting clean by just using water. Dreads were styled so that hair wouldn't have to be felt with or touched by something un natural
I agree I have locs for going on 3 years and I have never felt more beautiful and myself as a black woman! I have so much more real self confidence! I watched your movie btw American Honey because I was like who is this girl with locs that looks so interesting! lol
I have dreads and its really annoying when people ask me a lot of questions about my hair, they touch it like I am a zoo animal but now when people ask me questions about locs... I feel special✨
She's so beautiful
She's soooo beautiful
I could say the same for my hijab❤

I love your message. Personally, I don't care what race you are, black or white. You want to wear dreads/locs, go ahead and own it. Rock it with pride while keeping your head high.
She is such an inspiration
She so dreamy
You go Girl, it is not just hair, it more.
Her dreadlocks are so beautiful
Dreads look gorgeous
I loved this! I don't have dread locks but I did go all natural 2 years ago and I love it! No more heat, no more straigtening I'm embracing my own natural curls, not trying to change how my hair comes out and the minute I did that, it was like a big "fuck you" to society who made me feel like I had to straighten my hair all day to "fit in" with every other girl's hairs.
"your hair is your crown" damn right
I remember she played a TVA Agent in the Loki series named Hunter C-20.
I relate to her so much. I'm more on the white side as well but I still respect my black side. Just let me do what I want with my hair, you don't know me. I love her dreads so much. :)
Thank you for sharing this very powerful video...i feel stronger just watching this young women and seeing and hearing her express herself.
dude she's hellllla gorgeous 😍😍😍
Sasha Lane is sooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo beautiful and one of a kind!!!!!!!
just to tell anyone in the comments , no matter what anyone says it's just a hair style and yes it can be worn by anyone because if you think it's beautiful it's beautiful and you have the right to wear your hair in any way you can because we're all human and nothing should be taken and no one should take away * your * right to what you want. we shouldn't go back into the past as where good water fountains we're just for whites this is the same situation just the other way around. long story short be tolerant of others as you would wish them to be tolerant of you. i love anyone who doesn't allow other people to control them no matter what your skin tone ♡♡♡♡
oh and remember this video is about a hairstyle loved by many , don't change the subject to something as rare and bad as cultural appropriation ; 0 ♡♡♡♡
She is fucking gorgeous
I wish I watched this BEFORE I cut my locks off this is awesome
Smh... the people in the comments ranting about ‘cultural appreciation ’ obviously don't know half of the history behind dreadlocks. That is part of the reason why cultural appropriation will not end.
"we aint got no black in us" 😭😭lmao
I love how people focus on shit like this and not things that are truly important
This is so aesthetic
Goosebumps
But it does look messy like that... Not that that is negative in any way, it's just what it is.
It's also not the "most natural way" because if just doesn't grow like dreads on it's own, it takes a lot of work to maintain... That's why most people with dreadlocks are so protective and "in love" with them...
Locks are beautiful and you don't need dark skin to have them either!!! Locks are spiritual, they help you ascend! 🙏
I love her voice😻😻
I didn't even read the title, I just clicked when I saw her on the thumbnail.
Love everything about this 😭😩👑
loc inspiration
Can we all recognize that cultural appropriation is when one takes from a culture and ignored the people, not just implementation? Implementation of a culture is cultural assimilation.
I love your locs!
She's so cute!
THIS IS BEAUTIFUL i am in love
Her voice is so beautiful
this is a stunning video
Love the message
I loved her sosososossosooooooo much in american honey
She's is so beautiful and gorgeous, just such a sweet human being

I LOVE HER OMG.
I love Sasha and I love the message
As a light skinned person of color wanting to get dreads, this is amazing.
Thank you Sasha.
That was beautiful to watch and listen to. Thank you
I was a white girl with dreads back when I traveled, road tripping the country. My hair is very thick, curly, and I've never been able to run a brush through it. When I was 17, I was traveling in a car with my best friends, and my hair matted in natural dreads. They were not beautiful and perfect like yours! But that's what my hair was doing, and there was no stopping it, lol.
