hi Manny just wonder if you can explain the issues with deleting a desil truck, its really making me nervous is it leagle to do it and will matt warranty one if its deleated and what year of ford do you recommend thanks Manny
tim wilhoite I would not do it! Friend told me his friend was ordered to re-install equipment, (not sure if he was fined) I know, friend of a friend is hearsay Not worth getting on DOTs bad side. It will unequivocally affect your warranty. Only looking out!
People don't realize in your later videos that you don't pretend to be an expert. You're just in the Middle of a learning process and want to share it. I've seen people post things like "Oh he's only been doing this for a few months..." They're implying a deception, when really you've been open about this journey from the beginning. So keep on.
js , no I live in Houston area. I bought my truck originally to pull my 5th wheel. I got it here in Houston. your start up cost will vary but if your starting from scratch. I would figure about 3 to 5 Grand , not including the cost of the truck
FYI ,I had to run 2 sets of mudflaps on my truck when I was with Horizon. Its really up to the company. I dont run any at the moment since Im srw and have mudflares on my truck. Ive never had problems and I now I rarely run new Rvs so its not an issue for me . It really depends on the terrain you typically run in. Its not black and white ,thats for sure
HI Manny how much money do I need im thinking of going with classic rv trans. the didn't say to bring any money I will have my dot medical card and my class A license thanks
tim wilhoite Tim I would call the company and ask them what deposits they require I would also asked how strict they are on what type of equipment you need on your truck that'll give you an idea of what kind of expenses your going to have and count on spending two or three nights at a hotel and meals for that time so that the very minimum I would say at least $500. in my case I took 1500 and by the time I added equipment paid deposits insurance excetera my spent all of it so you really need to ask them all the questions to make sure that you've got enough money for everything and ask him if they take checks credit cards cash I had to go to my bank and get checks made because they wouldn't take credit cards or cash when I was paying my insurance which I was required to have thanks Manny
im not sure what insurance you are talking about I will have full coverage on it they said they would cover the cargo also classic rv said they would take 10 percent out of each load to put in escrow up to 1,500 to cover any damages that might be my fault do I need a certain kind of insurance, also I m kind of nerves over the written log book even though I have my class A license I only ran local with a tanker is it fairly simple, also in orientation do you road test in your truck or theirs. THANKS FOR YUR REPLY SO SOON
tim wilhoite depends on gear ratio but the duallys don't have a ratio as high(numerically lower) as mine. y ratio is 3.55 ,I get 18-19 mpg empty and average 11 loaded. I've heard duallys are getting about couple of miles less unloaded and about the same loaded.
tim wilhoite I concur! Biggest difference is maintenance cost but worth the towing capacity If you have CDL license. 2016 & newer Ram 3500 dully Is 30,000 pounds towing capacity
How is your work schedule? I'm a firefighter and I work 24hr/48 off. I was looking to get into RV hauling is it possible to do short runs and be home for work the next shift?
rcvidzOshiit Key is where you live Depends on where transport companies have there current delivery contracts. Right now most companies deliver to Texas. That can change any time though. So if you live in Texas, you'll drive to Indiana for RV pick-up & maybe all delivered in 3 days time & home. If you are far from delivery contract (RV store) it will still work but after delivery you'll be driving home with out income but gas expense. Will eat into you profit. If far from delivery areas you will have to drive from 2 to 3 weeks to reduce your gas cost (maintenance & wear/tear) on your truck.
Ever wonder why they have to keep hiring 1000's upon 1000's ever year, year after year? ... it's not necessarily because people die off. if you start talking to the people who live in Elk Heart and Goshen, you may get some sobering information on the delivery business. They know the dirty secrets the industry hopes you wont realize until they get 100K on your truck
you cant make enough doing that to pay for your expenses, not to mention replace or even maintain your truck. It wont hit you till your truck starts needing repairs after you have racked up mileage and the value diminishes so bad. Start reading around the forums. It's seams nice at first but you will lose in the end. The dispatchers see you as just another chicken! Sorry guy
JukeBoxBear. You have to pay at least on a 24 month schedule for a new truck to keep from getting caught under with your truck. His $55K truck should get $2,300 month payments right off the top to justify it. The problem is not realizing what it really costs to run it.
JukeBoxBear This is why you buy a 2-3 year old truck. On its first few years, a new truck will depreciate 25% of msrp. To much of a loss to be stuck with a 6 year truck loan. Used truck can give you easy 500k mile (with proper consistent maint.) I have a 2015 ram 3500 (already had it before got in business). Because it had less then 36,0000 mile & less then 3 years from insevice date it qualified & I got a 4 year/ unlimited miles warranty
Appreciate the the videos that was a question..lol

Do you live close to horizon? Did you buy your truck just for this job? What is the start up cost for all the equipment you need for your truck?
js , no I live in Houston area. I bought my truck originally to pull my 5th wheel. I got it here in Houston. your start up cost will vary but if your starting from scratch. I would figure about 3 to 5 Grand , not including the cost of the truck
Hey ,will the regular mudflaps do?
FYI ,I had to run 2 sets of mudflaps on my truck when I was with Horizon. Its really up to the company. I dont run any at the moment since Im srw and have mudflares on my truck. good job!!!!
hi Manny just wondering if you know the difference for fuel millage between a dually and a single wheel both being f350 thanks Manny be safe
tim wilhoite

rcvidzOshiit
Yes ts possible. I heard from a friend that Indiana Transport was more consistent with runs even though there few cents less per mile
rcvidzOshiit
Key is where you live

this is great, im considering this as well. hows it going so far?
Jordan Fulton so far it's going as planned. I made 3 runs and came home on the 3rd. the money is good as long as you manage your road expenses.
How old do i have to be
Is the drug test hair follicle or urine?
Urine
Thanks brother.
Thanks brother!

JukeBoxBear, thanks for the comment. keep the coming.
but can you elaborate. sounds like I'm out of loop on what your talking about
