I remember sleep overs with my best friend as a kid we’d replay this mission for hours and would always mess with the guy in the fuel truck at the beginning. I remember we’d laugh so hard at all the stupid ways we would mess up this mission and constantly emphasizing “DING Chavez” when we’d die. 21 years later and he is still my best friend and I see him regularly. Things like this game kept us together and I will always cherish this mission in particular.
This is also my childhood, and this is back when tactical games actually felt like they were tactical and buildings had believable layout designs. Multiplayer in was amazing back then also.
Such a legendary game. I really want R6 to finally return to it's roots and be like the older games with all of the tactical planning and strategic gameplay. It would make for an epic cooperative multiplayer with today's mechanics and graphics engine
I remember my self back in 97 watching the movie executive decision and after 2 years when rogue spear came only my body was getting in school my mind was all about to return home and plan my next strategy on how to take over the plane over and over again.
I would play this mission sooo many times.. I miss the old days man

Holy fuck... I remember being a kid and thinking this game was ADVANCED AS FUCK. The fact that bulletholes stuck on walls, and flesh-holes would appear on the terrorists at the exact spot you shot them was amazing. Boy has this game aged
Man I played this so much in college. Back when games required thinking rather than just shooting non-stop. I remember doing this on hard, if you hesitated for even a second you were dead.
I agree. I liked the planning/scouting and playing and replaying the missions until I got it right. Today's games are great graphics wize, but too often they devolve into shootout at the alamo.
Rogue Spear was my first training at anything tactical, I mean special operations warfare right here can't get any better than this. And I played this game in multiplayer on 56k modem 😆😆😆😅 I was a lagger for sure but a camper c'mon! LOL
This was the shit! one step above the prior R6 (sort of) -it bent everyones pc's at first but heck yeah once you had your gear going with it you were rocking it. This friggin plane .... after all of these years I still remember my lines i took and people i had.. solid team! go !
@Greener223 completely agree. The thing about these games is that they were hard and very unforgiving. COD players would just give up with this now. I used to endlessly rerun the missions to try and better the last.
Playing this on coop with random hostile placement was difficult... If you didnt check first building...you were dead. If you didnt use truck....you were dead. Usually had a couple tangos on far wall who would see you a mile away and drop you.
this guy is so slow ! I used to clear the plane auto aim off in under 2minutes 30. Two single shot taps from mp5 to each tangos chest, no hb, no noise. I also modded this map many times. I was Barry Muff, of Barrys maps. Ah bring back the good old days !
Jesus. I thought the graphics were awesome, at that time. :D I know, it does that every time. The main problem I had with these games was that we couldn't see the weapons.
The deleted mission was the first of the campaign and involved a hostage situation on aboard an aircraft. Google "black thorn WhiteKnight77 missing mission."
What computer do you use? Xp, Vista or Windows 7? Because I remember I got a download from a friend a while ago, and I couldn't get past the install screen :O
If you play as chavez you are wasting the best soldiers potential as an AI he is best shot just hits moving targets to the head in half a second. Kep the auto aim on or play as worse character that has worse skills than you actually have
You're the best, of the best! Remember that! *sigh* Good old, erm, Clarke was his name wasn't it? Best mission by far this, by the way, and copied by many who all failed to bring the same tenseness and intensity. The plan mission in COD4 might be good, but only because you're basically blasting your way through.
@Greener223 Pretty impressive. It was like my first online.. (well rainbow six was)... I had 56k dial up Killing someone was like *BANG*..................................DEAD! I never knew why it did that... .I was a noob... 13 years ago :)
Lmao Fucking Ding Chavez was the best, how could I have forgot about him.
hi man its good to see on some old rainbow six videos
the man himself, macie! it's cool that you like old school r6 too
He’s so bad ass in the newest Jack Ryan season on Amazon Prime 💪🏽🤌🏽

3:37 the dude doesn't sound to enthusiastic about getting out of here

Childhood
My favorite mission in any game ever.
The oil tanker and this one I have played so many times. Really miss this game. Back before they were ruined.
Classic!!! =D I need to get this game running on my computer again!!
@Xadion i got a cd borrowed by a classmate...but i lost it. i hope one day ubisoft put it free on uplay.
Just download a torrent
You can see where Terminal was inspired from in MW2 right here...I was playing this while the MW2 crowd was still in diapers.
Back in a day's, Rainbow Six was much better...
no not true at all, you are just saying this bullshit just to score some likes.
@@mia1shooter exactly
Facts
it still cracks me up to this day when they die and scream like "NYAAAAAAAA"
The Hijacking Of Flight 8969 | Mayday S2 EP3 | Wonder documentary brought me here!!
Memories ! I was video games retailer in 1999. :)
My favorite was the cabin style mansion in the mountains. That was the best map. I get the same feel when i play the first Splinter Cell. Love it!!
I played this mission 40 times as a kid.. probably because I always died
Man I played this so much in college. Back when games required thinking rather than just shooting non-stop. I remember doing this on hard, if you hesitated for even a second you were dead.
That is a overgeneralization.

