Im good with woodworking and i recommend you use a router because there are router bits that will put a perfect bevel on it and round over the handle, but you do very nice work, a router would just save you a lot of time
you could buy pine in planks and then glue em together to make the board you need. its normal and common way to make large piece you need and all you need is wood clue and something to hold em together tightly while glue dries. and you cut the piece the broke from wrong direction it might have holded that way and it should hve been supported more that small pieces tend to broke if cutted freely.
Might you try using a wood working plane, or just anything bigger in general to cut down on the time making the bevel on the long ends of the sword? I'm not a woodworker but, even using just a clamp on a table and/or a wider sanding bit or a solid routing bit would allow you to make multiple easier passes to cut away the waste material (with more control using that handheld dremel) and then come back in the end to do the details, rather than cutting away all the waste AND doing the details with the same bit. That said, it came out nice! Hope to see more newer variety along with the classy SAO and KH stuff~ ;D

It's pine board, I think it's about 3/4 inch thick! I just sharpened the point the dremmel the same way I sharpened the sides! Didn't think it was necessary to show since I sharpened the rest of it that way! c:

Alicia wow no it’s pretty light since most of the weight is lost when I planed down the blade :) If you have the right tools for it I reckon you build it yourself and could get it done in time! :D

You are crazy not just using sand paper on things like rounding the handle, s much easier for you, looks awesome, try sanding down the whole sword should help stopping the wood grain look.
i would of made the handle a little bit thinner and the overall sword looks great :D hope you see this and i hope you are going to continue to make videos and more kickass swords :D :D :D
It was 115cm long and I think 30cm across! I got it from a big hardware store! It was packaged as a pine shelf, which annoyingly doubled the cost, but it's the wood I use for all my swords!

Elucidator turned out great! I would love to see you make Dark Repulser or Lambient Light (from SAO). Also, OH MY GOD I WISH I HAD THOSE WOOD TOOLS! I make all my swords with foam board, cardboard and pre-cut wooden dowels. They turn out okay, but I have to be very careful swinging it around.

Chose to use a matte varnish instead of a gloss one because it would have made it look cheap/plastic imo, but that's just my style preference! Glad you enjoyed it!

u can add highlights and shadows for more cool details and also use spray paint its realy good for metalic look
