  • J.Cole pays homage to a hip hop heavyweight The Notorious BIG by performing "Hypnotize"! What was believed to be a fan favorite "who dat" performance turned into history in the making when the beat of Hypnotize dropped and J.Cole went in! Great festival set for J.Cole @ Air + Style!

      @VIISkies ปีที่แล้ว +6

      @@mcdeezyofficialmost 90s rap beats are simply timeless because of the real-instrument sound due to the nature of the sampling tech they had at the time. There was no crazy synthetic beats with super heavy 808s. Place the beat for Hypnotize, Put It On, 93’ Til Infinity, etc next to “old school” style beats made today and there’s a very clear difference.

    You can’t replicate that kind of energy; you can’t even obtain that level of energy. Kendrick is king but god damn J.Cole got that unreachable level of energy in his shows.

      No, they're the J. Cole and Kendrick Lamar of this era. There shouldn't be a Tupac, Biggie, Nas, Jay-Z, etc. of any era but the era they came up in. Just let Cole and Kendrick be themselves and people will be comparing future rappers to them.
