As someone who’s been in this community for a long time I can say this is pretty accurate. Plus seeing how much Roblox has changed is still kind of unbelievable to me. Just imagine being in 2013 and some guy says “hey, this is what Roblox would look like in 7-8 years.”
It’s so amazing how far roblox has come even though this was posted a year and a half ago roblox is so much more popular and everyone has such unique styles and the catalogs and ugc items have become so popular like wow
Now, 2022 mid-2023 start, we have came back to the bloxy like avatars, but most of are avatars are pretty interesting, but most are super cool, I say that some players noticed that roblox is failing kinda, and tried helping, they did not much tbh. -Me(2018 player)
Its so unbelievable to see how ROBLOX has come. I mean in 2006 was like the bottom of the barrel, barely any games with barely any animations and now in 2022, we got all these super graphic based games like The Mimic and all the showcase and vibe places. There's even a game called Super Nostalgia Zone which is basically a game about old roblox and it helps people go back and relive the past experience of playing roblox in the early 2000s.
I really do agree, I feel like people focus on the bad stuff of new roblox, and even though there is stuff in Roblox that do need to be fixed, it has came a long way with fully fledged games

I’ve been playing since 2012 and adored that era, but to be perfectly honest, 2017 was also kind of fun. I mean the styles reminded me of the older times, the games were still original and actually nice to play with friends, the community was a happy mix of old and new players. I’d say 2017 was like a second peak for roblox. sure I miss being a guest coming in last on Roblox Top Model, but games like Fashion Famous helped me relive that a little. sure I miss “guest cooties” or even “bacon cooties.” honestly though, I kind of hate where roblox ended up. Unoriginal copy and pasted simulator games, and bases that vary between being totally inappropriate for kids to being way too over censored. not to mention the laziness and lack of originality that once sparked everywhere, or the fun friend groups you’d make. now it’s just kind of sad and boring. I get I’m older now, and moving on to new games, but even the younger kids I know (7-10) don’t enjoy it as much as, say, minecraft. I hope it reaches another peak soon.
@@memedew6677 definitely not most, no. and the only good ones are of one or two genres, and the outliers are fewer in numbers than the simulators. I’d also like to see another captivating egg hunt, like the 2017 one, which was one of my personal favorites.

True I really like 2015-2019 Roblox but I love how Roblox added UGC items so now people can have what they want on their avatar and express it. Things that I really want Roblox to change is the Make clothing and builders club. Why? The making clothing used to be free if you had Builders club or Premium and now it’s just 10 robux if you want to upload your clothing even if it doesn’t work! That’s like 100 robux down the drain it got wasted. Premium? I mean premium is meh but I think it makes more sense to have builders club because it’s Roblox powering imagination. It’s not like a random video game that just says “BUY PREMIUM” it’s more about creating games, models, scripts, & more. And people come and see your game and play! I really love how the games now have something from blender and people can animate their models or startercharacters. Meanwhile in the og Roblox, the characters would just walk around like a robot and the morphs would not have any animation it would just hover. And so many stuff were just not animated and also there was that old logo I really love that old logo I think it looks better than the new one itself because now the new one LITERALLY looks like an modern white faded cheez-its logo 😂 Who else misses the egg hunts? Yes, me too. Me and my brother loved the 2017 or 2018 one where the crow does something? I forgot.. I mean the new Roblox has better games and better items than the old Roblox. My fav era is 100% 2006 - 2010. Idk why but the style is just really cute to me, like- they looks so innocent and full of joy. Back then no one cared about what they looked like or how much robux they had, they just cared about how much fun they were having! I love making my avatar look like its from 2006 - 2010 as well lol. Next time i get robux im gonna spend it on items ppl wore during 2006 - 2010, and then put those items on, and then go play a bunch of old roblox games ✨

I joined in mid 2015 and I definitely think 2015-2016 was my favorite era. Egg hunts, Building games, sword fighting games, War groups, Trading, all of the memories I made make me smile to look back on. Roblox has grown so much and this comment isn’t bashing current Roblox AT ALL. Current Roblox is still fun, I just much prefer older Roblox.
I joined 2015 as a guest cuz my sister told me about the game so I play it a lil bit then just quit then I joined back as a guest cuz Dan TDM prison life vids and Pokemon brick bronze it was fun time playing but at the time I decided to just quit on around 2017 cuz Zelda breath of the wild released around that time came back on 2018 it was a good fun memories I would say games back then weren't as good as today games but the community? Old roblox is better in term of community. I would say Roblox is still very fun.

