DDLV has been out of early access for months, but we still get game-breaking bugs with every update. There are similar indie titles that rarely have this issue with half the team size and resources.
I’m loving the update so far but the best part of any update for me is the new decor ! Decorating is my favorite aspect of the game and the whole reason I initially bought it , so this new bug is definitely frustrating! At least I can still cover my valley in magnolia trees !
Exactly how I feel! I absolutely LOVE eastern decor, themes, and architecture so this update is right up my alley. I'm just incredibly dissappinted with the Scrooge bug as I won't be able to apply many of the changes I was excited for!
I discovered a complementary but separate issue when opening the green chests in the Mulan realm. In one of the chests, I received a new furniture item called "Weapon Rack;" however, it was not added to my furniture pool nor even recognized by the game as being received.

Fortunately the majority of people have had time to get more items in their inventory. I do feel sorry for the ones who have just started playing recently. Can we buy the duplicate items we already have in Scrooge store if it’s there to buy, or is that also affected? @ButterflyMama To answer your question, no items that actually "show up" in Scrooges shop should be impacted by this, as premium/starpath items never appear on the shop floor even after you've unlocked them. Currently, the items impacted by this bug are premium shop items, starpath items, and limited or special event items. Also, even if I were the gameloft CEO I would still stream. If Elon Mush can spend half his life on Twitter and still be a CEO then I can stay on Twitch and TH-cam! Lol!
I don’t mind waiting for it to be fixed. I can see the POV from a full time content creator how maddening it would be but for me, with the star path and new characters to grind I have enough to occupy my time completing those in a timely fashion. I have hope Gameloft will make the corrections - if not I whole hardily agree with you that they are shooting themselves in the foot with the devoted and phenomenal majority of their fan base.
For sure! At least for now, I have plenty to do before I need to worry about decorating with these new items. The starpath, new quests, new events, Remmy's quests, ect. Though, I am bummed I won't be able to properly highlight these items in my starpath review. All that said, if this isn't fixed in a couple of weeks it's going to be problematic. Decorating is a big part of the game. Once we work through the new content, there won't be much to fill the void if we can't use new decor.
My thoughts exactly. I play on PC and Steamdeck. So I see both sides here. They shouldn't have forced the change on controller players. It would have been better to add it as a toggle feature.
Well, unfortunately, it's not really "broken." It's doing exactly what the patch notes said it would do. With that said, I don't think they should have forced that change on players. It should have been optional. Like a toggle system that can lock the screen for players who like the feature vs players who dislike the feature.

