  • This video is Part III of a projected three-part series, with an added epilogue. When complete, the episodes will be edited and combined in a single video. This segment tells the story of how crafty modernists before Vatican I first attacked reason by denigrating Saint Thomas Aquinas. They then undermined faith by declaring Saint Philomena never existed. Finally, they convinced many people they had more authority and power than the pope. People became confused about what was true and what was false. Many stopped going to Mass, some left the Church, and others stopped believing in anything.
How did this happen? Much of the blame goes to one man, Monsignor John A. Ryan of the Catholic University of America. By supporting modernism, socialism, and the New Age, Ryan convinced many people to base their religious beliefs on their politics. The orthodox way is to conform politics to religious beliefs as far as possible but without harming the right of others to believe as they wish.
Ryan then convinced many people modernism and socialism were authentic Catholic teaching when they are obviously contrary to natural law based on reason. He also claimed New Age thought was consistent with Catholic doctrine! During the Great Depression of the 1930s, Ryan persuaded many Catholics to accept the New Deal, even though others, like Dorothy Day, were opposed to it.
World War II destroyed the Catholic social movement in Europe, leaving Ryan’s distorted version in America in a dominant position, and sound reason that supported true faith discredited in the eyes of many Catholics. This was a disaster, for when some Vatican bureaucrats decided to remove some “unnecessary” saints’ feast days from the official calendar, the modernists declared this meant Saint Philomena - who supported faith - never existed.
That was a lie, of course, as anyone should have been able to reason . . . but Ryan and other modernists had destroyed reason, and now destroyed the faith of many people as they spread confusion after Vatican II by making many unnecessary changes and distorting necessary changes.
It is no wonder why the Church is so divided today, along with the rest of society and even marriage and family. Adherents of the rei novae, the “New Things” of modernism, socialism, and the New Age, have done their work well, and have made great advances in their goal of abolishing organized religion, private property, and marriage and family - and with the active help of many in the Catholic Church, who think socialism is authentic Catholic social thought, and modernism and the New Age is orthodox theology! That's the modernists' claim. It doesn't hold up on examination., as Part IIa of this series demonstrates.
