When I moved into my current place my garage had two cars in it and a spare sofa and chairs between them. Over the years the number of storage shelves and the number of cars increased. I have since had two major renovations. The sofa and chairs have long since gone, the garage now houses seven cars and some of my storage units are on rollers so I can move them when it's time to get one of five cars out. The remaining two are blocked in by the other cars, so getting those out is more hassle. But all in all I'm quite happy with the current set up, although admittedly it would work even better with just six cars.
Sounds like you’ve evolved it well! These things are always changing, the barn has taken so many forms over the last few years. And undoubtedly, will take many more!
Watching that felt....therapeutic. Thanks!
I’m glad! It feels so much better to go there now!
I wish someone would sponsor all my cleanups and remodelings. Maybe then I would be motivated 😅
It certainly gave me some enthusiasm!!
Good organisation for the new year✌️
Fresh start!
Gota love a workshop tidy 😂 I just got a 10x10shed, big enough for a long workbench, a little workbench, loads of shelving and 3 of my bikes ,
It’s always satisfying! Sounds great, everyone needs a shed!!
Glad you’re back 🎉🎉
Nice to have a clean barn for a new year!
Looking good. I'd like to see rusty be restored.
That’s all the convincing I need!
@HudsonAutoFilms whohoo🙆
Great work.
It’s good for you to have a better space to work in
Thanks! Absolutely, much easier to work in
Hi there. Hope you ok ? What a very satisfying episode. Its amazing how much clutter we build up when busy bee's. You both did a sterling job. I always try to tidy as I go but, it never works. Mind you its fun when you find something special you lost. Its like Christmas. Great the AMROV getting stardom. Hope we get a sneak preview....just a thought, if you raise the seating area a bit +/- half a meter, you can slide stuff in the space underneath....like ramps, lifts etc. Anyhoo! .......carry on the good work and looking forward to next video. God bless.
All ok here! Feeling a bit better at the moment! Very glad you enjoyed, it was hard work but worth it! It’s amazing what you uncover, so much I forgot about! I’ll be sure to post the pictures from the photoshoot!
Love the raised seating idea, I’ll have a think! Best wishes and hope all well with you!
Small tip, store spray paints on their side, and you won't find them plugged up down the line. Bonus that you can use all the vertical space on the shelf, just need to make "bookends" for both sides of the stack. Like stacking firewood.
I didn’t know that! And indeed, that will be great for saving space. Thanks!
Unless it's enamel paint, never store on the side. Cans are designed for upright storage. Side storage will result in propellant mixing with the paint, as the exposed surface is much larger.
Just wait, next week you will have forgotten where you moved everything to XD
I already have!
@@HudsonAutoFilms That's my weakness too XD
Amazing job! You’re looking a bit better, but still take care until your 100%!
Glad you're feeling better, this reminds me I must reorganise my workshop 🤔
We all must, every 5 years. When you can no longer walk in it!
Great work. Looks great. Have a good week. Marc from Australia 🇦🇺
Thanks Marc! Gave a great week!!
Intimidating levels of intrepid bravery! There isn't a week long enough for me to consider putting everything outside - even if I could find a glamorous assistant willing to risk it!
My "workshop" started out as a giant rusty barn full of scrap and manure. I had to empty and muck it out before welding a structure to the steel supports for my workbenches and stores.
Then I had to shoe-horn my 24' bus in with the help of a tractor.
Now that barn looks like it did when I first encountered it!!
_Good skillz._
Well done 👍 Haven‘t been to your channel for some weeks - Great achievements🍀
Hope you enjoyed! Thank you! Much nicer place to work :)
@ thank you for sharing - Good luck 🍀 with your Channel
Excellent job - I just worry that when you have two projects on the go, there may be another reorganisation!
Don’t worry! I’ve got a plan 😎
Those storage shelves are an excellent framework for an outside carport which would extend your work area 8' beyond the door. Just a few simple hand poured pads to support the shelves and then some low cost sheet metal to enclose the sides and make a shed roof
Have you done that? They seem very frail to hold up a building!
@@HudsonAutoFilms Yes, I did a similar thing 15 years ago when I had a lot of surplus parts from a closed warehouse. Those metal shelves when fastened together on the verticals and then sheeted with corrugated metal are rigid and strong enough to support a metal roof. The only load would be on the roof and that you would calculate based on the heaviest potential snow load. Metal roofs are good at shedding snow if they have a reasonable pitch and of course in case of unusual snow you would want to clear by hand. You only need to pour some concrete pads to establish your level, which can be done with pre-mix sacks. You did a good job organizing your space, but I think you can see that what you have now is a complete second building inside your shop. The only other consideration is required permits. It appears you are on a farm type location which may not have the same scrutiny as a residential area.
Great job and so nice to have a chill area..... take care👍✌️🇬🇧
I love it! Thanks for your support!
You have to feel better now! Nice job on the barn, a lot of work.
I absolutely do! It feels great to arrive there now. Before hand, I would dread it!!
I like that you have (what appears to be) a scale-model DeHavilland Vampire with Swedish livery hanging from your roof.
Indeed it is! I love it :)
Love a good tidy up video😊
Always satisfying!!
It would have been easier to build a barn over the stack outside !
That’s what I’ll do next time!
Nice work keep it up mate
Thank you mate!
Duplicates? It's always nice to, let's say, remove a 12mm nut from a bolt with two spanners where there isn't room for a socket on either end. When I worked on the sixties Minis, I had several of every size just to be able to have one to fit each restricted space in the engine compartment.
Spanners yes! I mean power tools mainly. Multiple old saws and drills that barely work. But also, maybe 30 hammers etc!
@@HudsonAutoFilms Dat's a lotta hammers, son.
Next step is some insulation and a heat pump 💪
On the list!
Oh epic! I decided if I want the garage this winter I'll buy one of those $400 heaters and cry about the power bill later. Southern hemisphere so still summer for now.
You can never have too many tools lol...
Very true!!
if only it stayed like that!!
Haha I’m going to try and stay on top of it. But we’ll see!
Do keep a sofa or two and have a well earned sit down 😁
Indeed! The concrete floor wouldn’t do! 😅
Tidying up is such hard work 😕
But well worth it!
2:22 I see some models on the desk. Which cars are they?
They’re Lotus Elites!
@@HudsonAutoFilms Corgi innit?
Do you fly the vampire anymore? planes are cool
I don’t, but maybe in the summer!
Mate, how many signs did you nick from Latitude?
I have 15 more around the back…
Crazily enough, I used to live near the festival and we found a whole stack dumped in the woods. At 15 years old it was the coolest bedroom art!
@@HudsonAutoFilms Nice. I once found a massive "F" behind a Safeway carpark while I was skateboarding there. Was a pain to carry home, but it was worth it
Waiting for the 6 month later video 😂😂😂😂😂
It will be nice for a day or so!!
Is it wrong that i didn't see much of a problem with it before?
Each to their own!
Nice...transformation mod😅
😎😎
How is the world's RUSTIEST Supercar doing nowadays?
The chassis is gone! But the body is good!
Sooo much effort, outstanding result!! Well done!
Thank you! Very worth it, but was a nightmare job!!