Everyone is all about drawing lines now. When I grew up in the 90's it was about togetherness and individually at the same time. Peace everyone.
I’m in deep love with her
she has the cutest wee face in the WORLD
This is beautiful~ so meaningful~
She's a doll
This is beautiful
I use to have hair like that like 7 ions ago.
"And as if I'm just another white girl with dreads." I KNOW I wasn't the only one thinking it or at least tryna figure out if she was Black lol. Her locs are beautiful tho.
Isnt she mixed ????
I love her voice!!!
It's worrying the amount of white people who have missed the point of this video. When she remarks that she's not just another white girl with dreads, she is explaining how people with a certain hair type are pressured to conform to the dominant culture i.e. white. By people in the comments saying we should be able to wear any hairstyle we want, you are missing the point that some people don't get that freedom, whereas white people always do.
loved this
this video is beautiful but like... where's her shirt from ????
Beautiful love your locs
Omg this message I loc December 12 redid 22 her message
Love this - she’s beautiful
Loved loved this beyond beautiful
Straight beautiful!!!
I really want locs but my parents won't let me
keylladelrey it's your hair like wtf they gonna do if you twist your hair ? Beat the style outta you ?
Cut it all off, that's what I'd do.
She reminds me of Thandie Newton
All the ppl commenting like "but whyyyy can't white girls wear dreads 😭" because the same white girls who want to wear dreads fetishize Black men, look down on Black women, & have never said the phrase 'Black lives matter'; y'all contribute to the oppression Black ppl face in this country but cry because you can't cherry pick from our culture whenever you find something cool; get over it. We share everything else with y'all, our style, our music, our slang, our dances, our SEASONING but the minute we say y'all can't wear dreads or say the nword you guys go crazy. You are not entitled to my culture despite what you've been taught.
Nice generalisation.
All the comments are just off people like you being racist to white people. And, we're not all like that, love; I'm white, and I'd never "fetishize Black men" because I'm gay - and I'd also never look down on anyone because of they're race.
Unlike you're doing right now, you hypocrite.
Grow up and educate yourself. You are only making the world a darker place when you put out comments like this.
Generalization* 1st correction. She isn't being racist by simply stating general trends and what has been known to repeat itself throughout history. Nor can she even be racist towards white people because reverse racism does not exist.* 2nd correction. I think you should take yourself out of the picture and look at is as a whole. Just because you think you are an exception, does not make her statement any less true. Nothing about her comment was hypocritical, but again, there will always be that one white person, crying white tears, because someone of color threw some truth around. You know what makes the world a darker place? Banning locs in the workplace forcing people to strip themselves of their identity and culture simply to make a decent living, yet putting those same "ghetto" locs on runway models paying and praising them to appropriate a culture they know jack shit about. Like she said, You or any of your white counterparts are NOT ENTITLED TO MY CULTURE DESPITE WHAT YOU'VE BEEN TAUGHT.
All I'd like to say is that Africans actually adopted dreads from Europeans. Maybe try attending a history lesson once in a while.
you can't cry racism when you literally generalized a whole race of people. these generalizations only apply to a few actually racist people. you're literally saying that all white people fetishize black men, that's incredibly racist. and by the way, the dreads don't belong to your culture it actually started with the vikings and even indians. take a history lesson or do a simple Google search idiot.
ciarra brooks stop...locs do not belong to Blacks..that's ridiculous....it's a hairstyle....and its not your business if someone white or non black chooses to wear locs...like it or not culture(s)? are shared in America....It's like a White person saying you can't use computers or the Internet because it's White culture...and youre appropriating White culture...Whites developed these technologies....Most of the arguments of cultural appropriation is dumb imo...and you all are being bullies...I'm Black.
this is the cutest thing i've ever watch and sasha is so precious, give her all the roles!!!!
I love her hair and im white!!!
