Don't mind the portions, you can double it you just have to say it. Just as information, because meat is relatively high price when you look to the income, most turks prefer the small portion :))

To be fair, the portions don’t look small, they look manageable. In the UK I get donner kebabs from a local takeaway and they put that much meat on it you don’t know what to do with it. Can make a second kebab out of the quantity they pile on. The salad is on top and soon goes, leaving you just the meat. I end up putting more of my own salad and sauce on at home.
the best doner kebab is always in Ankara...the others doing this kebab from minced meat....in Ankara, best doner has no mince in it.... the best ones are "Yaprak Donercisi" and "Donerci Kardesler".....search for them.....bon appétit....have a nice day.... :)

It's a Turkish word but it's pronounced with Arabic accent. It's actually "Çevirme" in Turkish. But Arabs can't say that. They don't have the "ch" sound. So they say shawarma. And it means "rotating (one)" . This kind of food was invented in Turkey, by the Turks . And their neighbors (Arabs, Greeks etc.) made their own versions.
No, it's a reasonable amount. Don't need unnecessary pounds of the stuff like Americans are used to, who then end up becoming fat-asses waiting for a coronary.