I’ve not been able to pick up any of the emotion orbs to unlock the new companions, the orb floats up like normal then just pops back on the floor 😅 it’s annoying but kinda funny to see it but hope that’s sorted soon
Dreamlight Valley is the first video game my wife and I have played long-term together since Disney Infinity. We have absolutely loved this game and have spent a LOT of time and real life money on it. But we’re starting to get really turned off by the extremely high IRL cost of constant new items and gameplay and the extreme bugginess that goes with it. How can the most expensive game we’ve ever played (seriously, $50 for a handful of digital 3D images!) also be the buggiest and most unreliable? We only play privately on our PS5 and never online. And now the very greedy at *GL* are punishing us for the hacks of others. “Frustrated” is an understatement. Financially milked and abused is more like it. After over a year of playing this game, it kills me to feel this way.
They didn't completely fix it. The plaza in wele my valley disappeared when Mushu came out of it .came back for the picture . Before the update candy trees now this .
The other issue they're going to run into is people will dispute the moonstone purchases because they (in essence) didn't get what they paid for. I work for a large bank, I've seen this a lot. If companies lose a dispute, they have to pay a fine to the bank to cover the dispute investigation as well as for being in violation of their merchant contracts. And even if that goes to Sony/microsoft/whatever they'll pass that cost along in turn to gameloft. And the more disputes you lose for the same issue the larger the fine. If they don't fix this, between dispute charge backs and fines, and loss of future sales, it'll be waaay more expensive for them.
Wow! I didn't even consider that angle but that's a very good point! Hopefully this will be patched in a matter of days. It should have never happened in the first place tbh!
They’ve been doing layoffs for over a year now. I have a friend who worked at the studio in Romania where 136 employees were laid off when they shut the studio down back in May. It’s really sad.
So, I looked into this, and nobody from the Gameloft studio that works on DDLV was laid off. The layoffs occurred at Gameloft Toronto (49 layoffs) and Gameloft Romania (136) layoffs. Fortunately, Gameloft Montreal (the studio that handles DDLV) did not experience any layoffs. This is probably because DDLV has been performing modestly for Gameloft and at this time cuts were not necessary.
With how many bugs they have it's like they don't test before release. If they don't fix the bug within the next couple weeks I'll probably stop playing all together since there's so many other similar games
Or maybe it's Gameloft ruining it by not testing their updates at all - cause with how many issues were in the last update, the hotfix and this update, it certainly seems like they don't do any testing. This bug is so major and so easy to catch, that I'm honestly shocked that they completely missed it
@@alam5055BINGO! This is 100% a gameloft issue! People are going to exploit games by modding them. Coding things to prevent that from happening is just part of being a game developer in the modern age. Countless game developers fade the exact same thing. Gameloft, on the other hand, has a MAJOR issue when it comes to not play testing the game, along with their extremely faulty and lazy game code. The game is so broken in so many ways, and they keep putting on bandaids rather than fixing the actual source of the issue within their coding. At this rate, I don’t see this game having the longevity everyone wants it to have. There is just no way the game can keep surviving longterm with how unstable the foundation of the game code is.
Think it goes both ways I used to buy $20 of moonstones and they’d last me 2 weeks and now buy $50 isn’t even enough for one week of premium items. I get the inventory increased but so have the prices of items
This is my fave Star Path since I started playing in March '23. And also my fave premium shop drops on update day. I also LOVE the new Remy furniture from his daily quests. It's frustrating to not be able to buy duplicates especially since decorating is my favorite aspect of this beautiful game. I hope they patch this soon. In the meantime I will do Mulan and Mushu quest line, grind out the Star Path so I can get duplicates of everything as soon as the bug is fixed and I will try and challenge myself more in Dreamsnaps.
For now, I've been able to work with just the one copy of the items in my builds, so while annoying, it's okay for me for now. I just really want to get more of those magnolia petal piles for a Frosted Heights build I have in mind, but that's about it. You do have a good point at the "why" behind this bug, since the blue chests were one of the most glaring issues. I LOVE LOVE LOVE the update so far with all the new clothing and mystical phoenix companion and wings!! Totally in love with it all.
Same! It's one of my favorite Starpaths of all time, and I'm so happy with the new theme! Sure, the Scrooge shop bug is a pain, but I have plenty to do while they work towards a fix. 😁
@@Probably_Senpai Exactly! I've sent a bug report about the store to Gameloft and they responded with telling me that they are working on a fix for the Scrooge bug, and though it may take some time, they will aim to have it fixed as soon as possible.
Yeah seems like a pretty big oversight in testing. For me personally, I am ok if they fix it before next weekly reset. It's still having this issue in the next decor snap challenge where it will really annoy me
When they gave us the new patch notes i wish the would warn us about whats to come😅 when i saw the stitch dreamsnap and then the stitch bundle❤ i already had an idea what i wanted to do but now i can't 😢 but i have to say im pretty impressed with this update might be my favourite one yet...i do hope they will give us options to choose if we want a static cursor or a moveable one, same with the zoomed in speed
I’m loving the new Mulan content and Star path in the update so far! Unfortunately a lot of the bugs i’ve experienced in previous versions have not been fixed and seem to have actually increased in frequency (fish still on screen after catching, not being able to scroll in collection tab, trouble leaving houses, and wild monkeys disappearing). No crashes yet but a little annoying to have to restart the game when I encounter these. Since the devs said a major focus of the update would be bug fixes I was hoping these issues would be solved. Here’s hoping a new Hotfix doesn’t break the game more!
I love this game and I really don't like criticizing it,, but they have taken my decorating from a pleasurable experience to a maddening one with the slow scrolling in furniture mode to pick up and move items. I would not have minded it being a little slower ,but this is like a turtle slow.
If you pan out, it moves faster, but I do not like the change at all! This is something literally no one asked for. It’s at the point where they need to halt all new content/features and focus on fixing what’s wrong with the game to make it stable and playable! It’s like putting new items on a broken table…everything is going to end up on the ground. That’s what this game feels like to me. I’m constantly on pins and needles waiting for another glitch or game freeze to interrupt what was supposed to be a cozy and relaxing gameplay experience.
I feel they are breaking things that don’t need breaking. This bug is beyond frustrating. Like you said, we look forward to decorating with new items. Well, one stone lantern and kite not make a decorated valley. They need to do a covert operation like Animal Crossing did/does. Find the retailers and ban their account. Nintendo does this and don’t play around. Game Loft is playing with a HUGE community. They can’t just, “oops, we are a cute little operation. We are trying” anymore.
