So, you could have self cancelling one of two other ways and both would eliminate the cancel ring. Could use a simple timing module, pretty cheap option but you only have one duration choice. A second choice would be to use a module from Speedway Motors. That module costs a little over $100 but it'll give you a couple of durations based on how long you hold the signal in either position. Just another idea to ditch the cancel ring 🙃
Hahahahaa, one of the worst designed parts on VWs for sure. I'm always surprised when I drive a VW and the turn signals automatically cancel like they're supposed to 😁
Happy Fourth Of July ! 🇺🇸 Turn signaling in Florida is nonexistent ! Obviously you have your hands full. Busy is good in these tough times. Thanks, RickGTI….. 🌴
Fiddly bits on old cars are always a pita 😆 good call on the frunk, no clear on it 👍🏻 painter rushed it. How does that leave the painter that way ??? Happy Independence Day! 🇺🇸
It looks like a frustrating day for you, trying to get all the aftermarket turn signal parts to work together. Fingers crossed, you have it right now, so it keeps working. And slightly annoying the cal-look has to go back for paint corrections, but best to spot and sort them now rather than later in the build! The areas you cleaned up underneath look a lot better already!
@@VintageClassicSpecialist Totally understandable, I've been watching your video's and I have to say you do great work and take pride in what you do! Not too many people do this anymore.
Great channel .
Thanks 🙏

Those are great to know about, thanks!!! 🙏
I gave up trying to get the turn signal to cancel and just put a buzzer on the flasher to tell me when the signal was flashing!

@@VintageClassicSpecialist But all the drivers here in California don't use their turn signals anyway!

Thanks! So far so good, even after I fixed the new horn issue. Always something! The paint, yes a bit annoying for sure!
Quick question. Would you work on a vw jetta 91? Paint interior upholstery engine suspension ?
I'm sorry, we only work on aircooled VWs from the early 70's and older.
Wouldn't it been easier to take the body off and send it to paint, then you could do all the cleaning and other work to the chassis?
This is a partial restoration, doing a full body off adds a lot of expense. Trying to keep this one on a budget for this guy 😊
