- AI image tools, including Adobe Firefly, FaceApp, Midjourney and Try It On, can give people appearances, features and characteristics that, well, aren’t real.
WSJ’s Joanna Stern set up an AI photo booth in New York City to test out the photo tools on random strangers.

So honoured to be mentioned 🔥🥳
A question not enough people are asking: what happens to all those images that are being uploaded to the various services? Are you giving those companies permission to use those images in perpetuity to train their large language models?
What about the images you upload on Facebook/Google/apple/Instagram ect? Did you ever read the terms and service?
Yes you are.
the same as google does.
I look forward to seeing myself on Mt. Everest without leaving my couch. My friends will be impressed! Might look good on my resume too.
I want to try out this new way of treating images. Where will it take us - new paths or dead ends?
AI man. Catfish went to unreal levels so that people just use themselves but it's absolutely not a true representation of the person. Gotta meet them all in person.
I love Joanna!
What we learned from this, is A I gonna be the future of photo editing and lots of content creation
imagine what the tech gonna be like in the next 5 years 🤔
Now, 5 years inmortality life maybe with AI
@@contentfreeGPT5-py6uv Seems GPT5 needs work with commenting on YT.
I guess in person job interviews will become important again - not talking to the ai avatar on video
Who is even working in-person, so why would you go to an in-person interview? Never again. Work and results are the most important parts.
This is what happens when old aunties try to look cool 😅
thank you so much
So, photographers are the next to sacrifice their job. Me as a writer/ content creator? Was the first... Everyone is waiting in the line 😊
Writer here, I'm following these development, I don't think even software engineers are safe, everything can be done via just one app, chatgpt, why will other services even exist
Instagram and iphones already changed photography
They supposedly all lost their jobs years ago when the I phone came out.
@@sagarj5743 basically any office job isn't safe
This is frightening!
Joanna's last sentence is what we call Kollupu(கொழுப்பு) in the Tamil(தமிழ்) :-)
This is the end of modeling photography painting writing acting
And pretty much in 5 years of everything
It is possible to adapt instead of fighting. I'm a CG artist and it's only made my work better (after some learning curve).
Oh no! I’m so scared!
Just playing, you need some help dude.
🤡
@@fishercourt what are you talking about? Neither the the freshest or me said we are scared.
Are you schizophrenic delusional or just projecting your fears onto some other humans
pretty soon, most people won't trust anything on the internet.
Let’s Go Mountaineers
Printing Press moment...
Fire fly looked too much like cartoon. Adobe has the interface but for stuff like this are gonna have to fix that
I already replaced all my social media profile pics with a mostly AI generated photo. I'm in the process of AI facial animation to make a video.
Is Face ID still safe to use on iPhone?
It is trickable already. It is good enough security for most people.
Amazing
Pandora's box
Should I go on or am I getting few coins into my guitar case? Do it in a streets, but now there is an internet opportunity. There are fears of not having viewers and fears of how to protect your artists and if you are able to get your ebay monetization reward. This is kind of social exposure your folk organization gives to every student.
It sounds exactly the same except it’s now DIY and not a service you can’t or don’t want to pay for. I guess creative people need to start getting creative again 😂
Mugshots
Seems like paid ads cause obviously there are much cheaper and better solutions out there for AI-photography....
When people actually see you in person, you're not so lovely..I think I will call it the "Dorian grey" ai photo shoot..
Enables lying. Great.
ai testing you and wsj taking advertising money from technocrats
Sell your Adobe stock! That was cringe bad....