Couldn't have said it better myself! This is exactly how I feel about the situation! Taking a page out of Nintendos book and going after some of these retailers would be a great start. We all know Nintendo would NEVER let this slide. They won't even let you give away emulators of games they don't sell anymore. 😂
I still recommend getting Mulan and Mushu. You get plenty of items from them that you can buy from scrooge and craft. Not to mention, there are plenty of things to focus on right now other than decorating. The new quests, starpath, and events. I'm hoping that by the time players are finishing up these tasks, the patch will be in, and we'll be able to move forward with our Scrooge shop purchases and decor changes. 😀
I didn’t realize it was targeted at premium/star path items. I thought it was random and effecting new items just bc. Now it makes more sense at least, but still a bummer
I know this issue is troubling but I'd like to add that I'm remaining optimistic about the game overall and the future of DDLV. 😁 Sure, this issue is frustrating and never should have happened in the first place... but with that in mind, there are many more positive things about this update than negative. Overall stability seems better (for most players I've spoken with), the new quests are very entertaining, the new realm was well made, the starpath was a breathe of fresh air, and the new inside out / remmy quests are bringing even more interesting content to the game. 😁 Overall, I'm very happy with this update. I just want to speak out honestly when I feel like something needs to be addressed quickly (like the issue in this video!) If you are feeling discouraged despite the positive changes or if some of these positive changes didn't impact you, that's okay too! It's okay to take a break or step away from a game you love for a bit while things get sorted out. Gaming should always be enjoyable, entertaining, and relaxing. Cheers Mel!
i’m loving this update this is my first ever star path i’ve almost completed it i just need to get a frew more things from it but ive only got 1:000 moonstones i will complete it when i get more moonstones ill do my dreamsnap everyday and get my blue moonstone chest 😊
I would only use the blue chest to get my old items back that I got in the beginning that I lost when resetting. I was sleepy and clicked on the wrong thing. I would never cheat. Like some of the rides. Wheel and teacup and some of the items we got in early game
I haven't been able to do any dreamsnap voting due to it bugging out since the update. I also have had my scrooge shop bug out where when I enter the shop it zooms the shop out and you can't interact with anything in it causing you to have to have to restart your game.
That Scrooge shop bug has been around for a while. It's happened to me 4 or 5 times on PC. It doesn't happen to me often, but it does occur on occasion. Certainly not a new bug, so I'm surprised it's still an issue. 😅 It's unfortunate to hear about the dreamsnaps voting, though... as it's required for a starpath duty. Hopefully, it was only acting up due to high traffic and will work properly in a day or two!
@Probably_Senpai Hopefully, it will be fixed soon as I've tried multiple times and have already gotten the starpath task for it as I've been pushing hard through it as I have both my alt and my daughters to push through after this one.
Thank you so much for posting this and being so honest with your take on what’s going on. It’s been more than frustrating playing the game since the “fix” after the Daisy update. I had cautious optimism going into this update and I was hyped to grind out the Star Path first this time around before moving onto the new realm and characters, but this bug has soured the whole experience for me. I love this game and it has provided a much needed mental and emotional outlet for me since its early access days, but in the past several months I’ve become more and more disenchanted with it. I hope they find a way to better navigate their staffing issues in conjunction with providing stable and reliable gaming content because if they don’t, this game’s days might indeed be numbered.😢
I had a bug that was telling me I’d already brought the star path moonstones. Added them 2x to my moons, so if I got the x200 it’d say I’d already got it but then it’d add x400 to my moons!! And no this wasn’t a good thing because I could not spend them. I wanted the tinkerbell house but was unable to buy it coz my moons said they where at 3000 but in reality they where not coz of the glitch adding more then what I actually had😂
I'm having this issue, but I've never bought moonstones. All of my premium shop purchases have been from earned moonstones via dreamsnaps. It's very frustrating since I've started decorating around Mulan's house. Me personally, I don't mind waiting for a fix because I play a lot of other games. Especially with two new F2P games next week. So it just gives me time to complete the star path, character quests and just overall collect resources.
I'm enjoying the update overall and this star path is phenomenal however the bug is super frustrating because I was so excited to decorate with these new items!
Love the update. However, the bugs are out of the control. I no nothing about making a game. But when i have new things added to my work programs, they are put into a test platform to fix any bugs before its uploaded into the main program. Cannot this be done for games??
In most cases yes, these things can and should be ran on a seperate test or beta server before rolling out to the public. I think more often than not, Gameloft is too eager to push out the new updates regardless of whether or not sufficient testing was applied. It's an unfortunate norm within the "live-service" gaming industry. I can see "some" minor bugs slipping through on testing but I'm surprised nobody caught or even considered this. Then again... it's entirely possible they did find this issue when testing but chose to roll it out anyway until they could find a work around as upper management could have pressured them due to the loss of profits from the hacked blue chest issues.
Super Mad I can’t get duplicates. I hateeeeee decorating right now. It’s soooooo slow even when I scan out. I hate that when I’m decorating I can no longer use the arrow buttons to place things. I’m on switch. Not loving the update so far… also I don’t like the small orbs, I prefer them normal size. They were easier to find… I’m so disappointed and I spent $100 so I could buy everything since I had no moonstones. Extreamly Frustrated….. 😩 I kept playing through all the bugs and crashes. I didn’t think anything could get me to put this game down but I’m seriously thinking of hanging it up now, I’m not even excited for star path at this point. Oh and my inside out challenge isn’t fully working, 😣😩😭😭😭
I can't submit a dreamsnap because it's claiming I have touch of magic items in the photo which isn't true :/ I also hate the way the controller works now, it's not as fluid as it was :/
There is a new option on the camera mode, which makes all touch of magic items invisible. You can find this toggle right above the camera menu in the left hand corner. Toggle touch of magic off and you'll be able to submit.
it scrolls slow when zoomed in and zoomed out, and i used to place things with my d-pad (i'm on switch), and can't now. don't you love it when companies "fix" things that aren't broken? yeesh
I don't know if it's just my game but whenever I go in furniture mode and move the cursor around the valley it moves so fricken slow! Usually that was only the case when I had already selected a path to put in my valley, but now just moving around the cursor takes forever from biome to biome. Fix this!

