Hiya! I have lived in Japan and Baumkuchen are HUGE over here! We also call them tree cakes and I think (though I may be wrong) they were brought over after WW1 ☺️
@@9Tailsfan the issue is it’s a popular desert in Japan and there is actual historical disagreement over whose actually created it. Germans claim it and the name because a German came up with it, but the Japanese claim the first one was created on their soil by Karl Jucheim who was a prisoner of war in Hiroshima and is a delicacy in their culture. Its an interesting story.
Cherry's clothes pallete today is matching with Sakuraco and it's a mood. XD I absolutely adore Japanese snacks as well so I think I'll get this one day~
That box would make such a great picnic with a few friends under a lovely tree in the spring as leaves are coming out. Maybe bring a thermos with hot water for the tea, and a few simple teacups. And bring the glass that came in the box with a small bottle of saki to pour for each other and share. I almost want to order just to do that! Fantastic video as always, I love the sweater!
Baumkuchen (word for word translation: tree cake) is actually a German thing I thought. Love it. Here in Germany you get a Baumkuchen with an chocolate outer layer ☺️ loving this videos of you 🥰❤️
I don't think it's German. The name is german couse it was brought to Japan by german people. But it's not really German. Not really Japanese either tho. 😅
@@charliestevenson6381 Google says it’s origin is in Germany since 1807. So it truly is a German thing ☺️ you can buy it all year around here in Germany 🤗. After WW1 the Baumkuchen was popular in Japan because of a German conditor who worked in a cafe in Tokio ☺️ I guess you can say it’s a German and Japanese thing
The glass that came in the box would also be great to use to serve a small desert in such as the jelly or a chocolate mouse. Or you could even put some nuts in it or candy in it as a small serving for 1.
Such a beautiful box.. with the teas, cookies, cakes and more look tempting enough to reach through the screen. Makes me want a subscription. I could never afford that. So sweet that you show this to us. ❤️
As a German person I need to comment something about the Baumkuchen. The translation is tree cake and you can buy them in supermarkets covered with chocolate here. 😅
I am excited to order this! 🌸 I haven't tried a Japanese snack box before because I'm picky about flavors and textures of food. But seeing this review I feel very safe with everything in THIS box. 🌸 Thank you for this was the most comprehensive review and I'm REALLY hoping you continue to do more of them for the Sakuraco boxes later! 🍱🌸
Hi. Just FYI on item 5: baumkuchen is German and translates into tree cake. Is a special dessert from the eastern parts of Germany near the polish boarder. Usually the individual layers are more pronounced so you can see each ring. In Germany we cover them with chocolate to resemble the tree bark. Absolutely delicious. I have gotten them in the UK previously so may be worth looking out for.
I just got my box today and all the flavors!! It was definitely a journey!! I couldn't decide on a favorite but my least favorite was the red wine senbei. I love watching your videos
Watch out for the billing. I tried to order the 3 month subscription at $35 per month with the discount code, and once I’d put my details in, it bumped the price back up to the full individual box price. That’s a big red flag.
I tried too and it first it was upgraded to the 12 month so 500 USD +, I had to retry multiple times. Anyway I live in France and I must fill a "state" in the form when order but we don't have such thing as a state...
I’ve subscribed to Sakaraco and it really good! Just have to go off and on with the snack boxes due to cost and not being able to eat everything. Don’t want it to go to waste 🙂
Different sakis for each season . Always drink in small glass as it is potent. I went to saki festival. Had too many s as ki sours. The room spun in one direction then spun in opposite direction. Took hours to sober up
I use bokksu and they had a killer Sakura box as well! I got two of those senbei crackers with some soy and I’m literally addicted to senbei crackers now 😂😂 I will buy more in the shop if they have it when I try something like it
I LOVE you'r jacket!!!!! There ' s a lot of snacks inside, l ' m hungry, I wont to trie alllllll!!!!!! LOVE this food and LOVE you Cherry 😊. Amazing 💗❤️💗❤️💗❤️💗❤️💗👏👏👏👏👏😥🙌🙌🙌🙌🙌
Communal tea time opportunity! 😊 I hope that they keep sending this box to you and that it could become a gentle tea time ritual. It would be wonderful if maybe you could have a hot tea pot ready (and tea cup) and share it all in a much slower gentler pace (like your recent video about living alone which was so peaceful and enjoyable). The items are so full of beauty and grace. I'd really enjoy seeing you open this regularly in a softer tea time setting. I'm glad you are helping them to get new subscribers. That is wonderful of you!! I'm very excited about this potentially becoming a cozy relaxed community tea time. There are a lot of non-brits who are starved for shared slow-paced tea times. I have pretty western and asian tea things and I would get them out for these videos if they were like that. umm, total use of phrase "tea time" = 5. Can you tell how excited I am by the possibility? lol. fingers crossed and heart is hopeful. and oh, the pink is so soft and pretty.
Love Japanese mochi and food in general 🌸🌸🌸. I think this is the earliest I've been on here! On another note...it sucks that Primark is not in the US! BOOO
Baumkuchen is original from Germany. That mean nothing else as Treecake. So your are right with your vision. But I had a good laugh when your tried to say baumkuchen :D
I really wanted to do a full year subscription, but it’s $390.00 upfront for the year. I wish they billed monthly. Still highly tempted to purchase just one box tho 😂
The tree comparison for the Baumkuchen was appropriate... Baumkuchen is German and would roughly translate to "Tree Cake". We occasionally eat Baumkuchen during Christmas here in Germany (at least in the part of Germany I live in. idk about the rest) Also now I'm craving Japanese snacks
@@charliestevenson6381 What I meant was that the word "Baumkuchen" is German. not that the cake is an inherently German thing. I just said that it's a German word and that we eat it for Christmas in Germany.

Again fascinating to see a German cake (Baumkuchen) sold mainly around Christmas in a Japanese snack box
Yup! I would love to see all Twitter puritan who screech about "cultural appropriation " try and wrap their heads around this.

Ok but the wand collection in the back is impressive af
Those snacks look amazing! I love trying new foods, especially sweets.

I ordered mine on the 24th February, its apparently now been returned to warehouse from the Shipping status. Watching this for joy.

I loved the behind the making of the things Thingeys and the other page
You can Put a spoon of jelly in a Cup of cold or hot water. It's like a Tea. 😊
Love your snack box videos! How would you say this one compares to Bokksu? Would love to try one out but not sure which is best! ♥️
Wow, what a box!! It had so much in it. Would love to see future boxes.

I am so going to subscribe to this. I love any thing japanese😄
"Baumkuchen" is from a german origin and translated as "treecake", so the look of an inside of a tree is intentional.
Yes, it’s the second one I’ve tried I really like them!
