Iron Maiden Has One of the best drummers ever, one of the best bass players ever, one of the best lead vocals ever, and then you have 3 guitarist who could play lead guitar in any rock band. They are great writers. And to top it off, the unity makes them even better. Been a fan since i was a kid. Seen them several times and they always give you their max.

Rime Of The Ancient Mariner, especially from Flight 666 tour is a must. In particular for the theatrical and storytelling aspect of Maiden, as well as musicianship.
Paschendale live is perhaps the best performance and song by Iron Maiden. Rime was my favorite since I was a teen, but that song, that set... it's pure magic.

One of my favorite live performances from Maiden. Happy you found it so early on in your Maiden journey! Seeing that you appreciate these live performances, maybe go check out "Rime of the Ancient Mariner" Flight 666 version. Pull up lyrics as well to keep up with the storytelling on this one and by the way, the footage of the jet flying at the beginning of the video, that is Maiden's private Jet "Ed Force One" and Bruce is flying it in that video. ;)

Maiden’s signature ; lots of great epic emotional strong melodies, great transitions, superb songwriting, and dynamics. Beauty, emotions, drama, energy, power, dynamics, vigor all at once well blended mostly
Maiden always take you on a journey, their shows are always great - a lot of their songs give you so much energy too, feel ready to run a marathon after listening to them 😂!
I just recently discovered your channel and I have to say it's so refreshing to see a young person enjoying and actually appreciating music that I heard when it was brand new. If you do make a mistake or have a blooper along the way it's no big deal. Shrug it off and enjoy the journey because it's as new to you as it was for us so many years ago.
Incredible. The only word to describe them! They still have this energy now, and this concert was filmed over 12 years ago! Definitely need to check out Rime of the Ancient Mariner (Live 2008 Flight 666). Brilliant story, and probably their most epic song. I’m so glad I’ve caught you early on this journey. Love the enthusiasm you have for Maiden!
Great reaction!!! Hard to describe the joy at being in the crowd at an Iron Maiden concerts. Hello from Australia. I'm almost 59 years old, been listening to Maiden since age 15. It's good to see a beautiful young lady discovering great music that is timeless to this day. Also look at Thin Lizzy, Rory Gallagher, Stevie Ray Vaughan, Johnny Winter, Blackfoot, Albert Collins and The Icebreakers. Gary Moore was in Thin Lizzy at times. Buddy Guy also fantastic.
I'm from the UK. Maiden are too. They are one of the GREAT British bands. Such blessed that our small island has produced so many bands and artists and most of them succesful
I'm glad to know that you loved this song and performance! I was blessed with the chance to attend this concert. It was recorded in the biggest stadium in my country, Chile, with a crowd of about 60.000 people attending (not a festival, but an Iron Maiden concert). The crowd here in South America is by far the best in the World, and that's the reason why so many bands have recorded Live DVDs here, specially in Chile, Argentina and Brasil.
Great reaction. You can never go wrong with Iron Maiden live. They are as fun to watch now as they were when they started. Their longevity is proof that it is not work if you love what you do.
I like the version of "Blood Brothers" from the exact same concert. Recommendation: "Brighter Than A Thousand Suns" live at Abbey Road Studios, they are really crushin' it there, and I am loving the whole "A Matter Of Life And Death" record.
Blood brothers always hits me right in the feels, but is not an oft requested song. Any person on this planet who has "a brother from another mother" NEEDS to hear it! I can only assume it would be the same for a "sister from another mother" in terms of impact, but I lack the biology to make that statement with confidence!! Stacy, if you are looking for a song not often reacted to, but unquestionably epic in the "later" (LOL!!) days of Maiden, do yourself a favor and at least listen to it!!
well im 52 and have been hooked on Maiden for over 40 years have seen then to date 33 times here in the UK they are the best live band on the planet in my opinion and yes i am bias. best Album for me is Somewhere in time with Stranger in a Strange Land my fave tune.
Thank you for your beautiful and spot-on reaction. I love their transitions, their strong instrumentals and the happiness they spread. Rime Of The Ancient Mariner next please. Although there are dozens of great songs by them. 😊👍
'Dance of Death' is one of the newer Iron Maiden songs from 2003 (The album 'Dance of Death') ... The band's newer songs have been more progressive and epic (The song is 8+ minutes in length) compared to their past, shorter songs like "Can I play with madness" ... "Stranger in a strange land" ... 'Run to the hills'... etc. Iron Maiden have had epic songs from way back - 'Phantom of the Opera'... 'Rime of the Ancient Mariner' ... 'Alexander the Great'... etc. But their latest album 'Senjutsu', for example... is full of songs past 7 minutes in length. They still do write shorter songs, like - 'Stratego' ... 'Days of future past'... 'Speed of light'. But their classic songs are still considered their best - 'The number of the beast' ... 'The Trooper' ... 'Wasted years' ... 'The evil that men do' ... 'From here to eternity' 🤘🤘🔥🔥
It's probably because Iron Maiden are so busy plus all of his other personal ventures but how Bruce hasn't appeared on The West End or Broadway in some kind of musical theatre is beyond me. Iron Maiden live is basically music theater anyway i suppose lol
The biggest thing about iron maiden, they don't play for the accolades of their piers. They play for their fans, thats the difference between them and other groups. And that's why they are still playing today for the next generation of fans to love the music 🎵 they products.
You are correct about Bruce being theatrical with his movements, and it is indeed deliberate. His approach is that he is always playing the show all the way to the back of the audience, so his movements need to be big and over exaggerated for the people at the back to see. They have got better with age too, I’ve seen them 10 times and each time was better than the last… not just performance wise, but also in the visual theatrics of the show, whether that’s Bruce’s exaggerated movements, the walk-on Eddie’s (the band’s mascot, a 10ft tall corpse), the 30ft canvas backdrops, the use of lights, smoke and pyrotechnics… the whole show is an experience.