Potentially yes. Though, typically if someone is tech savvy enough to create mods or exploit a game's code in this manner, it's very likely that they'd be operating under a VPN which would make it extremely difficult for Gameloft to get an IP address... and while Gameloft could terminate or lock their account, they could just turn around and make a new account if Gameloft can't figure out their IP address. 🤔 For Gameloft, the best way to shut this situation down would be to alter their games code to remove potential exploits but it's a tricky process and as we're seeing now, can often carry unintended consequences. 😣
Dropped 50$ on this game today before I even played the update. Wtf are they doing? They are quite literally trying to throw away the game at this point. Like it’s already difficult on switch with the errors and force closes. Now decorating takes 10 years. And the Scrooge shop error. I’m a good bean. I don’t time skip. I wait patiently. Like I’ll send my submits and get nothing every single time. In the beginning I was getting idk 2000 moonstones for my submissions. Now it’s nothing. I’m sadden bc I’ve quite literally dropped like at least 800$ on this game. I love it so much. But they treat us like cash cows at this point.
Hey Lauren! I would like to address a few things here in your comment. You may find some of this information helpful, and hopefully, it'll make you feel a bit better! First off, I actually like decorating more thanks to this update! It's way faster, not slower! However, you need to know how the system works. The closer your camera is to the ground, the slower it moves. The further away from the ground, the faster in moves. Simply zoom out and up to increase camera speed. The reason it's faster is because now you can duplicate items and swap out all of your pathing at once. I recommend reading the patch notes for more information. Secondly, you CAN'T time skip in this game. NOBODY can time skip. It destroys your save file. This isn't Animal Crossing... DDLV is a live service game, and it's synced with DDLV's servers. Time skipping literally breaks the game. Everyone has to "wait patiently" so you're not alone... none of us time skip. 😅 Lastly, if you want to earn more from dreamsnaps, you should watch this video next. It completely breaks down the dreamsnaps system, and it can explain why your ranks are lower than you'd like. Dreamsnapa is NOT random or luck based. I don't mind waiting a while to get this fixes and will spend my moonstones in Premiumshop items that are effected when I like them. I oc understand the frustration, but I Hope DLV Devs don't get that mich roasted for this...
The blue chest thing is a serious issue. I think it is reasonable for us not to be able to buy extra copies of items for a week or two, in order to prevent thousand of dollars worth of stuff from being stolen. It is also annoying for the players who don't steal, knowing you have to pay or work hard and save up from in game sources, and someone just comes by randomly and steals all the items and now they have everything.
I wouldn't say it's *reasonable* for Gameloft to roll out this change without properly testing it or considering how it can impact the playerbase. I can and did acknowledge *why* it happened, but if you want companies to improve, you can't give them a free pass on things like this. It's simply not acceptable. They could have fixed the issue without punishing the entire playerbase. This brings even more negative press and damage to the game, potentially costing them even more money. So no, it's not reasonable in my eyes. The Blue Chest issue, of course, MUST be addressed but not at the detriment of your playerbase and their ability to enjoy what they spent their money on. I say this as a massive supporter of DDLV. If we want the game to be well received and to grow, we MUST hold Gameloft accountable when things like this happen.

