- In this video, I show how I use mylar with sketch embroidery designs. I purchase mylar from HobbyLobby .
If you are new here, I am Ashley and I operate TWO Etsy embroidery shops full time from my home studio. Over 3 years ago, I traded in my RN job and stethoscope to stay home and operate my businesses full time when I could no longer keep up with both! Now I have a beautiful little girl at home with me (and another baby on the way) that keeps me busy alongside my shops.

Very cute. Thanks for the video.
That turned out beautiful Ashley. I would have thought the mylar would have melted. Great job.
That's why I made sure to test that part! Wash wear is next!
Turned out great Ashley! I use mylar for free Standing Lace earrings.
Oh I bet those look amazing with Mylar!
Thanks for your content.
Woww... that came out really good!!
So cute! Love this!
oooh the mylar made it look so shiny. Hope it washes well, it would be a nice add on to designs.
Awesome ideal! can't wait until you see how it works out in the wash!
Oh my, that's cute cute love, grow love grow
Nice👍👍
Super cute I need to try this thank you
What a creative idea! Love the shimmery look. I’m curious to see how it looks after being washed.
I'm planning to try it out!
LOVE LOVE LOVEEEEEEE IT!!!! Definitely need to get some of the Mylar!!
Beautiful work!
That’s a great idea!!! Looks great!!
Wow the mylar made it look really shiny love it!
Loved it! The mylar made the design look so pretty!
I love it, Ashley! 💖 Eager to see it after it’s washed.
Very pretty and neat
It is so beautiful, great job!
I love how the shirt turned out! I have that same embroidery machine. I bought it at a sale, it was missing the hoops. I'd love to ask you some questions about the machine. I've had it over a year and never ran it. Need the hoops. 😃
Hi Peggy, there's replacement hoops that can be ordered but I typically use 3rd party hoops that fit the brother machines anyways. I like fast frames (flat metal hoops) and the magnetic mighty hoops best.
So cute!
Beautiful!
Beautiful!!!!
I wonder how it would look after wash? Great idea!
I did a follow up video and they wash great, I've had no issues with my own daughters!
Super cute!! Loved the way it turned out! Wondering about washability?
I'm doing some wash wear, I will update soon!
I love 😍 I need to try I out!!
Your design came out beautiful, Thank you for sharing this idea with Mylar.
Question: Could you use mylar on a regular design that is not sketched?
Thank You
I don't think it would work on another type. It needs the stitching to hold it in place but not completely cover it.
@@AshleyMonograms Thank you for the information.
That’s very beautiful how does it hold up with washing and drying in the dryer?
This one was for a gift but I have one I am doing wash/dry wear on that'll I'll share soon!
Such a cute look. Now does it make a crinkle sound?
Very very little crinkle if you are trying to hear it but I will be sure to check again after washing/drying!
Hi Ashly, I am not an American and can't find a product under the name "mylar" on my local's. Does mylar mean cellophane?
I'm not sure if that would be the same or not. Here's the link to exactly what I used if you can compare it to what you have locally.

@@AshleyMonograms Thank you so much(:
I love it! You heat it at 325 for how long?
About 7-8 Seconds.
@@AshleyMonograms Thank you !
What type of stitch did you use for the rainbow embroidery? I'm trying to teach myself how to digitize my embroidery for mylar.
I did not digitize this design, but it's a sketch style stitch (so light fill without underlay)
Will you let us know how it washes?
Yes, absolutely!
What font did you use?
It's Girly Goose from Creativeappliques.com I've added that link!
