This video is absolutely CRAZY. It's seriously impressive how your teaching skills can explain someone to go from creating simple cube objects to fully lighting and rendering a scene in roughly 25 minutes. You've made my university's animation class a lot simpler
I'm really glad I could help you out dude
Ayo I’m also in uni doing animation
I am a beginner of modelling can I use blender
@@GameDevAcademy You are a great teacher
You can even learn programming languages with you
@@GameDevAcademy Maya can do things in video clips or pictures of porn stars like talking to each other or kissing each other.
Or shooting someone else?
the way you inject subtle comedy into your tutorials is what really sets you apart from other content creators on TH-cam, Easy to follow and entertaining to listen to, everything a good teacher needs to be. :)
Thanks dude. The humour is for me really. I get bored easily!
This video is such a huge help. Every now and then, I watch this to refresh my mind whenever I get stuck in MAYA. I was surprised with the technique used in the chair, I'll be applying what I've learned to my future outputs. Thank you, and keep up the good work. I'll be looking forward to watching your future content.
Honestly once explained it's fairly intuitive. Thank you for breaking it down so nicely for us newbies! Can't wait to play with the full version
I was trying to follow along with the tutorial that came with the MAYA software itself and I was so lost. This helped IMMENSELY. All the buttons are so much less daunting when you know what most of them do!
you're a great teacher, love the simplicity, with details! subbed!
Thanks, I always watch these beginner videos because sometimes even though you are an experienced user, sometimes you might actually learn something basic that you either learned once and forgot or never knew and there is almost always something in that category.
As a illu major who only uses photoshop and adobe this was such a amazing video! i've always wanted to use maya but was too scared too because of the interface! this is so helpful and quick to the point! i'm saving this to come back too!
Just started blender and now I see your THIS INTO THIS and its exactly what I need. Cute and low poly. And it somehow reminds me of the editing in Unity already.
Hope you enjoy it!
@@GameDevAcademyI did! Great video indeed!
That was the most encouraging and exciting Maya tutorial I have ever seen. Nothing was too intimidating, and your pacing is perfect. Thank you for inspiring me and my wife to dive into Maya. We're very excited to follow all of your Maya tutorials. Please keep them coming!
That's how wo do things here at Game Dev Academy! I hope you and your wife enjoy getting to grips with Maya!

Thanks dude. I'm pretty happy with this one.
This video has helped me so much. You explained everything better than my teachers. THANK YOU!!!
Hi I am looking to use Maya for both educational work and my own creative pursuits. This is the first tutorial for Maya that I found incredibly helpful and engaging! How you present in your energetic manner kept me attentive to the whole thing and complete it without falling asleep. Thank you!
Love how easy you make it feel! Lovely lesson really enjoyed it!
Thank you! Please keep posting and sharing . I’ve learned so much
Omg this is so good this is the first time im having fun while following a maya tutorial. Thank you so much!!!
Who says learning can't be fun, right?
Dude, I'm trying to transition from Max to Maya and this was such a wonderful break down of the basics. Such a great starting point for an old schooler like myself.
Glad I could help you out Marv
It really worked for me after I look and try some tutorials, yours is the one that worked. Owe you a lot.
This lession is so incredible and explains a lot of things just for 20 minutes. The best lesson ive ever seen
Dude if you think this is good you should check out my full 4 and a half hour tutorial - I really went to town on that one!
@@GameDevAcademy yes, I've seen this video in recommendations. I just preparing myself for this hot stuff. 👍👌
You made everything really easy to understand!
I learned a lot, thank you so much for this!! :D
You're welcome. Thanks for the kind comment.
This is such a good intro. Having something tangible at the end is encouraging. You worked out the lesson so people are constantly creating while learning, instead of having to digest a ton upfront. So good!
Thanks Peter. I put a lot of time into creating my courses to make sure that they're engaging and that the learning curve is never too steep. I'm glad this has worked for you.
My 4 and a half hour Maya course is even better
great tutorial, I'm learning maya after learning blender and this is a whole new dimension for me.
Thanks for giving us this tutorial. I'll be studying this 3D modeling for my college, and it was required for me to learn some basics. We can use this in architecture, interior designing or for animation and the explanations was very neat. I've been struggling how to use this application to be honest since it was very complicated at first. Thanks for tutorial. ❤
Literally the best tutorial. Engaging and educational thank you so much!
You're welcome Jessica. Please share this video with anyone else that you think might find it useful.
you are a life saver
thank you so much for the easy and useful tutorial all love and support
Holy hell. This is extremely concise and manages to teach what my school fails to in 20 minutes instead of somehow stretching it to a week.
I'm a very good teacher 😉
thank you maaan !! this is the most fun and helpful video about Maya I've seen.
You're welcome. I am glad you like my approach
very nice and encouraging tutorial, it helped me a lot in gaining confidence as a complete beginner. please consider making more maya tutorials in the future.
the best and easy to follow! thank you
Thanks From the bottom of my Heart ❤
This was SOOOOO helpful! I like how simple you kept it. I was able to get caught up a lot faster to where I need to be in my school modeling class right now. I really appreciate the great tutorial. And it was fun the way you added extra little MEME pics:)
I also have a more detailed tutorial you can follow if you're looking to get caught up
Subscribed to your channel as I really liked the way you explain things. Keeping it simple and concise with the ocasional meme and joke makes it very interesting to watch! Gratz!
Thanks and welcome
Absolutely wonderful tutorial! Love your sense of humor and thank you so much for the great instruction 😊
Thanks dude. I'm glad you liked the tutorial :)
I love your videos, so helpful! Thank you
This actually helped me a lot with some of the stuff I didn't know about Maya
I am very glad to hear that.
this 20 minute video was more helpful than than my lecturer explaining theses same thing for about 4 hours..... thank you so much
Seriously. I think many times teachers forget that they already know how everything works, so they forget to break their instruction down to the simplest step/idea. It's like they're afraid of insulting people's intelligence but fail to realize that the reality is that 99% of people who are learning this stuff won't actually get insulted. This stuff is complicated but a good teacher makes it uncomplicated.
Ima download it thanks for sharing!!
This video is amazing for how it covers the basics of Maya along with having funny moments that go along very nicely while teaching the material. You make this really easy and simple to follow along with and having impressive skills that go from creating a simple cube to this nice work environment. As this was really helpful for me going into Blender for the first time. Thank you Game Dev Academy.
You're very welcome. Thanks for leaving such a kind comment.
This is freaking gold. Like Blender Guru's Donut level gold. Thank you sir for explaining everything so well. Saved my life.
You are most welcome. I do also have a more in depth tutorial if you want to continue learning
damn, what an excellent tutorial. I've used maya before, but only ever created basic models, not full rooms like this. This video really did help a lot, and I learnt more from this than the 7 months of school I had attended to learn this stuff. I know the tutorial is a little old at this point, but I'm also still using Maya 2022 (for stability reasons), so that doesn't matter so much. Plus very little has actually changed.
Keep up the good work!
This software is so sick. I wasn't sure what to expect but this video was great
Woah, great video mate!

Great Tutorial, easy to follow... You should include in the beginning how to setup and create your project with the correct folder structure so that everything is organised.
The project set up is included in my longer Maya tutorial but I left it put of this one to keep it shorter.
