You really confuse general game dev with 'cut content'. There are basically 2 teams, the artists and map builders building out the map/look of the world and the writers, game designers working with the artists to accommodate their needs. Now sometimes however the world building team will make things just to flesh out the world with no real use by the writers. Now this could be as simple as hey we had a idea for this area but it got axed, or we don't have any real plans for this area, maybe in a expansion so for now just flesh it out to look good as eye candy. Now I am sure SOME of this falls into the former but some the latter. And when I say 'cut content' it could have been ideas that never made it off the design table. They tell the artists her in this area build a dam or a prison we think we may put something there. Then plans change and they still keep it but make it eye candy as why waste the work building the skeleton of the map if it's not going to conflict with anything else. When TH-camrs say 'cut content' it seems implied content that got pretty far down the pipe then axed then people cry about wanting it not realizing it barely got off the drawing board in production before stopped. Many times it's ideas that didn't get far and while technically it's "cut content" it misleading to say such without context. 2 great examples of this is the metro and this dam. Metro clearly with some of the stations fleshed out as you showed in other videos it was "cut content" got pretty far along but then time limits by upper mgt got the best of them and they axe it. half way through dev. The other is this dam. While they may had some ideas for it early on, if they did it was 'cut' soon after and the artists needs to have SOMETHING here that linked into Judy's story so they just filled it with eye candy. As nothing is remotely built out to any degree unlike the metro. Hope this clarifies.
For the player it doesn’t make a difference though. It feels like there could have been so much more and the things they left in the game without proceeding to develop on that feature or area makes it feel like cut content. It’s content we will never get, that’s the outcome.

Pretty ironic how a game that is seemingly all about corps didn't give us any chance to side with them as factions and have entire questlines. I would have had that as a base if I were the developer and then branched out from there into the other various gigs and side quests. Seems like they did things in reverse order and instead went with other things and then seemingly ran out of time to do corps 😂
Its insane how much theg scraped out of the game. The Life paths are probably the biggest, they were supposed to be 3 separate main stories that link together. The game now is probably a qauter of the size they wanted to make, but could not die to time restrictions.

I just found another strange room in Cyberpunk. In the buidling where you have to kill Gustavo Orta for Padre (near the corpo plaza), there is a little floating room with no access to it (use no clip). There is a women in a medical arasaka bed. You can strangle her from behind and then let her free herself, she'll not attack you
Very strange...
NightCity - city of decorations
Keep it up! Love these videos!❤
I hope we get mods to use features you show off.
Its insane how much theg scraped out of the game. The Life paths are probably the biggest, they were supposed to be 3 separate main stories that link together. The game now is probably a qauter of the size they wanted to make, but could not die to time restrictions.
Thanks for the dam tour, anyone know where can I get some dam bait?
@ 1:36 i always wondered is that one of those massive cargo ship drones? Has it fallen out of the sky??? That’s terrifying bro😭
It is. In the lore raiders/nomads shoot those down all the time. Could also have just been junked there.
Noticed you open the Freefly menu to change speed, the scroll wheel works on the mouse too!
I suspect that it would be possible an area built for artistic demo cutscene.
Have you done a video on the inside of the city hall building ?
Not yet but to be honest, there's not a lot to look at which isn't already useable.
@@SirMZK can you actually go in the city hall building normally ? I found it by clipping into the building I didn’t realize you could actually get in there any other way
@@jbdds2010 There's not a normal way in but I think that's where one of River's braindances takes place?
Hiya, I'm on console and you can wonder around most of this area, I searched most of it looking for laptops and shards
is it possible for modders to add content to these areas, or open access to them?
By the way is there a way you could show us the underwater city in Judy's storyline but without water? 😅
Have you every seen a techie house. That junk yard is a techie paradise. I have some hugh structures being built in the junkyard. I can show you on discord. Also I believe the dam to be opened up at some point..
The amount of cut and unfinished content in this game is astonishing.
that fast travel point exists because of the race you do
I also think the oil area is too undercooked
Though obviously not as much
Awesome
But they would have a huge city sized trash mountain 😅 the city is over flowing with trash
Hope the map designers are watching these videos. I know I would if I made the game. Hilarious.
this red engine is just garbage, they wasted too much dev time on the bare bone tech instead of the story and game. hopefully going with unreal will let them pump out more game content and let epic deal with the underlying tech issues.
Ok time for my schizopost 1:02
This biiiiiiig ass area with NOTHING I believe was supposed to be the original spot for Dex to dump Vs body. There’s a ladder that goes down into that big area, so maybe V was supposed to reboot, try to carry themselves to the ladder where maybe they pass out and run into Takemura and Dex or maybe V was able to escape another way.
(Edit: Grammar)