My favourite has to be 2011 - 2016. I joined in 2016, so I saw a lot of these kinds of avatars, and I made one myself. I remember the "Blonde action ponytail" and the dizzy face were popular as well, and I wore them. To me, I still really love it! I find it interesting to look at all my old items and remember how different Roblox used to be. The oldest hair I purchased with robux was the Cool Blue Girl Hair. The Neon Blue Animal Hoodie and the Dust Mask were my oldest accessories. Sadly, my oldest shirts were deleted, but one of the oldest pants was the Ice Bear. And, oh my goodness, I remember buying the robot animation. I consider it old, and I remember loving it. I also remember so many games that used to be popular back then!!! Like "Ultimate Hide n Seek"!!! I played that game *every day* with my older brother. ah, the good ol' days.

Personally I came from the 2011-2016 era, I have to admit, despite all the stuff people say was so great, i honestly think the current era of Roblox, maybe the one right before, were my favorite eras, introducing a lot of new things. I remember how I never really cared for my avatar, I still don't, I always used the same avatar since for a good while I for some reason thought people just got their avatars when joining Roblox, only recently remembered Catalog exists. (Still don't care enough to change my avatar though.)
I joined the roblox community somewhere between 2018 - late 2019. The community was much more friendly and forgiving, and less talkative from my experience, but they played fair and didn’t complain... much, at least. I remember when me and my old friends would play epic mini games, jail break, 2player tycoons and OH MMY GOODNESS SPEEDRUN all the time haha... back when, the bear mask was also super popular. please tell me I’m not the only One who remembers speedrun, god that game was so fun...

Definitely 2006 era! It had a simple avatar style and nobody would be getting made fun of for their outfits. However I do prefer rp games but I also enjoy building! Survival can be fun too.
I remember when I first downloaded roblox at a friend’s house in early 2016. The first ever game I played was meep city. I was satisfied with roblox up until early 2020 when I started seeing online daters and other things like that. It was sad to see my favorite game for 4 years go down hill. Now I have no motivation to play roblox other than with my one friend. Anyway, the first egg hunt I participated in was the 2020 egg hunt since in previous years I didn’t really care for events. I was one of the first to see UGC but I didn’t get robux until mid-2019. I always get quite sad and nostalgic going though the evolution of roblox since 2016 and I just thought I’d share my experience.
I really missed the old roblox, good moderation, the roblox owner used to be online and play games, and people were actually nice. Now today, drama spreads everywhere, the moderation was bad and hackers are common, and people are just being bad and the lawsuit with Rubensim show that roblox hides the stuff, and the outside they seem nice but in reality, companies will not listen that commonly, they all want money.
in my opinion,the best era is 2016-2018. events were still here,they were fun,egg hunts were awesome,games were fun and people weren't as toxic as they are now. 2019 wasn't bad but that's when it all started going downhill
I can actually remember back in around 2015 when I decided to play roblox for the first time, I was a guest, with my first game being a Waterpark game, sadly I stopped playing roblox and then came back a while later, and then later made a new account. Good memories.
When you talked about adopt and raise a cute kid that just made me sad. I started playing in 2017 like you and I was a guest for a few months, and when I got my account I played that game for hours every day. I took a break and didn't play roblox much around 2018/2019 and came back in 2020. I remembered adopt and raise a cute kid, searched it up, and I was so sad when I realized it wasn't there anymore.
I joined on my original account in 2014 and damn the early drawings of avatars were so painfully accurate. Honestly for me I absolutely loved 2016-2018 of roblox :)
I joined back on mid 2018, I was new and curious about it, luckily I met nice and friendly people and taught me about the platform, the first game I joined was Survive at Natural Disaster and some obbys and roleplay games, for a strange reason I got kicked from my acc, I was confused and almost freaked out because I thought I got hacked or Idk what else, so a year later I made my current acc on the mid 2019 (it was before the new update and UGC items, I believe), also on 2020, I got robux for the first time and bought many things to give more characterization for my main avatar, I'm still active to my acc for now and I miss my old acc I made like 4 years now