Not being able to buy extra items is an annoying bug. Some times you got to have priorities. I feel like if they gave everyone a 1000 moonstones for the inconvenience of not being able to buy extra items, most people wouldn't be upset. So it is a problem they are resolve with low effort. Every day people are making blue chests though, they are doing permanent damage to the game that might not be able to ever be fixed.
I literally said it's a BUG (See video title), and I explained why the bug happened. I also said they are punishing their player base but NOT intentionally. Pay attention next time, and you won't have to look silly in the comments. The only one who "lost the plot" here was you, considering you clearly misinterpreted everything I was saying. The issue here was the hacked blue chest fix being rolled out without proper testing. We all know it's not intentionally *as clearly stated in the video*, but that doesn't mean it should have happened. 99% of the players who watched this video seemed to understand this just fine... but you couldn't for whatever reason. That may be because you weren't really listening or you just heard what you wanted to hear. Either way, please watch the video again and listen closely next time. 😉 Cheers!

The camera on controller is really bad but is great for keyboard. So I wish they would have an option on which to use in settings

Dreamlight Valley is the first video game my wife and I have played long-term together since Disney Infinity. We have absolutely loved this game and have spent a LOT of time and real life money on it. But we’re starting to get really turned off by the extremely high IRL cost of constant new items and gameplay and the extreme bugginess that goes with it. How can the most expensive game we’ve ever played (seriously, $50 for a handful of digital 3D images!) also be the buggiest and most unreliable? We only play privately on our PS5 and never online. And now the very greedy at *GL* are punishing us for the hacks of others. “Frustrated” is an understatement. Financially milked and abused is more like it. After over a year of playing this game, it kills me to feel this way.
Soon it will be comparable to sims 4 greed but sims at least doesn’t have so many bugs
After dealing with the shitty dissappearing bug, even if it isn't the worst. It's a rude surprise to not being able to buy duplicates.
They didn't completely fix it. The plaza in wele my valley disappeared when Mushu came out of it .came back for the picture . Before the update candy trees now this .
The other issue they're going to run into is people will dispute the moonstone purchases because they (in essence) didn't get what they paid for. I work for a large bank, I've seen this a lot. If companies lose a dispute, they have to pay a fine to the bank to cover the dispute investigation as well as for being in violation of their merchant contracts. And even if that goes to Sony/microsoft/whatever they'll pass that cost along in turn to gameloft. And the more disputes you lose for the same issue the larger the fine. If they don't fix this, between dispute charge backs and fines, and loss of future sales, it'll be waaay more expensive for them.
Wow! I didn't even consider that angle but that's a very good point! Hopefully this will be patched in a matter of days. It should have never happened in the first place tbh!
I just read a report that 49 people were laid off from game loft yesterday.

They’ve been doing layoffs for over a year now. I have a friend who worked at the studio in Romania where 136 employees were laid off when they shut the studio down back in May. It’s really sad.

So, I looked into this, and nobody from the Gameloft studio that works on DDLV was laid off. The layoffs occurred at Gameloft Toronto (49 layoffs) and Gameloft Romania (136) layoffs. Fortunately, Gameloft Montreal (the studio that handles DDLV) did not experience any layoffs. This is probably because DDLV has been performing modestly for Gameloft and at this time cuts were not necessary.
With how many bugs they have it's like they don't test before release.
If they don't fix the bug within the next couple weeks I'll probably stop playing all together since there's so many other similar games

This is why we can't have nice things. It's always the few people that exploit the game and it ruins it for everyone else...
Or maybe it's Gameloft ruining it by not testing their updates at all - cause with how many issues were in the last update, the hotfix and this update, it certainly seems like they don't do any testing.
This bug is so major and so easy to catch, that I'm honestly shocked that they completely missed it

@@alam5055BINGO! This is 100% a gameloft issue! People are going to exploit games by modding them. Coding things to prevent that from happening is just part of being a game developer in the modern age. Countless game developers fade the exact same thing. Gameloft, on the other hand, has a MAJOR issue when it comes to not play testing the game, along with their extremely faulty and lazy game code. The game is so broken in so many ways, and they keep putting on bandaids rather than fixing the actual source of the issue within their coding. At this rate, I don’t see this game having the longevity everyone wants it to have. There is just no way the game can keep surviving longterm with how unstable the foundation of the game code is.
Think it goes both ways I used to buy $20 of moonstones and they’d last me 2 weeks and now buy $50 isn’t even enough for one week of premium items. I get the inventory increased but so have the prices of items
This is my fave Star Path since I started playing in March '23. And also my fave premium shop drops on update day. I also LOVE the new Remy furniture from his daily quests. It's frustrating to not be able to buy duplicates especially since decorating is my favorite aspect of this beautiful game. I hope they patch this soon. In the meantime I will do Mulan and Mushu quest line, grind out the Star Path so I can get duplicates of everything as soon as the bug is fixed and I will try and challenge myself more in Dreamsnaps.
For now, I've been able to work with just the one copy of the items in my builds, so while annoying, it's okay for me for now. I just really want to get more of those magnolia petal piles for a Frosted Heights build I have in mind, but that's about it. You do have a good point at the "why" behind this bug, since the blue chests were one of the most glaring issues. I LOVE LOVE LOVE the update so far with all the new clothing and mystical phoenix companion and wings!! Totally in love with it all.
Same! It's one of my favorite Starpaths of all time, and I'm so happy with the new theme! Sure, the Scrooge shop bug is a pain, but I have plenty to do while they work towards a fix. 😁
@@Probably_Senpai Exactly! I've sent a bug report about the store to Gameloft and they responded with telling me that they are working on a fix for the Scrooge bug, and though it may take some time, they will aim to have it fixed as soon as possible.
Plus certain attractions like DUMBO the flying elephant or the TEACUP ride are NOT WORKING after the update
Yeah seems like a pretty big oversight in testing. For me personally, I am ok if they fix it before next weekly reset. It's still having this issue in the next decor snap challenge where it will really annoy me
Maybe instead of the chests we get 50 moonstones when we log in to the game. The green chests you get from scrooge when you visit him

