Listen to the podcast, everyone, it’s a great one
Glad you enjoyed it! 🙂
We just call it "kinder weather" as it's like that at some point most days!
🤣 standard misery
Do I need to return in better weather? Listen to the Podcast: geni.us/EdVfn
Enjoyed that podcast, cheers.
Gary B (and of course your video 😁👍🏼)
When like-minded people get together, it can't turn out any other way than this, no matter what the weather is like. I love your positive attitude that you give us through your videos. Thanks a lot and if I ever wander into the parts where you live, I'd be honored to meet you.
Thank you 🙂 glad you enjoyed it
I used to take my kids up Kinder Scout from Hayfield when they were 8/9 and they loved it, especially the downfall. But by far the best experience (some 40+ years ago, so maybe it’s not done anymore) was the full moon walk in the snow that would be done during January or February - it was almost like walking in daylight. Thanks for reminding an old man of fitter days. 👍
You’re very welcome! 🙂
Kinder scout is amazing !!
I’ve still no idea as it rained the entire time
I was there 😂
If ever you get the chance go to ingelton falls it’s an amazing hike and one of mine and my dads favorites
Another great video , your waterproofs must have a good workout 😅.
Planning this walk tomorrow to Kinder Scout (17/3) .
Love the weathered rocks. Great run out.
I admire that you do your running regardless of the weather - no matter, how wet, windy, slippery grim conditions and you are smiling the whole way :)
At around £400 for the ferry ticket, I was getting my run in regardless!! 😂
@@StephenJReid Haha! The thought had crossed my mind - I think you need to go back when the weather is better - kinda unfinished business?
Brilliatnt, a wild wet day can be soo invigorating (except last week when I was knee deep in slurry but that's another story.)
I want to hear that story! 😂
Brilliant video. I can't think of a better place for making you rethink things. It's a place I always go to to straighten my head out. The outdoors is brilliant for your mental health
Absolutely! Never regret going outside
What a fun and vibrant video mate, you are really good at this 👍
Thanks! 🙂
Horrible weather, but awesome video!
Thanks! 😁
So great to see you both together. I’ve walked with Sarah. She’s so fun, I love her energy as much as yours 🤩 thanks Stephen, BW, Sarah
Ahhh Sarah 🤗 I think you're really fun too! Can't wait to see you again xx
@@sarahlister1626 heyyy 🤩 I’m off up Kinder tomorrow with a mate. I’m leading the way ✨ it’s going to be bitter up there! X
Thanks Sarah! 😁 Gotta smile through the misery 😂
Great video. Awesome that you still ran in the rain.
It’s a long drive from home to the Peak District, I wasn’t missing out on a run! 😂
I grew up in Glossop so great to see you do a video over there. Got back over last summer and did Kinder again with some friends - we had much better weather though . :)
I feel I’m going to have to go back!
Really nice touch with making the audio sound like you are in a submarine Stephen, that really helped hammer home just how much water was falling out of the sky lol
Great video though considering the conditions, you both looked like you enjoyed even though the weather was definitely against you. It does call for a round 2 though I reckon with some kinder weather.
😂 submarine audio
Definitely going to have to revisit in better weather, was there for a few days and rained nearly the entire time
Beautiful! A different world from Maine in Arizona.
Thanks! 🙂
Great video, love watching ❤❤
Thanks Alan!
I have Sarah and her podcasts to thank for me being aware of yourself and your content (very glad of that). Some very typical Kinder weather on your day out haha. Stunning in all weathers although maybe more enjoyable on those blue sky days. If you like the rock formations up there you will need to check out the wool packs on your next visit, possibly my favourite part of Kinder. Loved the video and look forwards to the next one.
Thanks Thom, I planned to take him to the Woolpacks but well, weather!
We briefly debated continuing to the wool packs but the weather had other ideas. I’ll be back!
@@sarahlister1626 it did look like an especially wet and windy day 😂 looks like you both had a good time all the same 😊
@@StephenJReid wise choice 👍 hope you get to return some time soon
thank you for the smiles today Stephen
You’re welcome Ken 🙂
I used kinder scout for my WHW training , it can be tough across the top sometimes which is good mental training as well 💪👍
I really enjoy all your videos Stephen, thanks; and I do so very much enjoy the end credits - I also have a cat available (weekends only) for 'freakout' testing 😂
😂 Can you ship the cat ?
🤣🤣🤣@@StephenJReid
Cool vid. Nice hike 😊
Thanks!
Amazing. Thank you to both of you for sharing.
Kinder is an awesome place, and if you enjoyed it then you'll absolutely love the whole area. (it's almost my back yard lol)
I'd say you definitely need to come back to our beloved dark peak
I think I’ll have to!
Don't change what your doing, awsome stuff. If u want more people to click on your vids. Add into the vid description your exact tent make and model, your exact cook kit name, jacket etc. people wanna see gear being used and abused in the hills before they buy. That's how I found your channel. I was looking for reviews on the new Rab ridge raider. Some idiot had cut down the forest u were heading for u added in a out take from a movie that fit the bill, I was hooked. It's not that u need to improve your content as to get people in for a first time look.
Thanks! Planning on working on strategy more this year
I swear you could spot an old bannana peal on a trail on the moon, damn astronauts. thanks
I can sniff them out at 100yards
Due to go up in Feb to test the Harrier jacket out...😂 as most probs it'll be pissing down.
Well it held up in this for at least an hour, don’t think it was designed for quite those conditions 🙈
@@StephenJReid Noted 😅
FYI the first 10 seconds of this video freaked my cat out - terrified! Maybe some audio weirdness or just the google zoom I can’t tell. I rewound it and she freaked out again 😂
I’ll have to acquire a cat to test this 🤣
Haha I did this route the other way around on the 2nd of jan , then again with work 5th . Stay out
My hills Reid pmsl
Haha I’ll be lurking around yer bins next
@@StephenJReid not again .

@@StephenJReid thanks book pre ordered
In conditions like these. What is the foot wear setup? And socks?
depends on temperature. if its above 10/15c, just normal trail shoes and socks. you're feet are getting wet regardless. If it's cold, I try and combine shoes with goretex with some waterproof socks. Feet will still get wet eventually but they stay warmer for longer. feet are warmer when running than hiking as the movement is forcing blood down into them more
what were your shoes in this vid?
@@StephenJReid
Inappropriate ones for the conditions. Altra Lone Peak 6. Not at all waterproof and a bit cold for the conditions.
@@StephenJReid I figured it out by pausing one of your fabulous slow Mo's 😂😂😂
Wow man, are you both were made from stainless steel?!
😮
Enjoyed your swimming pool, I do hope it wasn’t so cold as it looked)) cheers!
Swimming pool was freezing 😂
I just pressed play, I'm excited
Hope you enjoy it, I had planned a very different video, but the weather decided otherwise 🙈
@@StephenJReid I enjoy all your videos, Stephen! Was thinking about that community post you did the other day, about what content we want from you in the future, and what I love about your channel is that I never know what to expect next. I truly get excited every time I see a new upload, such high quality footage, such a charming Irish man, I love listening to your accent - it's absolutely brilliant, just keep doing you, that's where I'm going with this I guess 😄 Plus it's nice to see you suffer, from time to time 😇
@@TheAngieStoned😂 thanks! I’ve always said the thing people like the most is when you’re having a terrible time or suffering 😂
