So weird to see this. Here in Germany this is not nearly such a big deal. When I left school we had something which kinda counts as a prom (called "Abiball"). Most people didn't even had a partner and just enjoyed the whole thing with their friends. I remember talking with my best friend after class, then her boyfriend came in and was like "Hey, quick question: Wanna go to the Abiball together?", she was like "Yeah sure.", then he was like "Okay, see you later" and left the room xD