When they gave us the new patch notes i wish the would warn us about whats to come😅 when i saw the stitch dreamsnap and then the stitch bundle❤ i already had an idea what i wanted to do but now i can't 😢 but i have to say im pretty impressed with this update might be my favourite one yet...i do hope they will give us options to choose if we want a static cursor or a moveable one, same with the zoomed in speed
I’m loving the new Mulan content and Star path in the update so far! Unfortunately a lot of the bugs i’ve experienced in previous versions have not been fixed and seem to have actually increased in frequency (fish still on screen after catching, not being able to scroll in collection tab, trouble leaving houses, and wild monkeys disappearing). No crashes yet but a little annoying to have to restart the game when I encounter these. Since the devs said a major focus of the update would be bug fixes I was hoping these issues would be solved. Here’s hoping a new Hotfix doesn’t break the game more!
I love this game and I really don't like criticizing it,, but they have taken my decorating from a pleasurable experience to a maddening one with the slow scrolling in furniture mode to pick up and move items. I would not have minded it being a little slower ,but this is like a turtle slow.
I noticed the slowness as well and thought it was just me. My character seems to move slower as well
If you pan out, it moves faster, but I do not like the change at all! This is something literally no one asked for. It’s at the point where they need to halt all new content/features and focus on fixing what’s wrong with the game to make it stable and playable! It’s like putting new items on a broken table…everything is going to end up on the ground. That’s what this game feels like to me. I’m constantly on pins and needles waiting for another glitch or game freeze to interrupt what was supposed to be a cozy and relaxing gameplay experience.
I feel they are breaking things that don’t need breaking. This bug is beyond frustrating. Like you said, we look forward to decorating with new items. Well, one stone lantern and kite not make a decorated valley. They need to do a covert operation like Animal Crossing did/does. Find the retailers and ban their account. Nintendo does this and don’t play around. Game Loft is playing with a HUGE community. They can’t just, “oops, we are a cute little operation. We are trying” anymore.
Couldn't have said it better myself! This is exactly how I feel about the situation! Taking a page out of Nintendos book and going after some of these retailers would be a great start. We all know Nintendo would NEVER let this slide. They won't even let you give away emulators of games they don't sell anymore. 😂

This bug has me not wanting to even play and finish getting Mulan because I won't be able to decorate her area as much as I'd like to.
I still recommend getting Mulan and Mushu. You get plenty of items from them that you can buy from scrooge and craft. Not to mention, there are plenty of things to focus on right now other than decorating. The new quests, starpath, and events. I'm hoping that by the time players are finishing up these tasks, the patch will be in, and we'll be able to move forward with our Scrooge shop purchases and decor changes. 😀
I didn’t realize it was targeted at premium/star path items. I thought it was random and effecting new items just bc. Now it makes more sense at least, but still a bummer

Sure, this issue is frustrating and never should have happened in the first place... but with that in mind, there are many more positive things about this update than negative. Overall stability seems better (for most players I've spoken with), the new quests are very entertaining, the new realm was well made, the starpath was a breathe of fresh air, and the new inside out / remmy quests are bringing even more interesting content to the game. 😁
Overall, I'm very happy with this update. I just want to speak out honestly when I feel like something needs to be addressed quickly (like the issue in this video!)
If you are feeling discouraged despite the positive changes or if some of these positive changes didn't impact you, that's okay too! It's okay to take a break or step away from a game you love for a bit while things get sorted out. Gaming should always be enjoyable, entertaining, and relaxing.