I joined in 2016 and tbh imo it was much better in that era of the game. I remember avatars looking so different, playing Lego looking games, controls that weren’t as fluid as they are now etc. I also had nostalgia from the 2017 era. I miss those times. I left Roblox in early 2017 until mid 2020 and came back to so many changes. I could hardly believe it was the same platform.
You should try the Shire pen... しれペン in the public market, it would be even better for the style of the first era. I consider roblox has 3-4 distinct eras. 1.Alpha eras 2006-2009 where circle studs used to be common where it had limited colors and just alright, basic but fun. 2. 2009-2012 The beta pre-dynamic lighting. Game compatability was fairly high between these, where you could build with a glue texture and it wasn't merged with weld. Surface based building was still the norm, though the only advancements was added plugins to c-frame... 2013-2015 Where dynamic lighting and game compatibility with 2006-2009 games became finnicky. This time before 2015... A lot of old games got dynamic lighting revisions. No major material changes, until 2015. 2015-2020 Surfaces are done away with and also a high framerate of 60 was achieved during this time... I joined in 2011, lost my quinn900 account, but got my 2012 one quinn1337. The alpha was 2006-2009, ALL ROBLOX LAUNCHERS FROM 2010-2013 Get labeled as "beta ". Which roblox adding dynamic lighting was a mixed thing for me personally. I quit building as I couldn't use purely plastic and surfaces to create. Old roblox wasn't a script focused builder at all though.
As someone who joined in 2015 as a guest and made a account in 2016 I remember playing a lot of hide and seek extreme and also that slide game where you get digested (believe me I know it sounds weird) and also a game abt making cakes and yet again getting digested… I remember 2017 very well, I was very confused, I remember hating how different the platform felt and didn’t start playing again in 2018 but unfortunately my account got hacked so in 2020 I made my new account and ever since then my second account from 2020 till now has served me well.
I joined in 2014, and let me tell you when I played meet city as a 6 year old on a guest account It..was so much different. I really missed it. Oh and 2017-2019 was my stage. I was a crazy roblox farming player,simulators, tycoons,obbys, outfit choices. Although i didn't get robux I used to play alot of designing games. Roblox blew up during those times, as well as flee the facility and work at a pizza place. Man 2018 was the best.
2012 - 2018 was super amazing i missed the old denis, when meepcity wasnt intoxicated with inappropriate stuff, sally green gamer, roblox music videos, roblox animations like the last guest, ethan gamer tv, bunny island, that marble run game idk what its called but its a OG game, hotel elephant, the roblox plaza, dantdm and alot more

Honestly, I miss the 2019 era because the game was much more enjoyable and less toxic, I've only been in the game for like- 4-5 years (had several accounts) and it has really changed, adopt me got a bit better AND worse, depending on your opinions -- along with meepcity, jailbreak, murder mystery, etc. And the outfit styles has really improved from what I've seen! The UGC update has really boosted creativity and there isn't any guy on the other side of the world with the same salad crown, beautiful black hair and ice leg and arm as you. But it's nice to see how Roblox is improving (yet the community is just improving with its way to get alot of drama) and my gameplay improving along with it!

It’s not like a random video game that just says “BUY PREMIUM” it’s more about creating games, models, scripts, & more. And people come and see your game and play! I really love how the games now have something from blender and people can animate their models or startercharacters. Meanwhile in the og Roblox, the characters would just walk around like a robot and the morphs would not have any animation it would just hover. And so many stuff were just not animated and also there was that old logo I really love that old logo I think it looks better than the new one itself because now the new one LITERALLY looks like an modern white faded cheez-its logo 😂 Who else misses the egg hunts? Yes, me too. Me and my brother loved the 2017 or 2018 one where the crow does something? I forgot.. I mean the new Roblox has better games and better items than the old Roblox. The layered clothing is really cool and same as the animation package. I honestly think that Old Roblox and new Roblox are equal

My fav era is 100% 2006 - 2010. Idk why but the style is just really cute to me, like- they looks so innocent and full of joy. Back then no one cared about what they looked like or how much robux they had, they just cared about how much fun they were having! I love making my avatar look like its from 2006 - 2010 as well lol. Personally I came from the 2011-2016 era, I have to admit, despite all the stuff people say was so great, i honestly think the current era of Roblox, maybe the one right before, were my favorite eras, introducing a lot of new things. I remember how I never really cared for my avatar, I still don't, I always used the same avatar since for a good while I for some reason thought people just got their avatars when joining Roblox, only recently remembered Catalog exists. (Still don't care enough to change my avatar though.)
I love how she included things into the designs like the simplicity.
I joined the roblox community somewhere between 2018 - late 2019. The community was much more friendly and forgiving, and less talkative from my experience, but they played fair and didn’t complain... much, at least. I remember when me and my old friends would play epic mini games, jail break, 2player tycoons and OH MMY GOODNESS SPEEDRUN all the time haha... back when, the bear mask was also super popular.

