Here is my translation of the lyrics:
    Pebble of the Stream
The moon has risen, has it not set yet,
Has not the sleepy-eyed gone to sleep?
The same Allah that created you,
Has he not created me, too?
    Pebble of the stream, flintstone,
    My beloved’s knitted eyebrows.
    Carry stones with the beautiful,
Rather than eat honey with the ugly,
    Diamonds have no smell,
    Lovers have no sleep.
Love me, if you can do,
    Don’t be afraid so much!
    Pebble of the stream, flintstone,
    My beloved’s knitted eyebrows.
    Carry stones with the beautiful,
Rather than eat honey with the ugly.
    Explanatory Notes:
The poem may sound bizarre when translated into English. It’s mainly because creating the original rhymes in English is nearly impossible. It’s quite difficult to impart the original sense. I guess it sounds a bit bland in English. As you know, poetry is essentially about rhythm, harmony, rhyme. Here, in addition to the classical rhyme at the end of lines, the anonymous poet also employed the literary technique known as “alliteration” (or head/initial rhyme). For example, the refrain stanza (i.e., the 2nd and 4th stanzas) relies heavily on initial rhyme: “Çay taşı çakmak taşı = note the repetition of the consonants “ç” (pronounced like “ch” of “cherry” in English) and “t”, also “ç” in the following line “çatık kaşı.”
This is a short, elegant and sad poem that simply tells of the worry, pain, and longing of a lover.
In the third and fourth lines of the refrain stanza (“Carry stones with the beautiful/Rather than eat honey with the ugly”), the adjectives “beautiful” and “ugly” do not only refer to physical beauty or ugliness, but also to the beauty or ugliness of soul/character. Carrying stones is a backbreaking chore while eating honey is a desirable thing. But such a delight as eating honey does not give pleasure when you have someone beside you, who is ugly not only of face but also of character.
I hope I could help you a bit.

I would like to also add some notes on the syllabic meter associated with Turkish folk poetry. The anonymous poet who wrote the lyrics employed syllabic meter here. As per Wikipedia; “Syllabic verse is a poetic form having a fixed or constrained number of syllables per line, while stress, quantity, or tone play a distinctly secondary role, or no role at all, in the verse structure.” Like all the other poems written by folk poets and minstrels in rural Anatolia, this poem relies on syllabic meter.
Let’s syllabify the lyrics of the song Çay Taşı and see the number of syllables in each line:
      Ay doğ-du bat-ma-dı mı, (7)
      Hu-mar göz yat-ma-dı mı? (7)
      Se-ni ya-ra-dan Al-lah, (7)
      Be-ni ya-rat-ma-dı mı? (7)
      Çay ta-şı çak-mak ta-şı, (7)
      Yâ-ri-min ça-tık ka-şı. (7)
      Çir-kin i-le bal yen-mez, (7)
      Gü-zel i-le taş ta-şı. (7)
      El-mas-ta ko-ku ol-maz, (7)
      Se-ven-de uy-ku ol-maz. (7)
      Se-ve-cek-sen sev be-ni, (7)
      Bu ka-dar kor-ku ol-maz. (7)
      Çay ta-şı çak-mak ta-şı, (7)
      Yâ-ri-min ça-tık ka-şı. (7)
      Çir-kin i-le bal yen-mez, (7)
      Gü-zel i-le taş ta-şı. (7)
So, instead of “42”, here “7” is the “Answer to the Ultimate Question.”
      Enjoy responsibly!

Sir, I don't know who you are. I know nothing about Turkish music or poetry. I just clicked on a video that was recommended to me by the TH-cam's algorithm. And... I ended up in this peaceful yard with chickens, that adds up to its serenity... with gunshots in the distance (like a symbol of the crazy world that spins around us). And in the middle of all of this... a music that hit me right in the middle of my soul. It's hard to describe what I feel in such moments. It's enough to say that I was crying... Thank you!

Unlike many other Nations turkish folk music is generally emotional and as one may call it "sad". Cuz we people have went through many bad stuff, wars, migrations, genocides, longing of home. And everytime we remembered these incidents we took our "saz" and we hit the strings. With grief and pain but in the same time with peace and gratefulness. Turkish music has the soul of all passed turkish people"s". Hope i was helpful :)

Sanki hepimiz orada oturduk seninle öylece, dinledik.
Öylesine aşinayız işte o an ve hale, öylesine yer etti içimizde.

    If I may:
In Ecuador, my grandmother, bless her soul, still alive, has a farm similar to yours; she has chickens, avocado trees and grows corn and potatoes in her fields. In reunions we would roast a pig and enjoy the fruits of her *cosecha*.. when I was a kid on New Years eve we would burn a mannequin doll that would represent the old year. We would also use fireworks. Such beautiful memories when you come from humble villages and farms. My father would tell me stories of when he was a child.. helping his father in the farm. They didn't have electricity in those days. When they would travel on horse and the sun goes down it would be difficult to tell who is who. Carrying a rifle would be dangerous rather than protective.
My parents gave me a comfortable life.. but I always felt happier in the farm.
In any case, your farm brought back memories of happiness. I appreciate your beautiful playing, thank you :)

Şu an tarifi imkansız duygular içindeyim. Acizim. Ruhum birleşmiş bütün evrenle. Herşeyi kapsayan kocaman bir ana olmuşum. Hepinizle Özgür Babayla ve tüm yorum yapanlarla birim gönül gönüleyim. Kalbimden muhabbet taşmakta.huzur olmuşum Sevgi olmuşum Aşk olmuşum. Sizi benle buluşturana Eyvallah. Muhabbetle.

Müzik ve ruh aşığı bir göçer olarak çocukluğumdan beri onlarca farklı ülkede yüzlerce, belki de binlerce farklı müzisyenin ellerinden on binlerce farklı beste dinledim, ruhumun bu denli içine değen parçaların sayısı bir elin parmağını geçmez on binlercesinin arasından. Özgür Baba, bunu sana nasıl anlatabilirim bilmiyorum; bir edebiyatçı olarak benim kelimelerimin tükendiği yerde senin müziğin başlıyor. Parmaklarındaki sihir artsın eksilmesin.
