Same here man, i just got Pensacola, and learning that one. And I know it's one video too late, but I was wondering why I kept getting b slapped in the face in tier 5 lol. Now it's just fun turning the tables lol
These "learn to play" series are just the best. I am learning more with these than anything else on TH-cam. Not just about the ships, but also strategy, planning, playing...
Quote, "there are very few T7 cruisers that I look at and go I adore this ship..." Ladies and Gentleman, may I present the Royal Navy T7 cruiser the Belfast.
I plan on start grinding the Des Moines line... These video's are very informative and a great help. Looking forward to the tier-8 and 9 stories... thank you.
Just catching up.with these L2P vids for tge US Heavy cruiser line as I am starting to grind this line to help out my clan with CW, and wondering what mods you are running and recommend from Aslains pack. Thanks In Advance
Still one of my all time favorite ships, both in real life and in game. Is she the best? No, that honor goes to Helena for this tier, but she is definitely in the top 5 for T7 cruisers for me personally. Workable, and can beat on anyone
One skill I'm finding myself picking up more and more on both my heavy and light cruisers is Last Stand, getting your engine or stearing gears knocked out seems to happen quite a bit more with the bigger ships, feels like more than it use to
It's definitely not a bad way to go for one point. I find it happens less with these ships than, say, Hipper and Yorck (where it happens even when an HE shell misses you completely and detonates in the water).
@@SeaRaptor Yeah, and the Spanish seem to be very similar, took a hit on the forward fire director of the T6, knocked out my engines...... I completely understand the logic for there being 'other skills I want more but I guess I've just played with Priority target for so long I can't bring myself to step away from it considering all the info it can give you.
I’m about to get this ship, and penssys turret traverse kind of makes the ship meh for me, so I’m interested in not having battleship turret traverse on my very agile and nimble cruiser.
Watching you go over the armor section reminds me that Indianapolis recently had her bow and aft sections buffed to 25mm. Is there any chance she could get her own video review or a mention in the comparison between Pensacola, New Orlins, and Baltimore?
I mean, possibly. At this point, Indianapolis is almost New Orleans with radar. That's not 100% accurate - NO has better AA, less detection, and a different aft superstructure scheme that makes her a little less vulnerable to full pens - but it's pretty close.
@@SeaRaptor awesome. Thank you. I use WOW approved modstation. Any chance, off the top of your head you know the name and under what category it's under?
I don't think that the entire team going one side is that bad.... if you imagine the battle line as being the line between your ships and the enemy ships, that line always shifts and moves around. Sure it's horizontal down the middle at the start of the battle, but if your entire team rushes to the West and you're alone on the east, follow that line and just retreat with your team once you start spotting. What will happen is your team will (hopefully) steamroll the enemy team in the west since they have superiority, and the battle line will slowly start to shift clockwise. Eventually that line will be vertical down the middle of the map (assuming equal skill from both teams) and really the battle will just happen through that vertical line in the middle instead of the horizontal one. I swear, I might have made it sound complicated but it's not. All you have to do is make that imaginary line be dynamic depending on what is happening. Most people have this concept sub-consciously understood when they start losing a flank. You retreat and make the line go vertically through your cap cuz you gotta protect the cap.
your team leave they positions because they have maximum 10 battles....after 3k battles u can tell, that u know a little bit of the game.its a real time strategy game.
Don't Abandon the FLANK! Also, Raptor. Your flank didn't rethink their stupidity. A flank decided to make way to your side and support. Essentially, the majority of the team did a Flank Switch. :D The Nagato and Nurnberg went all the way down H line and then all the way up 1/2 line. What bugs me about that style of gaming is the fact that the Nurnberg got 2nd and the Nagato pulled 5th. I would have been frustrated with them the entire match.
All depends on the range, of course. New Orleans' HE and AP shells have a pretty small gap in velocity - the HE shells are only a few percent slower than the AP - such that once you figure out about what the lead needs to be, you don't have to adjust it for ammo type like you do on some ships.
@@SeaRaptor Even at 5-10km I'm having to aim at the 4-6 verticle to hit the citadels on battleships. Basically max out my reticle if I want to hit a CA moving at 10km away.
Brand new to the game and working my way through the US heavy cruiser line, these videos have been a huge help.
You're most welcome!

Your commentary is second to none! Always love this kind of content, as well as the tourneys with you and Zath. Strong work. 👍

I'm speaking mainly of the tech tree, but Belfast would probably rank at T7. Of course, that's sort of because she's horribly, horribly broken. =)
Loving this series coming around again. Great commentary and teachables. Keep it up good sir!
Liking these in-depth analysis of these ships, sir. Loved grinding the American tech tree line.
I plan on start grinding the Des Moines line...

Love these video series! So detailed and informative! You're a true professional! Thank you sir!
Glad you like them!
i liked it back at tier 8 , i nicknamed it my Ninja Orleans
The Helena is a beast in 2024 Operations!
This is well timed, I just unlocked the New Orleans last night lol

I get this question a lot, so I think I'll do a video on it soon. That should help!

I started grinding the line I loved the cola as I call the tier 6 and just got the 7 its been fun i have learned not to get detected or u go boom XD
The RNG on a lot of those shots...yeah, that's not a normal New Orleans game.
Still good commentary on how to do well with it. Thanks!

Thank you for the video! In the top right of your screen, how are you getting all your resources displayed like that at the same time in that layout?
It's a mod. Should be available in both Aslain's and the official Mod Station, I should think.

Minor point: Bayern has 383mm guns. Nowhere near as good as Gneisenau +, but New Orleans’ bow won’t know the difference.
Good point!
