Did anyone already mention that Gregg is a really nice guy ? I saw him give a drum seminar a few years ago, and he was so engaging and friendly with the audience.
Gregg has once again showed his unbelievable skill set. Close your eyes and remember Jeff. Gregg is one of the hardest working drummers in the industry today. I once saw a 3 hour clinic by him, he ended it with another hour of handouts and autographs. Super sweet human with a ton of knowledge...can't beat that!

Right now at this very moment , this is the best I’ve ever heard Toto w/Gregg Bissonette on Drums and 2 Black lead singers the male as Toto’s lead vocalist and gal backround harmony’s soooo frikan hot and Steve Lukathers vocals and guitar work as great as I’ve ever heard him! Seriously!!!
To be honest this is the best version of Rosanna after JPorcaro… Gregg smashed it (and he was substituting Simon)… better than any other that came after
WOW! Greg, never heard a drummer get so close to Jeffs feel on this song. This song is up there with fool in the rain as far as not being a hard rhythm but an impossible feel to copy. You just gained a ton of respect from me on this one recording.
Yes! This is one of the most important feels to master, and Gregg really does justice to Jeff. Wow... This isn't easy, at all. Only hours and hours of practice can lead to the refined shuffle feel the way Jeff and Gregg do it. I challenge any band to properly cover Rosanna -- it's hard!

I had the distinct pleasure to have Greg and his brother Matt (bass) playing on my very first CD back in 1990 ... unfortunately it never got released, what a shame - but it wasn't my fault !!! And I had the pleasure to hear and see Toto back in 1983 or maybe 1984 in Frankfurt/Germany with Jeff Porcaro on drums and Bobby Kimball on crutches and basically sitting down throughout the whole performance, since he had injured his leg a little before that ... and I'm happy to say, that Gregg is a beautiful human being, and I'm proud to say, that I still consider him a friend, too !!! Only my 2 cents ... :)

I got to meet Greg and Matt on the Skyscraper your with David Lee Roth. He is a really really nice guy. He has just gotten new mics for his China and was asking me what it all sounded like out front. He also took the time to introduce me to Steve Vai
I don't think he can play Rosanna by Toto. It's because of the phrasing of the shuffle. He thinks it's triplets. Rosanna groove is quintuplet shuffle. Triplets are cheese. Listen to the phrasing of the keyboard players 'triplets' during his little solo bit, see it's not straight triplets? By that time the band is pulling Greg into the pocket, but he doesn't know what's going on. He can't count and his auditory perception doesn't pick up on the nuance.

What great drumming! beautiful. Very nice job of keeping the beat steady as the rhythm flows with various changes. A much more mature musician in Gregg Bissonette from the crazy old days of DLR.

My gosh Gregg sounds so much like Jeff in this one you would close your eyes and think that is Jeff playing but it is Gregg playing Jeff 's drum parts with such true mastery!!! And such precision !!!! Gregg played Rosanna exactly like Jeff would!!! Jeff would say "Great Job Man"!!!!.
Greg sounds like he would have been a better fit that Simon Phillips who is ofcourse a monster player too but never had that jeff timing quite right Shannon is the best fit since Jeff
I think Gregg is doing a great job. Luke has even said they didn’t necessarily want someone that duplicates Jeff - Gregg is pretty darn close yet puts his own spin on it. Luke perfection as always - ❤️
Infact they didn’t want a copy of Jeff happy that Simon was the drummer after Jeff because a drummer who just copy him would be boring having a guy like Simon is great because he played his style and I’m glad it has been that way !
He come's really close but the problem is that TOTO didn't want anyone who tried or sounded like jeff they wanted someone in there own style utter than trying to impersonate someone

Dear Gregg : Aside the great Jeff you are definitely the second best by playing Rossana by far ... and you know this a very good compliment for any professional drummer .
Love Greg, he is a great note for note player and has the groove for sure. He even wrote notes on the snare head when he was auditioning for DLR which Vai saw and said I want this guy . So soon after Jeffs death, Steve Porcaro said he would not tour with anyone on drums but Simon and Mike Porcaro agreed. most likely because Jeff thought so much of Simon. In the end it doesn't matter what we want but what the band wants and I believe they got it right overall with Simon. Maybe they were looking for more technicality than groove at that point !
Thanx a million for uploading this!!! Never saw it before. It was back in '95 I think. And...your playing is awesome...I mean, I love Simon and everything...but this is as close to Jeff as it could be. You're my hero anyway...so maybe I'm slightly biased haha.
Gregg should have joined Toto when Simon Phillips left in 2014 or when Keith Carlock left in 2015 for Steely Dan. If Jeff Porcaro saw both Simon and Keith's departure, he would even say to Gregg "It's best if you took over the drums and you even play our songs the way I would and they way you do and I suggest you'd better join Toto". Gregg Bissonette should have been Phillips's replacement in 2014 or Carlock's replacement in 2015. He fits well with Toto.

I saw Greg with Toto in Leeds on the Tambu tour, Simon had injured his back so Greg sat in for him, He has since played on Lukes album Luke.
