I must say that I have heard of this man, yet never listened to any of his music before. Solely because, in general, I do not care for rap or hip-hop (I'm old, so sue me). However, I took the opportunity to dive into this tune and "have a look-see." My mind is blown! Lyrics are KILLER good, and I agree 1000% with Tom. People don't like people who tell the truth... Rock on y'all............. Thanks for the enlightenment.

I am the same as you, pushing 60 and didn’t want to listen to this guy because of his looks and his genre. I was so wrong... I have since listened to everything he has done, and bought everything I could from him. Not because I needed more CDs, but to help support him to keep getting messages like this out. America needs him like a shot of penicillin. He is America’s most dangerous man, through his platform he can change young millennial minds... make them to maybe think again! I even checked out his girlfriends music and videos and have become a huge fan of her and her earlier work.

Tom is a poet-warrior. He comes in fast and hard stacking truth upon truth, until by the end of the song he's created a reality sword that he's used to slice apart the delusions that the system indoctrinates us to believe. This song is a companion song to "The Machine", which he released on an album and didn't make a music-video for. After he released "The System", he re-released "The Machine" as a single with a music-video. The two songs are the same story told from two different perspectives.
In "The Machine" the story is being told by an angelic-figure within the machine, who is explaining to the masses how the System has tricked them, divided them, and subjugated them. The angelic-nature of the character is revealed when he holds his hands to together in prayer as his face is turned to Heaven, and he sings the line, "Evil runs the world today like Hell ain't got no vacancy."
In "The System" the story is being told by a red eyed demonic-figure (the System), who is gloating and mocking the masses as he tells them how stupid they are to allow him to trick them, divide them, and subjugate them.
When you combine Tom's lyrical genius along with Nova's visual-art genius, they form a wrecking ball of sound and sight that hammers your mind and heart at the same time. They don't promote division via targeting system-labeled groups; they trumpet a call for unification to all of humanity. This is why they've gained a following of millions of fans that is cross-generational and cross-cultural.
Tom is so amazing. He's been my favorite artist for the last year and I have never been a fan of rap in my life. I'm a 54 year old hard rocking guitar player. There's just some special about him. Then you have Nova and they're unstoppable. Always love your reactions. You're awesome.

This song is not only a banger, but it's also like a kick to the head. I haven't seen you two react to a song before that affected you like this one did. Your jaws hit the floor, and pretty much stayed there for the whole song. Shawn looked like he was going to be I'll when the song ended, and Mel was trying to vibe to the song, while being gobsmacked herself.
This song, bar for bar is nothing but truth, and I think it doesn't matter what you believe in, or who/what you support...this song applies to everyone.
The lyrics, and their delivery were perfect. The visual concept and practical effects give even more impact to the message being given.
I think the part that impacts me the most everytime I listen to this song, is where he says "What you choose, will never matter...because everything is mine!". To me, it feels like it's being said by the devil, and it's his way of saying "Checkmate", like he was here all along.
