Men have to be men... boys have to be boys. That is wisdom. So glad to hear someone of his caliber laugh off the ridiculous idea of "toxic masculinity".

Masculinity isn't toxic..... masculinity is natural.

People aren’t saying masculinity is toxic. They’re saying toxic masculinity is, well toxic. It’s like how all relationships aren’t bad, but toxic ones are. Hope this helps!

Royce is correct! Most bullies are insecure and soft! When you stand your ground and not fold, confidence, integrity, strength and respect is earned!

No you stand your ground the bullies go crying to the adults and YOU get in trouble.

That didn't work for me. They are insecure, but when you push back, they just know they've got you. When you do nothing, they walk all over you. You can't win.

Training Gracie jiujitsu has been a such a joy. I think everyone should learn it and learn how to monsters yet keep it under control.

Men and women were designed differently. We need to embrace these differences and not blur the lines.

Nobody should be a willing victim of a bully. I am a female that taught my son's not to be victims. I taught my son's to like themselves but I also taught them to fight. I insisted my husband wrestled with them and teach them to fight. Not so they can go around beating up people. It's so when the bullies came they could defend themselves. I was never bullied as a child because I fought back or walked away. It was attempted bullies. I don't even get bullied as an adult because I don't allow it. I gained mine out of survival skills and not masculinity. Yet when I had nothing but sons I understood the importance of them learning what I had learned. Though I probably would have thought a daughter to take care of herself also. Not to be a victim. I learned at a very early age that very powerful bullies existed. Unfortunately that sometimes in order to survive a violent bully you had to be violent. So I taught my sons to fight back and to like themselves enough to protect themselves and not care about what people say. Every bully I've ever met is insecure or soft even though they tried to outwardly present differently. Every one of them is highly toxic. There is nothing toxic about putting them in their place. I think it was last summer but I had to deal with some people. I talked with my neighbor guy over the fence all the time. My husband's been dead for 10 years so it doesn't matter. It's just talking to the neighbor guy about the yard or whatever. This guy is always bragging to me about how nonviolent he is. He wouldn't do this and that. I think he might possibly be trying to impress. Trust me it doesn't impress. Show some guys were circling the neighborhood in a truck. They were and rather suspicious and parking staring at people. I couldn't tell whether they were serious or just trying to freak people out. Guess who had to chase these people off? Yeah I don't want to be a man. However my neighbor guy is a very weak man. That I find to be very toxic. I was forced as a female to Chase these guys away. I had to put on my best fake out attitude and get them out of here. Oh it's not just the boys. I shouldn't have to try to act like a man.

Royce Gracie is a legend! I remember the early UFC fights and people thinking what is this BJJ?!?! Now everyone in the fight game knows that they better learn at least a little bit if they want to have any chance at all!

Is this the Gracie who stomped his unconscious opponent's throat? Quite a family there.

You can't stand up to bully whom has a cop friend and then his cop friend also his dad's cop so it makes it really difficult cuz they can frame you for all kinds of shit so easy.

It's easy to get "framed" if you lead a life of crime, resist arrest, lack father's discipline, etc.

No, because to use self defence you have to practice it everyday on the off chance you might get bullied. Also, while learning judo as a teenager, I was able to flip my stocky 40-year-old teacher over my back. But that's because my teacher stood there and let me. But in a real life situation where a man fought back, he pinned me to the ground in half a second. Also, an asperger boy was getting bullied by girls but being a boy, if he did judo on a girl, he'd be the one who gets in trouble and I once worked in a nursing home. The staff were getting bullied by the grannies! But if we did judo on a granny, we'd be the ones who get into trouble.

3:30 Being an adult doesn’t make a teacher an “expert” on human behavior or having valid conflict resolution skills; it just makes them an authority figure. Learn the difference, please!