Considering that Bruce has been through cancer, and had two hip replacements, it's incredible to see him still showing that kind of energy today. He's singing as well as ever, too.
One more great and beautiful reaction! 👏👏 Beautiful as you and your voice! Unfortunately, this was reacting to this song. Don't get me wrong, surely I think their performance in this video is amazing - as usual! - but perhaps I'm the only huge Maiden's fan who doesn't like "Dance of death" so much, for I believe Maiden's got many songs way better than this one. And yes, we're passionate fans, mostly here in South America - and we, brazilian fans, are even more passionate than people from Chile, where this concert took place. When I come home from a Maiden's concert, I get out of voice for some 2 days. And if you like their storytelling and transitions so much, then you're gonna love these ones: "Rime of the ancient mariner" (based on a poem); "Alexander the great"; "The flight of Icarus"; "Stranger in a strange land"; "Infinite dreams"; "The writing on the wall" (this one, from the latest album - "Senjutsu" - 2021 - I recommend the official music video - the animated version). Nice Maiden's journey for you and, as we use to say, "up the irons"!
A couple of thoughts.... Bruce was probably going for a costume change. As you said, they are still touring, go see them! I'm going in November to see them for the first time. I've been a fan for 40 years and the "stars have never aligned" enough for me to make it to one of their shows...I am SO PUMPED!!!!! You may like Dream Theater, check them out. I would suggest, as a starting point, "Under a Glass Moon" live from Toyko, Japan, in 1993. You may also like Jethro Tull. I would suggest "Aqualung" or "Locomotive Breath" as a starting point. Lastly, please take this as a compliment, it's meant that way: You are a very beautiful and insightful woman and though you may not be a musician, you have a really good ear for music. Rock on! 🤘✌
I suggest you check out two legendary bands: The Who and Rainbow. Although older than Iron Maiden, they helped pave the way for harder rock. The Who broke new ground in the 1960s with their energetic live shows and a willingness to push boundaries. Their timeless classics, such as "Won't Get Fooled Again" and "Baba O'Riley," are worth a listen. On the other hand, Rainbow started in the 1970s, with Ronnie James Dio's powerful vocals on albums like Rising and Long Live Rock 'n' Roll. Their blend of melodic rock and guitar mastery could appeal to you. If you want to discover more seminal rock acts, try one or both bands.
Maiden were a Non-Stop entity in the background of about a thousand Dungeons & dragons, pendragon, call of cthulhu, and other tabletop role-playing games of my youth. They were simply the definitive background music as well as stuff we would be listening to throughout non-gaming sessions of just hanging out. I am humbled that my love for Iron Maiden has never led me astray, they have gotten better with age and still continue to tour the world to audiences the range from children to the elderly in age and all social and political Dynamics etc etc. They are just a brilliant brilliant band
Iron Maiden is doing a north america tour this fall. I've never been super into their music, but I got tickets because it's something I need to experience while I can.
@StaceyRPG - I have to ask; you say you have no background in music, have not listened to very much of it, have not been to live shows, etc. - but how is this possible when you clearly enjoy music so much, so clearly feel so many of the great songs you've reacted to on your channel?
This was a great song to react to Stacy! Subscribed!! Looking forward to more of your upcoming Maiden reactions! Another great group is Chicago (fka Chicago Transit Authority) from their early years before they became the ballady band they are known as more of today.
This is a particularly "classic" rock song, because it is built -- melodically, progressively, and thematically -- on the medieval traditional lament song "Scarborough Faire." They have taken it into the modern hard rock era and added some serious gothic flair, of course, and one can only applaud them for making such an evolution. A very cool cover/translation of this song was done by The Harp Twins, which put it back a bit towards its medieval origins. It plays well either way.
if You want chills from the crowd, try and Find "Blind Guardian - The Bard´s Song / Valhalla" live in Wacken... i was there as almost every year, but that performance was unrivaled magic....
There's good, there's great, there's legendary, then Iron Maiden....God level status.... incredible stories, musicianship, their art, their logo, their global following.....
Glad to see you continuing your Iron Maiden journey. These guys are just plain F U N. I always wanted to play something. I could play the notes but I couldn't make the music. I wasn't an early fan of Maiden. I was still rockin' with Clapton, Doobie Brothers, Allman Brothers and southern rock mostly. Then I saw Maiden Rockin' Rio - WHOA. Not only became a fan but have grown to respect Maiden for what they have done and the number of years they have been rockin'. Life on the road sucks, but these guys are still gettin' after it and standin' on the gas. Check out the YT video of Maiden's "Ed Force One" with Bruce in the Captains seat landing in Las Vegas. It's an awesome sight.
YES! I was really wanted you to see this one. If you want a band that has INSASE crowd energy, check out Blind Guardian-The Bard Song/Valhalla live from Wacken 2016. It's mid-evilish power metal and a must if you love fantasy RPG games.
Into the Maiden abyss you go... love it... I know you're being bombarded with all the live stuff but I'd love for you to check oit some of their original official music videos to see them in their prime... Aces High is one of their best and quite educational as is The Flight of Icarus from our mythical history... then theres a song that just says it all about the band reflecting their time over decades on the road called Wasted Years... all Maiden official videos and all staples on their tour setlists...

