    *** NOTE: On the video I made a typo error NPK should be 4-18-38 not 14.
    List of Nutrients Mixture
    120 grams - NPK 4-18-38
    180 grams - Calcium Nitrate
    60 grams - Epsom Salt
    2 btls. 500ml - Distilled Water
    Mixture Guide
    Solution A
    Dissolve 120grams NPK to 250ml distilled warm/hot water
    Dissolve 60grams Epsom Salt to 250ml distilled warm/hot water
    Once all the particles are completely dissolve then combine them together.
    Solution B
    Dissolve 180grams of Calcium Nitrate into 500ml distilled warm/hot water.
    Dilution Ratio (Liter)
    1 Liter of water preferably sit overnight to dissipate chlorine. Then dilute 2.5ml of Solution A mix thoroughly with water (leave for 3-5mins) then add/dilute 2.5ml Solution B into it.
    Dilution Ratio (Gallon)
    1 Gallon of water preferably sit overnight to dissipate chlorine. Then dilute 9.5 to10ml of Solution A mix thoroughly with water (leave for 3-5mins) then add/dilute 9.5 to 10ml Solution B into it.
    *Ready for transplanting - 2.5ml per liter (A&B)
    Seedling with 3-4 leaves - Introduce half strength of the above mixture
    ** You may wonder why I increase the calcium nitrate by 50% instead of the standard 120g to 180g. This solution is best for leafy greens since leafy vegetables loves nitrogen. Aside from calcium needed by the plants, calcium nitrate is also a nitrogen source. If you feel adding calcium nitrate is unnecessary to your mixture, use 120g instead.
    ***Keep the concentrated solution in a cool dark place.

    Good job. I was concerned for while until I noticed you were not premixing the calcium nitrate with rest of the nutrients. If you don't mind, how did you determine the concentrate for each nutrient? I've considered doing the same, but Masterblend only gives maximum solubility at 3.5 lbs. per gallon. Premixing Masterblend and Magnesium Sulfate would affect the contraction amounts.

      I use them with leafy and fruiting plants. The reason I made a liquid stock/concentrated solution is the convenience of not having to scale/weigh each time I refill. This can be done on the standard ratio as well NPK 120g-CN 120g-ES 60g. But for this solution CN is increase by additional 50%. Since CN is a rich source of nitrogen it’s best recommended for growing leafy green as they love nitrogen. 🌱😊

Thanks a lot for any help.

    • @healinghobbies
      @healinghobbies  ปีที่แล้ว +3

      You're welcome🌱. Just couple of questions, are you using the same NPK (Masterblend)? If other brands, is it water soluble? Did you use warm water? if it's water soluble maybe the water wasn't warm enough. It'll take time to dissolve and will require vigorously shaking the formula. If solid particles are still present. I suggest add another 250ml of hot water not boiling hot, but hot enough not to burn you. This will make your concentrated Solution A of 1000ml. You will have Solution A (1000ml) Solution B (500ml). Your new dilution ratio for every 1 liter of water is ( 5ml of Solution A and 2.5ml of Solution B) I hope this helps and Keep growing!🌱🙂

      @@healinghobbies Should I replace this solution at regular intervals? or Only one time is it okey?

    • @healinghobbies
      @healinghobbies  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      It varies depending on the plant, system, and reservoir. For instance, lettuce grown using the kratky method typically requires up to 2.5 liters of nutrient solution until harvest, while fruit plants such as tomatoes, eggplants, peppers, and cucumbers grown in 5-gallon buckets require regular refilling and replacement of nutrient solution. Refilling, typically starts 4-6 weeks after seedling transplant, and at least twice a week once the plant begins flowering and bearing fruit. To avoid drowning the plants, it's important to leave a 2-inch gap from the top of the root when refilling to allow air roots to grow. Throughout the growing period, it's advisable to clean the buckets and replace the nutrient solution at least twice, or when necessary. I hope this helps! Keep growing!🌱🙂

      A cup of masterbelnd will weigh considerable more than a cup of calcium nitrate. Making a stock solution that isnt accurate is a complete waste of time because the accuracy of the nutrient solution depends on it. Technically, the weight of chemical should be completely dissolved in less than 500ml and then topped up to exactly 500ml. In the case of the masterblend/epsom stock , its hard to imagine that you could get the 180g of masterblend to dissolve in 500ml of water. The video shows a lot of undissolved chemical in the bottom of the bottle.

