Im proud of myself still having my dad's nintendo 64 and having the original game, and also having Mario 3D All-Stars, this game is truly unforgivable and amazing in the day of today.
I remember a time before social media playing this game making it so special to me due to it having such strong nostalgic memories.

:) was an awesome game! Great one to start on. I honestly couldn't tell you which was my first. It could have been one of three. My father and older brother has a NES, and a SNES. And we had Super Mario Bros 1 & 3 for NES. And we had gotten Super Mario World too for the SNES. But I don't think I was too consciously aware of what I was playing the first time I played a Mario xD. My older brother was a bit excited to have someone to play games with at home.
Its lovely to see the youngers feeling the nostalgia and good memories for the DS release of this wonderful game. I was 5 years old when my dad got me a copy for the 64, over two decades ago 🥲
I agree. It is refreshing to see that there were tons of people who got to enjoy the DS version. Being the version with tons more content in it and all, I always felt like I didn't appreciate this version nearly as much as the N64 version. But I imagine it had to do with the fact that Game Cube was so good I couldn't help but focus on it's titles over my DS. The DS ended up being more or less my multiplayer machine and time killer with Animal Crossing, Nintendogs, and a few others.

the superior Mario 64 game.
People should like this one better for plenty reasons;
It has 4 playable characters, Mario Luigi, Wario, and Yoshi. Along with much better graphics.
However, it does have its downsides like;
Wonky controls, and no BLJ.
This, New Super Mario Bros., and Mario Kart DS were my first Mario games. I absolutely miss the DS era. Had so many fond memories playing these games at school and camp!

The differences in this version compared to the OG are the addition of Yoshi, Luigi, & Wario & Peach’s hairstyle
This game is so nostalgic. Remember playing this as a kid. Never knew what to do. All I would do is run around in circles around the castle. The farthest I could get to was getting in the castle. But still this game will always be special to me. It was my first Nintendo game after all on my ds.

Played this game as a 10YO and oh man flushes in so many memories. I had never been able to beat the fat yellow guy and get past that stage after playing so hard and I don't remember playing this game after that probably having lost the game card (not sure what we called those). Instant nostalgia.

Someone help me please! I have the light shining down but I can’t seem to get Into that level where you get the wing cap. Please help me what buttons do I press or is there a specific spot I gotta stand in? Also have way more than 10 stars. Is that a problem?
What you have to do is move the camera in to first person view then as Mario only look up at the light. Then you will transport to that wing cap stage.
And stand in that little spot where the light shines exactly on.

Please somebody help me. In my latest run of 64 DS, the moving yellow and black poles on the net in “Dire, Dire Docks” “Pole-jumping for red coins” aren’t there…Is it a glitch..? If it is does anybody know how to solve it? I’ve seen the same problem in other runs on TH-cam too.. (I know I can take the red coins anyway with the power flower, but I don’t know why)
