I hiked that section a year before you and had an issue with water also. I ended up going off-trail about a half mile before the junction to the tentsite to find a small stream that was flowing. I'd rather be tired, cold and wet all at once than be thirsty.

Quite the train journey to the start. Water is a real challenge on the NET, especially when it is hot and dry as it was when I thru hiked it. I did 2 water drops both in CT. I also stayed at that group site too. Nice spot.

Water wasn’t ever a difficulty for me when I did it. I never carried more than 1L of water at any given time.

You weren't the only one that had moments of confusion with the overabundance of blue blazes! It also took my brain forever to correctly read the " one up & to the L" or "one up & to the R" turn blazes plus these were sometimes wrong or completely non existent at junctions! Nice score on the pond water!

Jeez, sounds like a tough one to follow. That Connecticut Blue-blazed system can be confusing since several "main" trails cross each other and will both have the blue blazes. Lack of water can be a real problem - especially with the heat we've been having lately. Glad to see you were able to use the hammock on Night 2.

Those blazes did look super confusing there in the beginning, wow. The water game can be so stressful, especially with the moderate drought like conditions we're experiencing up here at the moment. Glad you were able to find some! Good luck!

Mid 80's is hot? How did you survive in Florida ;) At least you're out there hiking unlike me who hasn't been on a good hike in months. Of course hiking in 90° with 60-70% humidity is a killer with lows only in the mid 70's at night. Looking forward to some time in PA where the temps will get better.

Haha, I am finding I am very sensitive to the heat while hiking! Especially while carrying weight on my back. Our temps have been 90s and humid here in NH too. Not ideal hiking temps!

@@HikingwithJenny yeah. Glad to see you survived otherwise videos wouldn’t have likely been posted. I hope to do some day hikes while in PA where the temperature is survival able.