i’m loving this update this is my first ever star path i’ve almost completed it i just need to get a frew more things from it but ive only got 1:000 moonstones i will complete it when i get more moonstones ill do my dreamsnap everyday and get my blue moonstone chest 😊
I would only use the blue chest to get my old items back that I got in the beginning that I lost when resetting. I was sleepy and clicked on the wrong thing. I would never cheat. Like some of the rides. Wheel and teacup and some of the items we got in early game
This also affects the Pride balloons too. Any new items it seems.
Yeah, unfortunately event or limited items also seem to be impacted by this!
I haven't been able to do any dreamsnap voting due to it bugging out since the update.
I also have had my scrooge shop bug out where when I enter the shop it zooms the shop out and you can't interact with anything in it causing you to have to have to restart your game.
That Scrooge shop bug has been around for a while. It's happened to me 4 or 5 times on PC. It doesn't happen to me often, but it does occur on occasion. Certainly not a new bug, so I'm surprised it's still an issue. 😅
It's unfortunate to hear about the dreamsnaps voting, though... as it's required for a starpath duty. Hopefully, it was only acting up due to high traffic and will work properly in a day or two!
@Probably_Senpai Hopefully, it will be fixed soon as I've tried multiple times and have already gotten the starpath task for it as I've been pushing hard through it as I have both my alt and my daughters to push through after this one.
Thank you so much for posting this and being so honest with your take on what’s going on. It’s been more than frustrating playing the game since the “fix” after the Daisy update. I had cautious optimism going into this update and I was hyped to grind out the Star Path first this time around before moving onto the new realm and characters, but this bug has soured the whole experience for me. I love this game and it has provided a much needed mental and emotional outlet for me since its early access days, but in the past several months I’ve become more and more disenchanted with it. I hope they find a way to better navigate their staffing issues in conjunction with providing stable and reliable gaming content because if they don’t, this game’s days might indeed be numbered.😢

I had a bug that was telling me I’d already brought the star path moonstones. Added them 2x to my moons, so if I got the x200 it’d say I’d already got it but then it’d add x400 to my moons!!
And no this wasn’t a good thing because I could not spend them. I wanted the tinkerbell house but was unable to buy it coz my moons said they where at 3000 but in reality they where not coz of the glitch adding more then what I actually had😂
Lol! SAME thing happened to me! Though, when I logged on the next day the extra moonstones had been deducted. Too bad! 😅😅
I'm having this issue, but I've never bought moonstones. All of my premium shop purchases have been from earned moonstones via dreamsnaps. It's very frustrating since I've started decorating around Mulan's house. Me personally, I don't mind waiting for a fix because I play a lot of other games. Especially with two new F2P games next week. So it just gives me time to complete the star path, character quests and just overall collect resources.
This bug also targets items from redeem codes, I got this bug when trying to buy duplicates of the pride arches.

Love the update. However, the bugs are out of the control. I no nothing about making a game. But when i have new things added to my work programs, they are put into a test platform to fix any bugs before its uploaded into the main program. Cannot this be done for games??
In most cases yes, these things can and should be ran on a seperate test or beta server before rolling out to the public. I think more often than not, Gameloft is too eager to push out the new updates regardless of whether or not sufficient testing was applied. It's an unfortunate norm within the "live-service" gaming industry. I can see "some" minor bugs slipping through on testing but I'm surprised nobody caught or even considered this. Then again... it's entirely possible they did find this issue when testing but chose to roll it out anyway until they could find a work around as upper management could have pressured them due to the loss of profits from the hacked blue chest issues.
So they are escalating the cost of this game and we can’t even have free will to utilize the items the way we want. Got it.
To be honest, this probably opens them up to litigation if it isn't resolved immediately.
Super Mad I can’t get duplicates. I hateeeeee decorating right now. It’s soooooo slow even when I scan out. I hate that when I’m decorating I can no longer use the arrow buttons to place things. I’m on switch. Not loving the update so far… also I don’t like the small orbs, I prefer them normal size. They were easier to find… I’m so disappointed and I spent $100 so I could buy everything since I had no moonstones. Extreamly Frustrated….. 😩 I kept playing through all the bugs and crashes. I didn’t think anything could get me to put this game down but I’m seriously thinking of hanging it up now, I’m not even excited for star path at this point. Oh and my inside out challenge isn’t fully working, 😣😩😭😭😭

I can't submit a dreamsnap because it's claiming I have touch of magic items in the photo which isn't true :/ I also hate the way the controller works now, it's not as fluid as it was :/
There should be a way to shut off touch of magic when you are in camera mode
There is a new option on the camera mode, which makes all touch of magic items invisible. You can find this toggle right above the camera menu in the left hand corner. Toggle touch of magic off and you'll be able to submit.

it scrolls slow when zoomed in and zoomed out, and i used to place things with my d-pad (i'm on switch), and can't now. don't you love it when companies "fix" things that aren't broken? yeesh
I’m not able to repurchase basic items either like counters and cabinets.
I don't know if it's just my game but whenever I go in furniture mode and move the cursor around the valley it moves so fricken slow! Usually that was only the case when I had already selected a path to put in my valley, but now just moving around the cursor takes forever from biome to biome. Fix this!

