Gyro is pronounced 'yih-roh' I've only ever seen the 'Yiros' spelling, so I was surprised that some overseas English speaking countries spell it 'gyros'. Maybe it was the misreading of the original Greek letters, but I checked with a Greek speaking friend and it's definitely 'yiro'.
This looks like a fantastic festival to attend, and yes you do need lots and lots of patience when attending popular festivals!
Tons of fun,but the lines run long everywhere and it even takes a while just to find a parking space.