Great reaction, Stacey. Now I definitely think you should check out the song "Rime of The Ancient Mariner" from Iron Maiden.

This song is like, one of those ghost stories I like to listening to on Halloween 🎃👻
if You want chills from the crowd, try and Find "Blind Guardian - The Bard´s Song / Valhalla" live in Wacken...
i was there as almost every year, but that performance was unrivaled magic....
Not necessarily my favorite song, but probably my favorite performance by them. The whole band just shows off.

The Maiden family is never ending!! There is no expiry date on brilliant storytelling, ask Shakespear, or go back even further!!
This is my #2 song from Maiden after Running Free, so good & emotional..
Up the Irons.
Next on the MUST see list is Iron Maiden - The Clansman (live at rock in rio '01)
Bruce was an Olympic standard fencer.
For me this is the best performance I've seen Bruce giving.

The Clansman by Iron maiden Rock in Rio
Biggest underground band in the world!!
Rime of the ancient mariner is their best story ever... the live version from Live after Death concert is the best!
Could it be that Bruce Dickinson is one of the best frontmen in the history of heavy metal? I think so!
Stacy, you need to see them live!
you should 100% check out "Iron Maiden - The Clansman - Rock In Rio"
YES! I was really wanted you to see this one. If you want a band that has INSASE crowd energy, check out Blind Guardian-The Bard Song/Valhalla live from Wacken 2016. It's mid-evilish power metal and a must if you love fantasy RPG games.
Also really like the clansman from rock in rio
Into the Maiden abyss you go... love it... I know you're being bombarded with all the live stuff but I'd love for you to check oit some of their original official music videos to see them in their prime... Aces High is one of their best and quite educational as is The Flight of Icarus from our mythical history... then theres a song that just says it all about the band reflecting their time over decades on the road called Wasted Years... all Maiden official videos and all staples on their tour setlists...
Pretty much every Maiden song is a story. Its why we love them.
Iron Maiden is by far the best live band I’ve ever seen
If you want to have an amazing concert experience, come to Chile

Try some Danzig... "Mother" for starters. Will also get you quick hits to go with this timeless hit.
