I love the way you talked about the perfumes, and the stuff you talked about. There was no unnecessary rambling or not enough information like in most per,fume collection videos. This is my favorite one I saw so far :))

Also, if you did want to extract wood scents naturally, one way would simply be to macerate the wood with water and distill the fragrance .

I was passing by Victoria's Secret today and thought I'd purchase their 'Bombshell' perfume (having smelled it before). They actually have a new fragrance line i.e 'Love is Heavenly' and thought I'd just try it. I smelled it once... and just loved it instantly. It's an interesting perfume and smells sophisticated. It's not their typical fruity smell. You might like it.
As to how you get woods, crushed leaves, or any other smell in a perfume - they are synthetically created. Perfumes rarely utilize natural fragrance oils these days.
My favorite perfume of all time is Dolce & Gabbana Rose the One.

I'm so curious.. what is on your dogs? I couldn't tell if it was clothing. :) Most woods aren't as dry as people think, and the wood oil can be taken and produced/refined into a perfume oil. The most common woods are sandalwood, agarwood, and cedarwood. I've also seen mohogany used too.

I have to make another comment sorry, but when you said you have "the stupidest reasons for liking things" you were wrong :P Licorice has an ingredient call "Aniseed" in it, which gives it that distinctive flavour :) That's what you can smell in the perfume.
You should try Katy Perry perfume you will love it!!! Its in a pink kitty cat bottle.

Wow, interesting! It seems we have similar choices, I am sure you gonna love Jor'el Parker Classico by Harvey Prince. It's sweet but spicy ..... quite distinct. I think you'd like 'Twilight Woods' by B&BW and True Religion..I think that's the name, its the one for women. Those perfumes are some of my all time favorites!