Definitely 2006 era! It had a simple avatar style and nobody would be getting made fun of for their outfits. However I do prefer rp games but I also enjoy building! Survival can be fun too.

I remember when I first downloaded roblox at a friend’s house in early 2016. The first ever game I played was meep city. I was satisfied with roblox up until early 2020 when I started seeing online daters and other things like that. It was sad to see my favorite game for 4 years go down hill. Now I have no motivation to play roblox other than with my one friend. Anyway, the first egg hunt I participated in was the 2020 egg hunt since in previous years I didn’t really care for events. I was one of the first to see UGC but I didn’t get robux until mid-2019. I always get quite sad and nostalgic going though the evolution of roblox since 2016 and I just thought I’d share my experience.

I really missed the old roblox, good moderation, the roblox owner used to be online and play games, and people were actually nice. Now today, drama spreads everywhere, the moderation was bad and hackers are common, and people are just being bad and the lawsuit with Rubensim show that roblox hides the stuff, and the outside they seem nice but in reality, companies will not listen that commonly, they all want money.

I joined back on mid 2018, I was new and curious about it, luckily I met nice and friendly people and taught me about the platform, the first game I joined was Survive at Natural Disaster and some obbys and roleplay games, for a strange reason I got kicked from my acc, I was confused and almost freaked out because I thought I got hacked or Idk what else, so a year later I made my current acc on the mid 2019 (it was before the new update and UGC items, I believe), also on 2020, I got robux for the first time and bought many things to give more characterization for my main avatar, I'm still active to my acc for now and I miss my old acc I made like 4 years now

I joined in 2016 and tbh imo it was much better in that era of the game. I remember avatars looking so different, playing Lego looking games, controls that weren’t as fluid as they are now etc. I also had nostalgia from the 2017 era. I miss those times.

You should try the Shire pen... しれペン in the public market, it would be even better for the style of the first era. I consider roblox has 3-4 distinct eras.
1.Alpha eras 2006-2009 where circle studs used to be common where it had limited colors and just alright, basic but fun. 2. 2009-2012 The beta pre-dynamic lighting. Game compatability was fairly high between these, where you could build with a glue texture and it wasn't merged with weld. Surface based building was still the norm, though the only advancements was added plugins to c-frame... 2013-2015 Where dynamic lighting and game compatibility with 2006-2009 games became finnicky. This time before 2015... A lot of old games got dynamic lighting revisions. No major material changes, until 2015. 2015-2020 Surfaces are done away with and also a high framerate of 60 was achieved during this time... I joined in 2011, lost my quinn900 account, but got my 2012 one quinn1337.
The alpha was 2006-2009, ALL ROBLOX LAUNCHERS FROM 2010-2013 Get labeled as "beta ". Which roblox adding dynamic lighting was a mixed thing for me personally.
I quit building as I couldn't use purely plastic and surfaces to create.
Old roblox wasn't a script focused builder at all though.
As someone who joined in 2015 as a guest and made a account in 2016 I remember playing a lot of hide and seek extreme and also that slide game where you get digested (believe me I know it sounds weird) and also a game abt making cakes and yet again getting digested… I remember 2017 very well, I was very confused, I remember hating how different the platform felt and didn’t start playing again in 2018 but unfortunately my account got hacked so in 2020 I made my new account and ever since then my second account from 2020 till now has served me well.

Honestly, I miss the 2019 era because the game was much more enjoyable and less toxic, I've only been in the game for like- 4-5 years (had several accounts) and it has really changed, adopt me got a bit better AND worse, depending on your opinions -- along with meepcity, jailbreak, murder mystery, etc. And the outfit styles has really improved from what I've seen! The UGC update has really boosted creativity and there isn't any guy on the other side of the world with the same salad crown, beautiful black hair and ice leg and arm as you.
But it's nice to see how Roblox is improving (yet the community is just improving with its way to get alot of drama) and my gameplay improving along with it!
