These jacks are a must have! I'm glad you did a review of how it works. I have had mine for ten years and it still works great. It fits my Harley sportster and my DR650 perfectly.

thank you for posting this! I like to work on my bike alone and without someone to help me get the bike upright to get on the lift I've always been a bit nervous about it... seeing this video has given me the confidence that it is possible to do it safely (minus the shaking perhaps lol)

Great instruction. I just picked up the same lift at Harbor Freight for $106 (US) delivered. Never used one before snd your video will come in might handy when I go to use it on my Honda Shadow for the first time.

When the bike is up you're supposed to let the safety mechanism down and then release the hydraulic pressure so it just drops and rest's on the safetymechanism, the stand becomes really steady then. Bike will hardly move at all.

Hey Mark, I just purchase a similar jack today from Canadian Tire and have just finished assembling it. I came across your video tonight as i'm looking for tips on how to jack up my bike safely and easily. Your video did not disappoint! I'm now looking forward to bringing my bike up tomorrow. I've been riding bikes for 5 years but have only just touched the surface of maintaining my own bike -partly because my current bike, a Triumph Scrambler, is so easy to work on.

Nice review! Just picked this one up today. No instructions with mine. If you screw both those locking screws down and lock the casters and flip both those safety latches / lock bars down jus behind a lock ridge then lower the lift to where all the weight is on the safety latches / lock bars you might get better stability. And may extend the life of the hydraulics. I'm thinking just use the jack to lift it far enough to get some blocks underneath then lower the bike onto the blocks.

Once this is at its full position if you then removed the back wheel or front would this effect the balance? Would it topple over

It's funny watching "classic biker bits" compared to how much more comfortable you have become on the camera. You should order yourself a "snap jack" for use on your adventure bike. And make a video for that. It raises only your rear tire without a center stand. Making chain adjustment on the road easier. Sadly the snap jack can not be used on cruisers with chain drives. :(

you should never shake the bike to check if it's stable, if it's not it will slip off and fall and you will not be able to catch a 600+ pound bike . Better to double and triple check the frame is is seating well on the jack.