Can they ban their accounts and IP address from the game if they find out who is delivering and getting them??
Potentially yes. Though, typically if someone is tech savvy enough to create mods or exploit a game's code in this manner, it's very likely that they'd be operating under a VPN which would make it extremely difficult for Gameloft to get an IP address... and while Gameloft could terminate or lock their account, they could just turn around and make a new account if Gameloft can't figure out their IP address. 🤔
For Gameloft, the best way to shut this situation down would be to alter their games code to remove potential exploits but it's a tricky process and as we're seeing now, can often carry unintended consequences. 😣

Dropped 50$ on this game today before I even played the update. Wtf are they doing? They are quite literally trying to throw away the game at this point. Like it’s already difficult on switch with the errors and force closes. Now decorating takes 10 years. And the Scrooge shop error. I’m a good bean. I don’t time skip. I wait patiently. Like I’ll send my submits and get nothing every single time. In the beginning I was getting idk 2000 moonstones for my submissions. Now it’s nothing. I’m sadden bc I’ve quite literally dropped like at least 800$ on this game. I love it so much. But they treat us like cash cows at this point.
Hey Lauren! I would like to address a few things here in your comment. You may find some of this information helpful, and hopefully, it'll make you feel a bit better!
First off, I actually like decorating more thanks to this update! It's way faster, not slower! However, you need to know how the system works. The closer your camera is to the ground, the slower it moves. The further away from the ground, the faster in moves. Simply zoom out and up to increase camera speed. The reason it's faster is because now you can duplicate items and swap out all of your pathing at once. I recommend reading the patch notes for more information.
Secondly, you CAN'T time skip in this game. NOBODY can time skip. It destroys your save file. This isn't Animal Crossing... DDLV is a live service game, and it's synced with DDLV's servers. Time skipping literally breaks the game. Everyone has to "wait patiently" so you're not alone... none of us time skip. 😅
Lastly, if you want to earn more from dreamsnaps, you should watch this video next. It completely breaks down the dreamsnaps system, and it can explain why your ranks are lower than you'd like. While this Scrooge Shop bug is certainly disappointing for you, me, and many others, I would say that overall, this update is quite positive with many good QOL changes. It's not all bad!

That's a good point. I'm not sure if they'd take this route, though, as the game is being advertised as "multiplayer"
I don't mind waiting a while to get this fixes and will spend my moonstones in Premiumshop items that are effected when I like them.

Everyone has this issue. It's not limited to certain players or consoles. That's another reason why it's so problematic.
It's infuriating, because we spend money on this. Can we get refunded then?
My game is still crashing and freezing. In my opinion this should be of the highest priority.
What platform are you playing on? Are you on Xbox Gamepass by chance?
The blue chest thing is a serious issue. I think it is reasonable for us not to be able to buy extra copies of items for a week or two, in order to prevent thousand of dollars worth of stuff from being stolen. It is also annoying for the players who don't steal, knowing you have to pay or work hard and save up from in game sources, and someone just comes by randomly and steals all the items and now they have everything.
I wouldn't say it's *reasonable* for Gameloft to roll out this change without properly testing it or considering how it can impact the playerbase.
I can and did acknowledge *why* it happened, but if you want companies to improve, you can't give them a free pass on things like this. It's simply not acceptable. They could have fixed the issue without punishing the entire playerbase. This brings even more negative press and damage to the game, potentially costing them even more money.
So no, it's not reasonable in my eyes. The Blue Chest issue, of course, MUST be addressed but not at the detriment of your playerbase and their ability to enjoy what they spent their money on.
I say this as a massive supporter of DDLV. If we want the game to be well received and to grow, we MUST hold Gameloft accountable when things like this happen.

Not being able to buy extra items is an annoying bug. Some times you got to have priorities. I feel like if they gave everyone a 1000 moonstones for the inconvenience of not being able to buy extra items, most people wouldn't be upset. So it is a problem they are resolve with low effort. Every day people are making blue chests though, they are doing permanent damage to the game that might not be able to ever be fixed.

I literally said it's a BUG (See video title), and I explained why the bug happened. I also said they are punishing their player base but NOT intentionally. Pay attention next time, and you won't have to look silly in the comments. The only one who "lost the plot" here was you, considering you clearly misinterpreted everything I was saying.
The issue here was the hacked blue chest fix being rolled out without proper testing. We all know it's not intentionally *as clearly stated in the video*, but that doesn't mean it should have happened. 99% of the players who watched this video seemed to understand this just fine... but you couldn't for whatever reason. That may be because you weren't really listening or you just heard what you wanted to hear. Either way, please watch the video again and listen closely next time. 😉 Cheers!