      If it's complete including micronutrients like iron, boron etc. and it's water soluble. I would try to experiment with small batch and see how it works. 🌱🙂

    Thank you for the video. Great job but how will I know when to add more of the fertilizer solution to my hydroponic system?

    • @healinghobbies
      @healinghobbies  ปีที่แล้ว

      You're welcome! Happy to share. I use the same ratio throughout the entire growing period up to harvest. If you are referring to the nutrient level. There are various factors: the system type, reservoir size, and climate season. For instance, in summer, moisture tends to evaporate quickly, which can affect the nutrient solution requirements.
      In the Kratky method, for fruiting plants like tomato, a good rule of thumb is to refill the reservoir when the nutrient level drops to a minimum of 2-3 inches. With leafy greens, if you have an adequate size of reservoir, refill is not necessary. Example a head of lettuce can consume at least 1.5L-2L of nutrients up to harvest. However, with systems that use pumps, it's important to ensure that the reservoir is not completely emptied during nutrient circulation, as this can hinder plant growth and potentially damage the pump. I hope this helps!🌱🙂

      @@healinghobbies Thank you for your reply. I will use the NFT system in my hydroponics. I will be planting around 500 different green leafy vegetables with a reservoir of 800 Liters of water. Are you saying that when I mix the A and B solution and add it to the reservoir that I don't need any more again and it will be enough until harvest?

    • @healinghobbies
      @healinghobbies  ปีที่แล้ว

      The 1.5L-2L was merely an approx. and an example especially with Kratky method. However, with the use of NFT, it can vary based on factors such as pump runtime hours and evaporation. In my case, I have a small semi-NFT system (similar to DFT system) with 108 plants and a 5-gallon reservoir. The pump runs for 5 minutes every hour. I usually refill the reservoir once every two weeks in the spring, but during the summer, I may need to refill it once a week or more often, depending on the need. Therefore, I refill the reservoir when necessary. My short response would be to refill the reservoir when needed.🌱🙂

    How many plants can be planted on the solution you have made. And how can we calculate for plants

    • @healinghobbies
      @healinghobbies  ปีที่แล้ว

      The amount of nutrient solution required, depends on the system and the type of plant you will grow. For instance, in the case of kratky lettuce, each head of lettuce usually consumes around 1.5L-2L of diluted nutrient solution. Therefore, this amount of solution would be sufficient to nourish approximately 100-130 heads of lettuce. I hope it helps!🌱🙂

    Hello I have a question, when we talk about traditional soil culivation, we need nitrifying (or more) soil bacteria and fungus that live in symbiosis with the plants to be grown, is this the same for hydroponic and aeroponic method ? can we totally make the vegetable growing without these bacteria and fungusthat transform nutrients ?

    • @suhermandharma6493
      @suhermandharma6493 ปีที่แล้ว

      (sorry for my bad English)
      The form of nutrient for hydroponic different than nutrient for traditional soil
      For example : NPK , nitrogen is mainly provided in three forms: as ammonium nitrate (NH4NO3) or ammonia (NH3), or/and urea (H2NCONH2) which is need time to release the kinectic energy to be absorb by the roots of plant (but not as long as time for bacteria to decomposed organic materials in the soil)
      While in Hydroponics solution they use nitrate for Nitrogen , which roots can most rapidly absorb nitrate in the zone (the side effect is if there is too much nitrate then the leaves will be easily burn).
      I also have a question for content creator for the effectiveness using NPK for hydroponics solution according to what I wrote above.
      While about soil bacteria/ fungus/ microbacteria ... it is different "world" , they break down/ decomposed any organic material in the soil/ compost/ etc.
      So we dont need that bacteria/ fungus/ microbacteria in the hydroponics. That's also the reason why hydroponics is effective for short living plants like pak choy, lettuce, tomattoes etc, because in hydroponics they got direct and easily absorbed nutrition, while for long lasting plants like citrus, guava, etc the plants can "wait" for the bacteria/ fungus to decomposed the material in the soil.
      Can we totally make the vegetable growing without these bacteria and fungusthat transform nutrients ? YES
