Умножить на сопряженный множитель
1/((sqrt 5-sqrt 3)/2+(sqrt 7-sqrt5)/2)
Тогда
1/((sqrt 7-sqrt 3))/2=2/(sqrt 7-sqrt 3)=(sqrt 7+sqrt 3)/2
И никаких лишних замен

Simplifying a numerical expression using factoring and rationalisation is not algebra, there's no unknown. The goal behind using of the word algebra is to impress an audience. A mathematician is not supposed to play this kind of game; leave that to politicians.
It is algebra. You know there are computer algebra systems trying to simplify radicals, without numerical evaluation and this is NOT solved 100%
You make a valid point. Simplifying numerical expressions using factoring and rationalization is more about arithmetic than algebra, as there's no unknown variable involved. The use of the term 'algebra' might indeed be misleading in this context.

Решала так же. И ответ тот же. Только для того, чтоб понять, что (1+2**1/2)**3=7+5*2**1/2, что неочевидно, решала систему х**3+6*х*у**2=7
3*х**2*у+2*у**3=5, где искомое число=х+у**2**1/2
Правую часть умножаем, а левую где х почему не умножаем?
Отличный способ решения! Действительно, соотношение (1+2^(1/2))^3 = 7 + 5 * 2^(1/2) неочевидно, и система уравнений помогает прояснить ситуацию. Приятно видеть такие интересные подходы!

It is not related to "Olympiad". It is just a middle level to hard level question in normal middle school (grade 7-9) exam. Everything used here is basic knowledge. Middle to hard level: if there are level 1 to 10 (larger means harder), the question should be in level 7 - 8.

They didn't put 5.5, they put 5•5.
Root 25= Root 5.5= 5 (they are all equal)

Look at the whole numerator. (√5 + √7) is present twice. It can be factored out.
a(c + d) + b(c + d) = (a + b)(c + d).

0:03 during your solution you dropped a lot of facts: the sqrt of any number is +/-
Also when you divide by a symbol you should suppose that it is not zero
No sqrt of a constant number is always positive…only when sqrt of a variable say x is taken it become mod x which becomes +/- x

Why he schould not use dots? It's for multiplication.

rt 25 = rt(5 x 5) = rt5 x rt5. Which is also 5
Plus he did it to factorize the numerator tonget (rt3 + rt5)(rt5 + 7)
@dinum9401 Well, generally when people use multiplication in algebra They use dots to not confuse with the multiplication symbol (x) with x the most common letter
used for algebra. Like instead of 3xx it'll be 3∙x make it less confusing.
But yeah the admin could've at least explained himself instead of just deleted it
@@malteschluter4516 “Why he should not use dots? It's for multiplication.” No! The character ‘.’ is not a multiplication dot, it is a period dot. This is how it looks in the scripture, and this is the only problem. Star * is also not a good operator character, it is used only in programming.

In my opinion, the graphic editor is *not* the big problem. It is showing all of the routine algebraic manipulations one after another instead of what might be done on a blackboard by crossing out and replacing.
x = something
y = something-equivalent
is used instead of x = {something} {something else}
or
x = something = something-else
Showing all of the intermediate steps *may* be appropriate for those not practiced in algebra. However, this level of detail takes up more visual space and obscures the underlying *insights* which are the most important.
One thing done well here is using substitution of variables instead for raw numbers. I enjoy it more when a problem is solved in somewhat abstract fashion, then back-substituted at the end.
Just my opinion. I am probably *not* the target audience at which this video may be directed. When I was in school, back when dinosaurs roamed the earth, calculators were large *mechanical* beasts which were used for business and accounting. We just had pen and paper, math tables and slide rules.
