The hammock is a fabric sling used for sleeping or resting. It consists of cloth or a network of twine or thin rope which is stretched between two firm points such as trees or attached to a metal or wood structure. Hammocks are widely used for relaxation in backyards, cottages, and waterfront areas, and they are carried as a lightweight type of bed on camping trips. They are also used for sleeping on ships and spacecraft.

@MalkiorTheBarker oddly enough it is called a chain stich in crochet. just tie a simple overhand knot to start it, make a loop and pull it thru the hole in the middle of the knot, then pull the knot tight leaveing the loop out. make another loop, pull that thru the first loop and pull the first loop tight

@revid64 lay 11 lengths of the rope thru the ring cross each one with the other end of itself and pass the one of the two pieces furthest from the end all the way to the other side passing it between each of the two pieces of rope. then lay it on the board at the far end and leave it there. cross all of the ropes again and take the rope that is on the other side (the side you just layed the first rope down on.) and pass it thru the ropes again and lay it down. I think it's a 3 inch ring

Just in case anyone is not sure, the weaver is a women. I met her at my workplace in 2008. At that time she was weaving the hammocks only part time as it is strenuous work. The shuttle that she uses to weave the hammock bed is quite heavy and would take it's toll on her arm if she did this job full time.

you will need to buy many materials and it will cost more than a hammock if you make it yourself and waste time too! but if you buy one hammock, it will be cheap and fast
