The game looks amazing. I really didn't want to have to get the Premium... I'm not one that buys new pinball machines but I love my Black Knight 2000 so much that I need this. It really pisses me off that they took away the upper playfield in the Pro... 1500 extra for something that should have been part of the main design... It's one thing if they had cool stuff that made me want to upgrade but to take away an integral part of the game's design to make me upgrade is really crass and feels like money grubbing... I also wish it was possible to mix and match the art... I would love one with the premium body but the Pro backbox side art.

One of the most astonishing things is the number of people who have not played both former WMS titles. Next generation players will enjoy it. The best part is my BK2K went up in value. "Give me your money."
I see several potential problems. Durability of the clear upper playfield is definitely central, and ease of maintenance. BK2K had a great access due to the hinge design of the upper playfield. This game looks flat footed with not being able to be taken apart quickly. It starts to remind me of Whitewater when you see the number of widgets that have to come off to replace components. However, in the case of Whitewater, all major assemblies were still at least accessible with a cut through design underneath the main playfield.
Ritchie says that its easy. "5" screws or something like that. Granted not as easy as the single screw that BK2K had. I can only hope that the upper PF is easily changeable due to scratches over time.
Listen to Coast2coast pinball and SR talked a lot about the topper. It surprised me how much he talked about the topper. That it will be a Black Knight head that looks side to side at you. Seems cool. I want a Maiden... but being a fan of this look I’m going to play it and see if it captures me with the Story Mode progression mode system they will have
Please buy the Premium or LE so I don't have too. Then maybe I can come mow your lawn and you will let me play it at your place! So excited about this pin.

Texas Pinball Festival is the biggest and best event for that. If MGC is mixed media then there are too many other things to steal the spotlight or too many people that might not care about pinball. Ford doesn't debut the new Mustang at show that showcases every type of vehicle from bikes to tractors. They debut it a car show.

TPF is fantastic, but there are other great shows, including California Extreme, which feature a lot of pinball. It took more than a few years for MGC to get recognized for the amount of pinball there, even in Stern's backyard. Stats fluctuate and change, but roughly half of Stern's global market is still to operators, of which I am one...transformed from a collector and hobbyist. MGC gives the greatest overall exposure of pinball at a hobby show, due to the diverse crowd it attracts. As for attendance...yes, TPF is huge, but MGC is gigantic...the numbers aren't even close. While the pinball collector/hobbyist is very important to Stern, they are always trying to attract new players and buyers. People going to a pinball show are likely already really into pinball...they don't need to be convinced to play or buy. Compare that to what I as an operator hear all the time from the average Joe: "Oh, wow! They still make those things?!" Anyway, I'm not saying Stern chose to debut their newest game at MGC over TPF...it could have simply been a timing issue with production. I'm sure it will only be a few weeks before the Pro model makes it to your favorite location, arcade, or showroom...and you can decide if it's for you at that point. Personally, I'm probably sold on the Pro. I agree missing the upper playfield is sucky, but the tiny upper on the Premium seems not much more than a ball lock...although that is cool as well. The flail lane feeds the upper PF. Once up there you would need to shoot around the orbit a certain amount of times in order for the ball to lock. The upper PF is indeed mainly for locking the balls for MB.
I wonder if the quality will be at excellent with this game. And did they finish the software for the game or im l going to have to update it 7 times like other titles from stern . Black Knight is one of my favorite pin. But is it worth 7500 cnd dollars for a pro.? That is the question.
I doubt you will ever see a game released with full code anymore. Too many tweaks that need fixing and can only typically be found through the public and competition use.

SR said today (coast2coast podcast) the upper playfield easily comes of for cleaning with 5 screws and he designed it to easily see underneath.
Also the Lexan is cut so the flipper does not need to be removed. 3 connectors. Piece of cake.
