People should never compare prices in India and US. Local Commodities are priced as per the purchase power of individual. US has higher per capita income compared to India, that's the reason everything seems expensive.

Normal Roti is made with wheat flour, and healthy. Something we have everyday for lunch and dinner (and even breakfast sometimes). Naan, Rumali Roti (super thin bread) and every bread you saw in the video is made of refined flour and absolutely not healthy. But then obviously they are more tasty (like junk food). So you can have them like once or twice a month. Even the spicy curries are healthy if they are made with "less spices and oil"

    Disclaimer TMI
Delhi(which is most generically used, i use it as capital of India) have 7 district.
New Delhi, old Delhi, north west, south etc.
India's capital is in a union territory called - *The National Capital Territory (NCT) of Delhi*(but often called as Delhi).
New Delhi district of NCT of Delhi contains all three govt. body(federal/central) buildings (supreme court, President's office, parliament office three buildings which make capital of a country. For better understanding try finding capital of South Africa, SA have three capitals as all three buildings lies in three different cities) which make a deeper breakdown(just district from whole UT) of city as a Capital. Luckily White House, US Capitol and supreme court lies in District of Colombia, which is a federally alloted space, doesn't comes under any other state or governing body, but New Delhi lies in a bigger body called The NCT of Delhi.
When these vlogger come to India and visit Delhi they vist whole union territory (multiple districts).
Delhi itself is very generic term just like the word Gravity. what is it when you say gravity? Gravitational acceleration , gravitational force, gravitational attraction, but we understand what one meant by word Gravity when uttered because we have a general understanding of what one might have asked, from the context. Similarly it is same for Delhi(generic word), Indians use it too often and take what others meant by it, but foreigners can't and will continue to face difficulty if you won't learn basic geography of country, specially when reacting to that country for over a year.
No harsh feelings, sorry for grammatical mistakes (if any).

Old Delhi refers to the walled city (8th city made in Delhi) built by Mughal Emperor Shah Jahan in 1638. New Delhi refers to the 9th City of Delhi designed by Architect Edwin Lutyens for the british Viceroy in 1911. The City of Delhi encompasses both of these, which itself is a Union Territory.

I think the thin hard bread that you guys are talking about "which breaks" is called Papad. You should go to an Indian restaurant and try it.

We have spicy food so we need to balance it with something bland , thats were roti or rice comes in picture . Naan is all purpose floor so its much heavy on stomach and not easily digested hence roti is what we eat daily which is healthier version made with whole wheat. Rice is more popular in southern parts and Roti/naan in north bt that doesnt mean ppl do not eat rice in north or roti in south.

Ohkay one of the basic thing to understand indian food is that there is home cooked food ,a special occasion home cooked food n there is food u get from hotel .....what u see in these videos is not what we eat everyday for lunch dinner or breakfast, ..day to day home food are less spicy (both masala wise n taste wise)..it's a little watered down version of what u would go out n eat..like there is a normal home chicken curry recipe , then there is let's say chicken butter masala for a special occasion or for Sunday brunch n then there is chicken tandoori u would get from hotel cz we don't have tandoor at home to make it...another very important thing about indian food is we have a base food item with which we eat our side dish..like burger is a dish on its own bt in indian or south asian food as whole we have a base food and a proper side dish (there r exceptions like poha, uttapam etc) ..but the major base food are...1) Roti n 2) Rice..it's our staple food item...however Roti is staple for North Indian and west Indian states where as Rice is staple for East , north east and south Indian states...there r different kind of rotis based on the crop like wheat maize , bajra these r mainly grown in western n northern Indian states therefore roti is a staple item for them where as Rice is produced in eastern n some southern state therefore rice is a staple in these regions..food practice n dishes in india differ from state to state based on the kind of crops and vegetables that r produced n available in a particular state.. ..however its not a hard and fast rule we still eat everything...bt it's a like a sub conscious food habbit

Roti is whole wheat therefore healthy and good to eat everyday. Whereas naan, kulcha, roomali roti, luchi, Bengali paratha are made of refined flour which we call maida. Not good for the gut.
