Most American movies and TV shows have everybody speak in English when they are in other countries and even aliens on other planets usually speak English. And thats countries where most people cant speak English that good or cant speak English at all. Just think its annoying that people make that sound like an Anime thing but other countries do it too.
Well that’s simply to emphasize that the event is happening globally... Everyone in the world will speak Japanese if the plot needs it to; however, it wasn’t necessary in this occasion.

Okay I need to say this, for the first episode i felt like the first part before the theme song where it stars with everyone at school, to the end where it turned to black. Legitmatley feels like a short film. A emotional one too, and I will forever remember “i have loved you for hundreds and thousands of years!” That line was just so touching and thoughtful

The birds (specifically swallows) got turned to stone a week before the humans, but other than that it's a mystery. One of senku's possibilities was that the swallows were a test before using it on the humans, but it's still a mystery.
I have this feeling that the Author actually thought of Taiju being the main character of Dr Stone at first, but later own changed his mind and selected Senku as the main character.
Well you can say the senku is the protagonist and the other is the main character. Kinda like things are in mob psycho 100, Reigen is the main character but the story is about Mob the protagonist.
It would be such a nice touch if at the end Senku, after restoring society and recreating the value system (idk if he will be able to), says something like "Where is my 10.000 yen?" After a flashback of the bet scene.
The birds did become stone, maybe the guy who did it made it intentional that only birds and humans can be stones. Just my theory so dont take it seriously.
