- This was a reasonably worn Matchbox car which was in need of some TLC.
It is a nice model to do. The key thing is to get the engine in the correct way or the base will not fit properly.
The canopy didn’t shut properly before the restoration and still doesn’t. That’s to be investigated at a later date.

Nice looking restoration Andy. It's a cool unique casting. Looks like it's new now! I never realized it's a police car.
There is a Fire Chief car similar. Thank you for commenting and watching 👍
Beautiful restoration Andy looks amazing well done 👍.
Thank you Adrian. I chose this one since it doesn’t seem to be a popular one to do. Thanks for your support. 👍

Thank you very much. Yes an interesting one to do. 👍
@@andysgaragediecastrestorations You are welcome, dear Andy 👍 keep up the good work 💯
Super restoration Andy very futuristic looks like new could have been made by Dinky and used as a Gerry Anderson type casting. Great paint finish.👍
Thank you Ian very much appreciated. 👍
hi great video but i never have to grind the suspesion rivots i pull up the front plastic and unclip
Thank you. I did it as the safest option. At the same time I was doing a Sikh Mercedes 280SL and it’s plastic suspension had got bent. So I went the safe route and that made it easier to re spray the base. Thanks for watching and commenting 👍👏
Nice one Andy, looks like a 70’s toy it was probably futuristic for 2024😂
Thank you Buster. Yeah it’s still futuristic today. I did see a kit car from the 70s or 80s which was a similar design with the flip up door entry. I will try and find out what it was. It was on a VW chassis.

@@andysgaragediecastrestorations you're welcome 😊
Great work Andy looks so much better without those casting lines…..funny enough I have one of these in a joblot I purchased earlier this month
Is that a futuristic banger racer then Kev? Look forward to it 👍
@@andysgaragediecastrestorations lol ,,watch this space Andy!
Nice one Andy ,nice paint ,the cabin didn't fit when it was original so I guess it was a factory problem or a kid forced it earlier on.
Cheers Laz. Yes it is probably an original problem. If I get time I will have a closer look at it. 👍
