    Honda Element! I didn't know it had that door! That's insane. Was the Element discontinued?

    • @projectkod
      @projectkod  11 หลายเดือนก่อน

      it did discontinue since 2011. All I read in the forum is that people want a redesigned one, but i don't think it will happen haha. The CRV has a strong market and selling too well, plus now they have Pilot and Passport.

    I'm getting ready to buy a 2008 Honda Element with 77.0 k miles
    What has been the biggest problem with this 2008 element?
    Or could you tell me, what to watch out for?

    • @projectkod
      @projectkod  29 วันที่ผ่านมา

      Hi Marianne - hopefully, I didn't answer your question too late. For 2008, it is typical of any car that is 15 years or older. Check all the suspension component and make sure that the upper and lowered balljoint are good, wheel bearing. engine mounts, struts/shocks. Also, check for the Catalytic converter and see if it's an original. Since they seem to be targets for thieves to resale those. If the car is from a state that snows. check the undercarriage for rust, especially in the rear subframe area. Other than that, run a carfax report and make sure that the seller didn't roll the speedometer miles back to 77k. that seemed to be super low for a 2008. Good luck with the purchase.

    Does it remains 4x4 all the time or you have the option in the car a button or something?

    • @projectkod
      @projectkod  ปีที่แล้ว

      no, but i wish it was like that. This system is like most front wheel bias AWD system, it only kicks in when the computer sense slippage in the front wheels. There's a traction control button that you can turn on and it helps with getting the rear wheels to spin. I know some of the newer systems is equiped with a "Lock"/"Locker" that will allow the rear wheels to stay on traction. The New passport/Pilot and Toyota's Rav4 all have those.

    Here's a question for any Element owner: When sitting in the rear seats, how far back are you from the rear windows? Looks like they aren't aligned. Also do they retract? My dog loves to sit in the rear of my car with her head out the window.

    Very nice Video, Thank you. And very nice car. I am looking at 2008 EX AWD with 99k miles, same color as yours. You recommend this car? Thank you

    • @projectkod
      @projectkod  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I think it depends on what you are looking for in a car. It might fit what you are looking for it might not. Go test drive one and see how u like. With 99k miles and 2008 it might be hard to find and paying premium for sure.

    • @malsalah
      @malsalah 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thank you so much...i like to look of it. i was asking about dependability and any major issues that this vehicle might have...if any.
      Thank you again

    • @projectkod
      @projectkod  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@malsalah it's a honda so mostly dependable. The motor is pretty solid, lot of owners have over 300k without any rebuild. I think most people will encounter issues after 200k and that's if they ever do maintenance at all. things you should look out for are suspension parts, alternator, coil packs, catalytic converters, pcv valve, spark plugs, radiator, and rust in trailing arm if you live in near states that snows. otherwise, it's a pretty typical honda. low maintence and cheap to repair.
