  • Can you paint old dirt bike or ATV plastics and make it stick? Sure, this is how I do it! I use some techniques and products body shops use to paint plastic car and truck bumpers .I start by cleaning and prepping the fenders on my vintage Honda XL125 custom dirt bike. I even fix a crack and hole with some plastic welding. I I then spray with plastic adhesion promoter, then sand off the old damage. I then use some epoxy primer and 2K urethane surfacer primer before I spray then fenders with some single stage urethan automotive paint. Stick around to the end of the video, they turned out GREAT!

So what do you think. Was this a bad idea? Do you think the paint will stick ❓❓❓

@@BIGFOOTBIKESANDBREWS We definitely should stay in touch. I am planning on a trip to Texas sometime and hopefully we can catch up and go riding 4 wheelers or whatever on the way.

@@johnkoury1116 , I was thinking some day if I were to get a good number of subscriber it would be cool to some kind of vintage ride. That might take a while to get some folks together though at my channels growth rate since I'm pretty remote to any sort of population 😁😁

I will usually plastic weld some scrap material in where I need to fill and sand smooth. There is also a flexible filler body shops use on plastic bumpers that should work well over the epoxy primer, but I usually just fill with plastic welding.

@BIGFOOTBIKESANDBREWS I want to paint my Goldwing, and a lot of the plastic has been filled and is cracked.