So happy Jack Ryan brought Ding Chavez into the show!
my childhood! nothing this good now a days
afther 15 years, im looking this game, and the amazing graphics changes ._.
Uhaha. At least opponents around the globe had different looks back then.
I remember always loving Ding Chavez and a sniper named Homer Johnson
Found this in my grandfather's game collection
wtf, your grandfather?
One of the best games ever made...
aaaaahhh,my childhood
OMG never knew you could walk beside the fuel truck!!! I always use to snipe them from the hillside!
Nice vid
Silus Jackson
It is to use the oil tank truck in basic operational plans.
such a throw back, love this game, only hear as I am 30 mins away from Siege beta and am gitty for R6
Dude this game was sooooooooo gooooooood used to play missions with friends tcp ip connection back then!!!! 😢
This was the shit! one step above the prior R6 (sort of) -it bent everyones pc's at first but heck yeah once you had your gear going with it you were rocking it. This friggin plane .... after all of these years I still remember my lines i took and people i had.. solid team! go !
i play this on my dream cast all the time

Great use of the flashbang at the end.
I used to play this mission over and over but always take the sniper position with the Barrett. "Sights are hot" always got me wet
I know I'm about a year late but you're 1 in 1,000,000 for that comment
Marcus Davis Here Here , i second that. Damn there's girls out here like this
If I say sights r hot will u get buck naked right then and there?
Lol exactly
The same! Barret or WA2000 and Weber with Kure Galanos as a snipers team
well done. it was one of my favourite games.
Used to play as a sniper & after taking out a hostile the rest of the team board.
Playing this on coop with random hostile placement was difficult...
If you didnt check first building...you were dead. If you didnt use truck....you were dead. Usually had a couple tangos on far wall who would see you a mile away and drop you.
Brings back so many memories!
@josh1303 endwar is an RTS tom clancy game with alot of the same rainbow six operatives.
this game deserves more views...
Man i used to love playing this
Best tactical shooter ever
If this was made today, that feature would be made into a game defining gimmick and the game would be built around it.
until now this game still impress dont no why
@josh1303 It was a game released about 3 years ago now I guess it was?
so many MEMORIES! All this has been thrown out the window hopefully R6 Siege comes close to this as far planning goes
Traxxasred Will it be arcade like? Please tell me It wont be arcade
i dont think so actually from the e3 gameplay im really excited for it just the hitmarkers gotta go
Man somebody bring it back. Is there any SST dudes out there.
this guy is so slow ! I used to clear the plane auto aim off in under 2minutes 30. Two single shot taps from mp5 to each tangos chest, no hb, no noise. I also modded this map many times. I was Barry Muff, of Barrys maps. Ah bring back the good old days !
LOL i never knew you had to go with the truck
Jesus. I thought the graphics were awesome, at that time. :D I know, it does that every time.
The main problem I had with these games was that we couldn't see the weapons.
I thought this was the toughest mission in the game.
Go watch Ultimate Force. It's like Rainbow Six the tv show. They even had a episode in season 3 involving this very scenario.
I LIVED THIS SHIT! Oh they dont make em like they used to
The deleted mission was the first of the campaign and involved a hostage situation on aboard an aircraft. Google "black thorn WhiteKnight77 missing mission."
nice work at the end!
This game Was once my life ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
Who else thought that the heartbeat sensor was a real thing?^^
This would never be allowed today.
looks similar to the plane from Rainbow Six Siege
This is basically the mission from S.W.A.T. Only better.
"TDM. Dedicated T1 = No lag"
What computer do you use? Xp, Vista or Windows 7? Because I remember I got a download from a friend a while ago, and I couldn't get past the install screen :O
Great videos, but how can I have the extantion weapon pack. Thanks so much for the answer !!!
bye
Would be better with planning phase involved.
I Think this is one of the Most Tactically realistic games i've ever played, it's a shame i can't install it on my PC these days
That ending!
man I was a beast in this, this new siege I suck
@bcarp2142
Say what? Was this "Endwar" a book?
Love this mission. 😀
lol when you use the heartbeat sensor i press " [ " to zoom out the minimap
can you please share your plan files? thanks
If you play as chavez you are wasting the best soldiers potential as an AI he is best shot just hits moving targets to the head in half a second. Kep the auto aim on or play as worse character that has worse skills than you actually have
aww yes
@@haps3000 It's short for Domingo
am lookingto play this on win7, any advice isappreciated, thanks
damn I remember that game. good stuff...
it took 5 years to complete this game , LOL
Was there a version of rogue spear released for the N64 or PS1?
You're the best, of the best! Remember that!
*sigh* Good old, erm, Clarke was his name wasn't it? Best mission by far this, by the way, and copied by many who all failed to bring the same tenseness and intensity. The plan mission in COD4 might be good, but only because you're basically blasting your way through.
Old good times :D
Im dont know how you do to play this title. Im cant play it in pc
This level wouldn't sit well today.
Way better than the Call of Duty crap you see these days
better than siege
Rainbow Six > Call of Duty.
dude chavez was always the main man!!!
I always remind this Stage when i watch Swat :D
when i play tis game i usually shoot da wheel of da fun lol
Did they actually use a jet fuel tanker as mobile cover in the beginning? Lmao
What mod is nmm? I use the Nato ARMM mod.
I wish that the deleted mission for Black Thorn would get leaked... stupid 9/11 ruining all our games. This level would never fly today.
its too bad alot of the Rainbow six operatives turn on eachother, not in this game ofcorse but later on in Endwar.
@Greener223
Pretty impressive.
It was like my first online.. (well rainbow six was)... I had 56k dial up
Killing someone was like *BANG*..................................DEAD!
I never knew why it did that... .I was a noob... 13 years ago :)
@Greener223
...I was 10-13 Y.O playing this game lol
